Estee Lauder Modern Mercury Collection for Fall 2011

Estee Lauder Modern Mercury Collection for Fall 2011

Launch Date: August 2011 at select Estee Lauder counters nationwide, esteelauder.com

Estée Lauder introduces a new and visionary color trend collection for Fall 2011. The Pure Color Modern Mercury Collection is a limited edition, texturally graphic collection inspired by modern, avant-garde architecture. Molten metallic eyes become the focus on a soft shimmering canvas and are complemented by edgy matte lips and a twisted shade of green on the nails. Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux debuted pieces from the collection at the Derek Lam Fall 2011 show, creating a look reminiscent of rogue femininity combined with modern minimalism that was truly passionate and chic.

In this architectural inspired collection, skin is softly blurred with just a hint of shimmer, eyes are boldly graphic and flaunt the metallic trend of the season while lips are dusted with a matte finish in contagious shades of beige, pink and red.
Nails are finished in a manic shade of green for an unexpected accent.

Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelee ($40.00) (Limited Edition)

A new “tribrid” system of liquid, powder and gel revolutionizes makeup application and wear with the new Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelée. This first-of-a-kind, “multi-powder” formula creates a theatrical blur of shimmer on the skin when applied dry and a fierce flush of color when applied wet. The unique suspension of golden pigments and pearls float on top of the skin, resulting in a truly unique sensorial experience for skin. The futuristic powder is flexible and uses a luminosity boosting complex that makes the complexion appear perfectly smooth, sexy and glowing with a polished finish.

Was just wondering why you say the highlighting gelee powder would not be suitable for darker skin tones? Does it not show up as a highlighter on the top of cheekbones?

I’ve seen the powder in person, the powder is actually very frosty, and shows up quite well, it can also be used as a eyeshadow base in my opinion.

Estee Lauder’s really been stepping up their game lately. All of these colors are fun and modern, and I’m dying to see powder gelee in action!

Some really pretty things. But alas, like with other dept store brands, no stores remain open within 200 miles of my rural area, so no where to go to touch, look, play then buy something. Really has cut down on things I will buy when one cannot see them first. Never thought where I lived would come a day we did not have at least one dept store.

the model’s look is exactly what I love about estee lauder. shadows look gorgeous- but sort of dupeable? i want the cheek gelee but for the price I’d have to see in person.

I already ordered the Gelee. I saw it swatched online elsewhere it’s to die for. I have sort of a deep skin tone and I think it will be just fine (MAC NC 40 *ish*. I have to order online so I’m waiting to see the ES swatched.

Looks gorgeous on the model, but I have medium-olive skin and silvery colors just don’t look good on me at all. I’m going to pass on this one!

The model is stunning! I am loving that red lipstick she’s wearing. I like Estee Lauder, but I don’t like the price(s) too much. Very expensive. I prefer MAC which is also part of EL, but cheaper and more wild in my opinion.
