Same here. I don’t like having to undo a great eye look, let alone leave a cotton square soaking on my eye for 30 seconds before I can wipe it all off. I love the benefits of exfoliating my lips but can’t be bothered some nights.

i exfoliate my lips every other day so that all lip colours look better. i find it easier and more convenient to use a soft cloth to gently buff away the dead skin in the shower/bath without having to use the currently trendy lip exfoliators. god knows i have enough tubes and jars already without adding that on!

Mostly, it’s just figuring out what to use and in what order. In the past few years, so many new “steps” have become de rigueur, it seems (I’m being slightly sarcastic) and so I’m never sure if I should apply the serum and THEN the essence or the other way around; then what about the “softener”? If I use a “softener”, do I skip the essence? And what about the mist? Before moisturizer but after serum? And which of them can and cannot be used around the eye area? (I have a few facial oils that say they’re not for use in the eye area but others that say nothing and a few that say “…including the under eye contour”. It’s all so confusing! And, of course, on nights when I’m really tired and just want to get into bed, the whole thing is something I’d like to skip. Oh yeah – the other thing….removing mascara! Last night, I removed about 4 lashes along with my mascara!

FYI softener, essence and facial mists are mostly other words for toner lol and your eye cream is just over priced moisturizer in a smaller container 🙂

Should cut down those steps a bit!

I so agree with you, the older I get the more time and energy I have to spend on skin care (and in general all over) – especially resent it before bedtime. I did practically none of this before I turned 50, those were the days!

I’d have to say hand moisturizing as well. Besides disliking the feeling of lotion on my hands, I’m terribly apathetic … until I see my hands without lotion, but then I still don’t want to put lotion on. I’m trying to get better about it just for health reasons (cracked, irritated skin is not a proper barrier to infection). Still struggling.

Christine I am glad I am not the only one! I could not of said it better I am very lazy about putting moisturizer on my body. The skin on my body isn’t really very dry but even when my legs & hands are very dry in the winter I am too lazy to fix it!

I hate waiting for products to absorb or dry before adding the next. I also have a hard time figuring out the order of application if it says anything except serum of moisturizer.

foot cream!:) even tho my feet are dry and older looking. Also sometimes in the summer, I don’t apply SPF to my body!!! prefer less sticky formulations!:)

Two things, plucking facial hair and lining my body. I’m great in summer with legs from knee down and face year round, hands daily but that used to not be.

I agree with Christine, I am lazy about this too, I have tons of nice lotions to use and they sit there and stare at me. I’m trying to change, I have a Faciablaster and to use it you have to apply oil to the body part you are blasting and it feels nice afterward to be moisturized! So moisturizing here I come!

Washing face before going to bed when already sleepy and tired.
Applying sunblock (I need it badly I’m a runner and very pale but hate it) my favorite is Coppertone or Hawaiian Tropic don’t find them too sticky and work.
Moistetuzing hands and feet. I use Eucerin for both heels of feet and wear the rest in hands, also like Coconut salt scrub. Hate sticky feeling from any product including face foubdation.

I’m with you on this one, applying lotion to my body is the worst thing ever for many reasons. My skin dries what seems like instantly after getting out of the shower so adding moisturizer right away is super important. It sucks because I use two to three different items.

I use Josie Maran argan infinity oil on my face and neck only and/or alternate with aveeno. My upper body I use regular Lubriderm lotion then for my lower half I use a mix of lotion and waxier/greasier cream to have added moisture as it’s needed. Then depending on many things I may use my hand cream on my hands.

It can be become exhausting.

I despise applying eyeshadow now, so much so that I haven’t worn it in almost two years. My eye makeup is made up of solely filled-in brows and black smudged eyeliner. I still get compliments on my makeup looks, so I don’t feel like it’s necessary to do the extra step of applying eyeshadow.
