A literature collection, I know nerd alert. Or a gothic victorian theme!
I was going to reply with the same – a literature themed one, like Mac VV, but Mac LH for Literary Heroines – you could have Jane Eyre, Emma, Elizabeth Bennet, Dorothea Brooke, Juliet, Cleopatra, Helen, Catherine Earnshaw…it goes on forever! Creating the looks would be the most fun <3
Can we add Collette to this? And allow one male-Poe? Mary Shelley? Whohoo this is fun…Dorian Gray Cosmetics, sure to hold back the hands of time ;D
love it. also thinking Lady Godiva– HD non-transfer body perfecting makeup to cover imperfections, flawless elegant medieval-themed makeup. all items named for items in the Godiva chocolate collection in packaging themed on Lady Godiva, the chocolate or the name of the piece (lion of belgium pressed powder in a shield shaped container, choc covered cherry gloss in choc cherry shaped container, palette in packaging like their gold boxes, set in tin like their annual xmas tins). and some sort of prize involving Godivas and maybe NYC trip or spa.

the only killer would be that it would work best is a luxury-minded AND theatrical minded line like maybe illamasqua so it would probably be expensive AND I’d want it all.

Awesome idea guys!! I am so glad there are other “word nerds” like myself who also happen to love make up. Some of the lit themes you brought up could be interpreted so many ways but I bet some pretty looks could come out of them!!

I like the literature theme idea! The names of the products could be famous quotes and the colors would have to translate the essence of the quote or book it’s from.
I agree with the Gothic Victorian theme!!! That would be gorgeous.
Ok so I have 4 fish tanks, including a 150 gallon freshwater and ALL I can think about while I’m feeding them is how gorgeous all the colors and patterns are! I want a full underwater collection, not just the dabbling like the MAC Lure collection. Freshwater, saltwater, brackish… Ocean, lake and aquarium I find so much inspiration from aquatic life. You could do an Australian reef collection, a deep water zone… Eels, Tangs, puffers, Sargasso, sea horse and stingray. Ya I’m obsessed and last night I felt compelled to order Stila’s Lionfish eyeliner because well I live the idea.

Or a similair collection but inspired by parrots & exotic birds , since I work with them and when I look at my birds I think the same thing about all the colours .
You both have excellent ideas! I’m a huge animal lover and I think the fish and/or bird theme would be amazing. The colors found in nature are the most beautiful of all.

I would just die for a Star Wars collection. Not even just because I love Star Wars, but because I there’s potential for some gorgeous colors. I would buy the entire collection in a hot minute.

im still waiting for some sort of harry potter makeup / nail polish collection. im such a sucker for packaging / names, id buy everything available lol.
I was just about to post the same thing about Harry Potter, I’d especially buy it if they weren’t just trying to bank without effort, and come up with some truly clever names and packaging (automatic eye liner packaging that looks like wands, a beautiful silver duochrome shimmer shadow called expecto patronus etc. Of course, the item would still have to be good quality too, but I won’t judge it as harsh as I do on a regular basis.
Oh my lord, Expecto Patronum eyeshadow = best idea anyone has ever had, ever, including the wheel. MAC should’ve been working on this for release next month instead of pushing out all these mediocre collections.

they could have SO much fun with that!!!!! like Jeanie said, also they could divide it into segments- Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and maybe eve like a seperate part for the dark lord. Some of the things could be inspired by Diagon Alley (Gringotts, Gambol and Japes, Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes etc.) omg I’m like hyperventilating, I love Harry Potter- can you tell? hardcore fan right here 😉

And a beauty powder called Here Comes the Sun with a rising sun picture superimposed into in, like the seahorse from Marine Life, call it an “awakening power”. Will wake up your tired skin! Lol! I want glitter!… and lots of it. I love mac reflects glitters and make up for ever diamond powders but isn’t it time for some new colours??? In terms of a theme I would love a fairy/pixie theme… with lovely greens, aquas, baby pinks, golds and silvers, and LOTS of glitter please!? 😀

I’d really like to see some kind of comic book / superhero collection. Like Wonderwoman but less tacky. Batman would be amazing…think of all the glamourous characters!

Pin-up/50’s theme collection. Maybe it would be more profitable with some celebrity name, like Von Teese. I’d be glad with any “retro-like” collection, from the 20’s -this would be love- to the 60’s,…some vintage packaging (overall if it was about the 20’s-30’s), just like in the era and that vibe. It would be quite attractive and I think quite people would be enthusiastic about it 😉

I would like to see something made up entirely of new products. Like if they released the Big Bounce shadows, Studio Fix Lash, Magically Cool powders and some other products all in one collection. Wouldn’t that be so cool? They wouldn’t be able to do any repromotes 😉
I would love to see a fashion icon collection that’s maybe broken down into other smaller collections, like Venomous Villains. Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Twiggy, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly. It would be so pretty!

Someone on MUA had been talking about 80s themed collections and I had thought it would be totally awesome to see a Fraggle Rock collection (from MAC or UD, maybe, one of the ones that do cute but decent quality things).

And the Marilyn Manson lipstick would be a cool idea for Viva Glam too. I know Manson would probably never do it, but it’s an awesome thought! =]

I would love more cultural collections. I can see a ireland inspired collection with some gorgeous emerald greens,a middle eastern with jewel tones and an african collection with bronzers & earthy tones.

so you know the song “my my time flies” by Enya? and how it sort of displays different important hirtorical times? I think that would be so cool in a MAC collection! imgaine!! there could be like ancient Greece, egypt, walking on the moon, and everything else!

Theyu could also do a food inspired collection- maybe with milksk=hakes and stufff? and it could smell good too!! and whinnie the pooh and disney princesses and a light collection? that sounds weird, but they could show like different yellows and maybe repromote lightscapade as all the colours from the spectrum, including the broken down colours of the rainbow, deep violets, bright oranges, rich reds… which leads me to a crayola collection? I’d love a Rainbow Brite collection! It happened to be my favorite cartoon when I was a kid. And there’s tons of possibilities since every color of the rainbow is represented in the color kids. I’d love just tons of different lip colors and finishes! And some really cool falsies too.
I agree with the space theme. Too Faced has moon shadows and they’re all great, but all seem black at the same time… so it’d be nice to see MAC’s take on it. I think a proper Nicki Minaj collections is on order as well. It’s long overdue! Obvious reasons of course… color, Color, COLOR! LOL AND special packaging of course… though I’d still buy it, I’d still be highly irritated if it was all black… then again, now that I’m thinking… All black may chic the brightness of it all! (if that makes sense) Compromise… keep it black… but sexy it up like the Hello Kitty Collection black!

Makeup through the ages – makeup you can wear in your 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and so on.
A sort of white-glow theme with a beautiful brow highlighter shadow, white primer/base, and a lip gloss that has a sort of blue-white glow/sheen to it.
I think an African safari themed on would be phenomonal especially if mac did it. Ya know animal skin patterned boxes, funky neutrals and bright blues and greens for the wet season. I think there could be some really cool blushes/highlighters/bronzers. Like a giraffe one with a browny red bronzer color and a yellow gold higlighter… i would by the whole collection!
