Bronze & Blue Look with Estee Lauder, Giorgio Armani, & Urban Decay
Bronze & Blue Look with Estee Lauder, Giorgio Armani, & Urban Decay
I’m trying be more organized and do things more methodically, which means trying to review products more timely! I wanted to test out a few products from Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess ’11 edition, while also trial the wear of a new tinted moisturizer (this is the fifth time I’ve worn it, though). I hope to review several of the products I tested here today and tomorrow 🙂
You will need the following…
- Eyes: Estee Lauder Pink-Teal Shadow Stick (peachy-pink/teal), Giorgio Armani #6 Eyes to Kill Intense (bronze), Urban Decay Flipside Eyeshadow (green-teal), Urban Decay Haight Eyeshadow (blue-teal), Hourglass G*psy Eyeshadow Duo (beige), Giorgio Armani #13 Eyes to Kill Intense (black), Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara (black)
- Face: theBalm BalmShelter Tinted Moisturizer (Light/Medium), Guerlain Les Violettes Mineral Powder (03)
- Cheeks: Estee Lauder Sea Star Bronzing Blush (pink bronze)
- Lips: Guerlain Mitsouko (140) Rouge Automatique (pinked peach)
- Brushes: 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 222 (fluffy crease brush), 263 (angled eyeliner brush), 116 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Pink-Teal = use an eyeshadow base (for this look); Sea Star = Bobbi Brown Nectar
For eyes, start by applying Pink-Teal shadow stick as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249–take the teal side and apply it to the lid, then apply the pink side above the crease and lightly on brow. Apply #6 eyeshadow to the inner third of the lid with the 239. Next, apply Flipside eyeshadow to the middle of the lid with the 239. Apply Haight eyeshadow to the outer third of the lid and into the crease with the 222. Use G*psy eyeshadow to highlight the brow bone and diffuse the crease color with the 217. Apply #13 eyeshadow on the lower lash line, and then smudge with #6 eyeshadow using the 219. Finish by sweeping lashes with Inimitable Intense mascara.
For cheeks, apply Sea Star blush on the apples of the cheeks and pat towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply Mitsouko lipstick for a complementing lip.
Christine, you’ve totally outdone yourself. The look is BEAUTIFUL.
Also, cute headband!
Thank you, Vijaya!
I know you’re busy, but I would love a video of this look, it’s so rich and colorful. I just bought both shadow stick duos from Estee Lauder a week or so ago, so it would be neat to see them in action.
Thanks for the suggestion, Jezi! At this time, I’m not doing any video tutorials though 🙁
Wow, you look really beautiful!
Thanks, De!
Hi Christine! Do you wear any concealer or corrector on the undereye areas here?
Nope!
What?! No way! Do you use any skincare products to help with the bruising look under eyes? If so, what? How can I make it so that I can get away with no dark circle make and not look like I’ve been punched in the face?
I don’t use any eye-specific skincare products (just the same moisturizer for my face). Dark circles are often hereditary, and I’m fortunate that mine aren’t too bad and I’m not prone to a lot of darkening in that area. You can’t make it go away entirely – you can only improve your lifestyle (drink more water, sleep more) and conceal.
Super pretty on you! The bronze grounds the whole loon just enough for it to be bold but demure.
Thank you!
How gorgeous are you?! This is fabulous! 🙂
Thanks, Marissa!
This is a really cute spring/summer look Christine, Mitsouko looks gorgeous on you. I have to ask though, do you remember where you got the headband? It’s darling!
Nordstrom! 🙂 Most of mine are from there… it’s a good thing I haven’t physically been at one in awhile, because I never could leave without a new one!
Absolutely stunning!! And this tinted moisturizer looks great on you!
Thank you, Isabell!
This is a beautiful look! And your skin looks beautiful too, I like the blush as well 🙂
Thanks so much, GJ!
I want this look. On my face. Now.
Haha!
These colors really make your brown eyes POP! I love that you did a bit of a smokey eye with different colors!
Thanks, JoElla! 🙂
Oh my that look is just toooooo sweet on you! The hairband is the perfect touch.
How are you liking the moisturizer?

I love this look. I have both Flipside and Haight but they don’t apply this pigmented on me. Hmmm…I’ll have to fiddle around with some products. I love this look! Maybe I’ll try it today ^__^
Thanks so much, Joyce!
LOVE that Armani bronze eyeshadow – gosh, it’s gorgeous. I’d love to know a sub for the Armani bronze, as Armani’s not readily available where I am.
Thank you, Mariella!
MAC Woodwinked or Romp
THIS is awesome. I love the sharp line and that’s a killer blue!
Cute headband!
Thanks, Avin!
Hi Christine This is kind of random but I really want to ask you if you knew Mellan’s name is a Swedish word or is it a coincidence? I really like his name though 🙂
It’s short for Magellan, after the explorer! 🙂
oh hehe sorry
I wouldve never thought of bronze going in the inner corner. This looks lovely on you 😀
Thank you, Charlene! It’s a surprisingly good combo – bronze and blue.
Gorgeous! Shame that lipstick looks so sheer though
Thanks a lot, Charlotte!
Christine, your skin looks flawless here! What a beautiful look.
Thank you, Gina! 🙂
I like the colors a lot but the shimmer make them look a little bit cheep….
Thanks for letting me know, Dimitri!
Gorgeous!
Thanks, Lemish!
I love it! And your headband is super cute!
What Urban Decay shadow would you recommend using in place of the Armani #6?
Maybe UD Ruthless?

