Becca Liquid Crystal Glow Gloss
Becca Liquid Crystal Glow Gloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is a new, limited edition formula available in six shades. Becca describes it as “gemstones melted into liquid form” with a “mix of unique pearls” paired with a “conditioning” formula. An early note: there was a moderately strong scent of sweet, vanilla and coconut (reminded me of Bobbi Brown’s Beach fragrance), which was unique, though I did not taste it thus far.
Topaz is pretty… but Im not sure I can justify it
I’m kind of torn on these- they’re soooo pretty in the tube and the formula seemed nice, but I was a little surprised at how big the glitter particles are. I worry that there would be some sparkle migration…
Lip toppers tend to be very shimmery on the market. I’m surprised by the lack of shimmer density to them compared to other indie brand versions (Jouer, Urban Deacy, and Lime Crime).
I thought these would be opaque, kinda disappointed
Hmmm…I’m undecided. This may be something where I need to see them under a stronger colored base of something underneath because I cannot tell five of the six apart – they look identical. If the formula isn’t tacky, I could maybe see picking up one – I have generally liked every Becca product I’ve purchased.
They’re pretty but I can’t help but feel this is something I could have found at Walgreens for $2 back in the 90s. I can’t wear this stuff anymore without feeling childish (I’m over 30).
The sheerness and level of glitter is disappointing:(
Sooooo they are all pretty much the same color then huh lol. I had these in my cart on Sephora but will definitely pass. For this price, I’d want something a bit more opaque and less glittery. Hopefully they will do more.
I wonder if these are similar to the Buxom Full On Lip Polishes in the lighter/transparent shades!
Is it just me, or do these all look nearly identical to each other? Maybe the color shift and shimmer will be more apparent over a lipstick?? I had such high hopes for these ones…

Sad to see they’re so sheer. I was hoping for a more pigmented formula, but I guess with the name lip topper I should have known!

I’ve tried but I can’t make my Rose Quartz work. I don’t like it on bare lips, even if this was its intended use (the glitter particles remain stuck to the lips once the base is gone), nor as a topper.
They all look exactly the same, to my eye anyways.
Up close there is a bit of a difference between the shades but from a distance they all appear to be quite similar.
Obviously this is not reason enough to buy one, but these look adorable in the tube!
Topaz isn’t bad but I think I’m past this stage in my life. It feels like something a 14 yr old with good taste and a big allowance would wear.

I’ll need to swatch these in-store (maybe) before I purchase. I think these might be the kind of product that benefits from movement and layering.
But really, I’m just glad sparkly lips are coming back around. I don’t care if I’m too old for it, I’ve missed wearing my glittery glosses! ?
I am also a fan of sparkly, shimmery, glittering lips, and age is just a number. If I went with everything said about what you can and can’t wear, that’s supposed to be age appropriate, I’m not sure I’d be allowed to wear any makeup 🙂

Thank you for this. The mad scientist in me is all grabby hands at the pretty test tubes…. but I’m entirely underwhelmed by the swatches. Topaz would be a pick only because it seems to have a bit of colour to it. Lots of toppers in stash already.
THey kind of all look the same? I was thinking they might fare well maybe over a color? They also seem to go on patchy I like the colors…but for $22 and seeing what they do? I dont think so
Lots of these lip glosses look pretty similar to each other and would look great over a lipstick. Not sure about the glitter particles though. They could prove annoying.

I agree with some of the other comments about the glitter specks being too large – this would be way too over the top for me. Other than that, I like the shininess!
I had the misfortune of trying their beach tint lip gloss, Rasberry Opal and while the color was gorgeous it was sticky, sticky, sticky, sticky!!!!!!!!!! Just on how that product performed I was passing by these but seeing the swatches confirms my initial thought. Blah?

Opal x Jade, Topaz x Gilt and Amethyst x Geode look splendid and chock full of holo micro glitter! Yummy!
The smell sounds like it has almost a sunscreen scent? ?

So glad all you readers had the just-the-same comment. I just don’t get the slight hint of difference in these sheer products, be they Mac, Becca, or anyone else. Thought it must be my aging, crepey eyes! Strikes me that if you like it, you’ll only choose one, the one that coordinates with your favorite lip shade family, not grab a handful. Does not seem to guarantee a lot of sales. And flicking off the grit because it annoys you, or any hands to mouth, is such lovely public behavior. Anything that feels stuck in a glossy texture is……..nope.
Lol, I thought these were liquid highlighters until I saw your review. Thanks, I was considering buying one. I imagine it would’ve felt sticky on my face.

I agree with some of these comments – they are so pretty in the tube, but on the lips… eh. I’m not sold on these!! I was hoping to love these!
