Sneak Peek: LORAC x Beauty and the Beast Collection Photos & Swatches
LORAC x Beauty and the Beast Collection just launched on Ulta, and the collection features an eyeshadow palette, cheek palette, lipstick set, and a lipgloss set. I haven’t had a chance to test much from the collection, so I’m not sure how quickly I can get everything reviewed but will try to do the best that I can. There are tons of swatches in this post, so make sure to click “continue reading” (if you’re on the main blog) or get your scroll finger ready if you’re already on the post itself! 🙂
Beauty and the Beast Eye Palette
Beauty and the Beast Lip Gloss Collection
Some of this looks quite promising, but the matte shadows….eeeek!
the cheek palette is pretty
Fun collaboration/theme. Nothing here pressing any buttons for me — am feeling full up lately for color cosmetics — but we’ll see, I could change my mind for sure.
Adding this to my definite no-buy list. I’m trying to keep myself on ban island for a bit longer and this helps!
I missed out on the lipsticks directly from Lorac but just ordered them from Ulta, along with the blush palette. The blushes are my fave. The eyeshadow palette is tempting but I’m going to attempt to create my own with Coastal Scents Hot Pots. Thanks for all the swatches!
Christine, your best is always amazing so don’t stress on this. I am not seeing anything here that wow’s me. The mattes look patchy and dusty and the shimmers are all colors that I think we have seen before. The blushes look lovely and that is about it!! I think this will appeal to collectors though.
No LORAC in Canada, alas, but looking at that shadow palette, I’m not seeing great quality especially in some of the matte shadows and nothing that really excites me overall. Maybe I’m just telling myself this because I can’t get any of it up here.
It’s on Ulta now, and I think they now ship to Canada.
Wow – love the cheek and lip colors!
The shadows and glosses are meh, but love the pretty packaging. Best swatches are the cheek kit and the lipsticks.
Like the Pirates of the Caribbean collection, the eye palette is a complete flop! All the mattes seem so patchy and unever. I can’t wait to see how you make them perform, but this is so disappointing! This is a collection that had so much to work with and it is something that appeals all the Beauty and the Beast fans…
Now, the lip products look so beautiful! I am not a big lip gloss fan, and I am sort of inclined to purchase one or two.
The lipsticks look amazing and pigmentes. Can’t wait to see your reviews!
I love the colour scheme of the eye palette, but those mattes! Yikes.
I adore that blush palette. Its stunning.
Same with the lipsticks! I actually would wear every one of them!
I feel like a late starting point and maybe when Disney was in collab with Lorac for Pirates of the Carabeana they then decided to this collection.
To me, the most promising thing is the new Lipstick formula they have here. It’s shame they are selling it as a set and the first 3 shades I would buy separately.
The eye palette is rather boring to me. I think Lorac should try to release original palettes with interesting shade combinations rather than do as many movie collabs as they can, but maybe that’s just me… The cheek palette does look pretty good and the shades would work well on me, but the packaging is not really my thing.
I know….and for me to feel that way really is an indictment since I can almost always find some things to love in eyeshadow palettes.
Nope Lulle – I made that comment too – let MAC do the movie collabs and stick to what they can do well. The packaging is just a distraction from the quality of the product. Look where that has got Too Faced…
Wow Genevieve, you hit the nail on the head with that comparison! It’s a shame too because Carol Shaw is a really really fantastic mua and has the capability to do so much better than this stuff!
Exactly.
Yes!
Too Faced eye shadows have gotten impossibly bad, considering that they invest more on the packaging itself than the actual quality of the product! And Lorac is usually such a great performing brand. Their eye shadows are always so creamy and pigmented. This was definitely a flop. Focus on quality and forget about the packaging. Collabs always seem to be a little bit of a gamble with most brands, anyways.
Shouldn’t this have come out when the movie released? Either way, that eye palette is uninspiring. I wish they’d taken more inspiration from the rich jewel tones of the animated film rather than just make another neutral palette with an intellectual property name pasted on it. The lipsticks look like they perform well, though.
Exactly what I thought when I saw the colors. Beauty and the Beast has such vivid colors (at least th original Disney movie). It seems like they were completely rushing to release this! Idk. I would have expected a ton more than this.
So far I only care for the cheek palette (that Rose shade looks fabulous) and the lipstick set (because I am a lipstick addict apparently) but the eye shadow palette does not inspire.
Too bad you can’t buy the lipsticks as singles. I wanted one maybe two but don’t want the set (even though it’s fairly inexpensive).
The shadow palette looks nice, but a couple of the shades look like they might be too dry. The cheek palette however looks like a win!
Time Keeper shadow and Red Rose Gloss are nice. I like the look of all the lipsticks though. They look so creamy and moisturizing.
So torn. Some of the shadows look a little underwhelming. The cheek palette is pretty, but nothing I can’t dupe. Lorac glosses aren’t really my preferred formula, but the packaging for them and the lipsticks are whispering to my Beauty and the Beast loving little heart. I wish the lip products came separately; I might get a few of each. I may cave and get the lipstick set and pass along that orange nude shade.
Oddly timed release. Maybe coinciding with the DVD release? I feel like this would have had better traction if it came out when the film was released in theaters, though.
Lorac is saying this was timed to coincide with the DVD release, but I suspect that the PotC and the B&tB movies were originally scheduled to release further apart than they did. Didn’t PotC get delayed?
Overall I like movie tie-ins and think they’re fun.
The packaging is very pretty. I like the look of the lipsticks, all of the actually.
Lorac is not available here, and sometimes that’s a good thing, as I don’t even have to think about what to get.
My reaction to the eye palette, which I ordered and received, is different from just about everyone. I did not like the Pirates of the Caribbean palette at all and ignored almost every review because I knew I wouldn’t be buying it, but I will be able to wear close to 75% of the shades from this one since they definitely run cool. To me, it’s a refreshing change from the new MUG and Naked palettes, so I’m looking forward to playing with it. I always wear primer and am as pale as can be; almost any color at all shows up on my eyes. It’s the size of the thing that is maddening. It’s beautiful to look at, but it takes up a ton of room.
Belle-ieve and Tres Chic are pretty, but I think Tres Chic is similar to MAC Hot Chocolate, and Belle-lieve looks like a hundred other lippies. Other than that, I’m pretty underwhelmed, especially with the packaging. Why did they go so minimal?
The eye shadow palette – a random set of shades thrown together. The mattes look very patchy and the shimmery shades look fine. But there is nothing special, really, about this palette. I wish Lorac would steer away from the film/Disney themes and stick to what they can do well. The original Pro Palette was sensational, likewise the Pro Metals.
Cheek palette – good shades
Lip glosses – universal shades that have been done before
Lipsticks – meh.
Christine – please don’t worry or stress about getting the review done as quickly as possible. All in good time.
Loving how beautiful the cheek palette looks, and those lipsticks are quite lovely, too!
But….what the heck happened with those matte eyeshadows, though? And the lip glosses are just average looking.
Telling myself that while that’s good for my wallet, it is heartbreaking for huge Beauty & The Beast fans.
Love the packaging of the glosses! The eyeshadows don’t impress me at all. The few that seem to swatch well are colors we’ve seen so many times before. As much as I love the packaging and theme of these, I don’t feel compelled to pick up anything in this line.
Tres Chic looks lovely and I would get it if it were available as a single, but alas no. Will keep an eye out for dupes.
Eyeshadow palette is struggling. TIME KEEPER & MY CASTLE are the only ones alive.
Blush palette has very dupes.
Lip products… nothing new.
A very easy pass on the collection.
I have to stop looking at your swatches. I want them all.
I’ll be passing on this collection. The eyeshadow palette isn’t very exciting. The blush palette and lipstick set look lovely, but not unique enough for me to buy.
The cheek palette looks possible but it is really the Red Rose lippies that I want and I am not even a red person.
Too bad it is sold as a set. Looks like I will be passing on these unless I can find someone to share the set with me!
I have the palatte but am a make up beginner and was kinda bummed there wasn’t recommended looks with the palatte. All the shades are overwhelming and I am not sure what to put where. Any recommendations?