Thank you, Shilpa!
Love it. That bronze color is to die for!
Thanks so much, Ashley!
this is an extremely pretty look and picture. 🙂
Thanks, Molly!
This look is perfect! You look absolutely stunning!
Thanks a lot, Belinda!
I swear everything looks great on you! Mitsouko is softer and pinker than I expected, which means I might be able to make it work. I’m loving that EL Sea Star blush since I picked it up- curious to know what you think.
It doesn’t belong under “Flamboyant Oranges” that’s for sure. When I wrote up the post last night, I had to double check the number of the lipstick, because I was like, “Wait, this isn’t orange…”
You are just sooo gorgeous!!!! I really love this look!
Thank you, Brooke!
Gorgeous!!
Thanks, Rachel!
I love this look (its GORGEOUS!) – I would love to dupe this! thanks!
Updated with dupes for LE products 🙂
Thanks Christine!
Oh wow, love the look but … your skin looks flawless girl!!!
Thanks, Margot!
Yay! I love seeing you with more color on your lids! you can wear brighter colors than me since your skin tone is a bit darker which is so nice to see! Cause if it were me I’d look like MIMI!!! -_-
Thanks a lot, Shayna Marie!

Very pretty look Christine…love the headband!

Oh Christine, if YOU need to be more organized, I wonder what that says about ME?! Haha. I don’t know how you do it; you’re amazing!
I am forever organizing!
Christine, oh my gosh. This look is so unique and absolutely STUNNING. Thanks for putting so much hard work into the site. We all really appreciate it!
Thank you, Sophia!
My God, Christine – your eyes positively stand “pop” out with this makeup. This suits you remarkably!
Thanks a lot, Dianna!
Hi Christine,
This look is amazing. Love how it makes your eyes pop!! Could you please recommend a MAC dupe for UD Haight eyeshadow? UD is not available in my country. Thank you!!
You could try Freshwater – it’s the closest one.
Yay!! thank you very much!! Freshwater here I come!!
This look is beautiful on you! One of my recent favorites, for sure. I am looking forward to the Rouge Automatique release based on your earlier review. (So far, I can’t find it available online anywhere.) I particularly love the blush and lipstick on you in this look.
Thanks, Nicole! Bergdorf put it up!
Lovely! I wish you’d bring back video tutorials, though. :<
Thank you, Jenn!
Hi! I love this look! Do you have any cheaper dupes for the Armani #6 color preferably drugstore?
Thanks!
I haven’t seen anything this intense in the drugstore 🙁
Wow, this is gorgeous! You look lovely 🙂
Thanks so much, Gaelle!
That teal color of your headband is definently your color! You look stunning in those colors!

Thank you, Lindsay!
Gorgeous ~Love the eye make up so so much!! I’ve tried it out, by using 88 colour palette…Can’t wait for more looks =)
Thanks, Fionah!
Best make up you’ve ever done (until now). You’re superb. Bronze and blue are surprisingly going together so well because they are so radically different. It’s really inspiring and I think I’ll do such a make up in the nextcoming days. Go figure, that’ll be the first time in 15 years of make up that I’ll ever do someone else’s look! It’s saying a lot!
Thank you, Nathalie! I’m honored!
Ohhh, a flowery headband! And your hair is so long. 🙂 Also for fly away brow hairs, can I suggest MAC’s Clear Brow Finisher? It’s a brow wax my sister got for me and it’s marvelous for making my brows look polished (even when they need some work).
Thanks for the suggestion, Carolina!
The colors really bring out the little bit of green in your eyes!
Thanks, Jamie!
Christine, I read your posts regularly but I’ve never really commented. Just wanted to let you know today that I really like this look! I lovehow it’s colorful but is balanced out by the neutral eyeshadows.
Would you be able to do more looks like this (perhaps a bit more toned down), with a pop of color but subtle enough to wear to work? I love wearing bright colors, but I work in a pretty conservative environment so I don’t want to stand out too much. Thanks!
Thanks a lot, Amy! There are 600+ looks in the archives – all sorts of variations that I’ve done over time:)
The blending is beautiful! and I really love the lower lash line as well 🙂 very inspiring!
Thank you, Gala!
love this look! the blue is really making your eyes pop! will have to try this!
Thanks so much, Somhrita!
Your eyes look stunning!!
Thanks, Valerie!
your skin is absolutely GLOWING, christine! the look is gorgeous, but the way your skin looks really steals the show for me (:
Thanks a lot, Hiromi!
Wow… One of your best looks ever! Plus, the tinted moisturizer looks great on you.
Thank you, Rosamaria!
Aww. You look so cute Christine. You used colors that I think look great on you.
Thanks a lot, Shontay!
You look really beutiful with this look and your hair down 🙂 your boyfriend is a lucky man indeed
Thanks, Amanda!
You pull off these colours so wonderfully. I would look silly with such a bright blue 🙁
Thank you, Jane!
Nice!
Thanks, Shelley!
That is UTTERLY gorgeous – very sophisticated and elegant but with a wicked little pop of colour, I love it!
I adore your headband too, it reminds me of China Glaze For Audrey (which I know you love!) – so pretty!
Haha, I’m pretty sure when I got the headband I took photos of it with For Audrey!
This is BEAUTIFUL 😀 I have Haight because it came in the BOS3 and I never knew what to do with it. I also have Flipside so this is great! Thanks so much for the inspiration ^^
Thanks a lot 🙂
What a great look! I didn’t realize blue and bronze would look so good together 🙂 Can you suggest a possible MAC dupe for the Giorgio Armani #6 eyeshadow you used on the inner lid? Thanks!
Thanks a lot, Amanda!:) Woodwinked, but it pulls redder!
What did you apply on your eyebrows?
MAC Espresso
Gorgeous color combo! You’ve inspired me to try it myself!
Thanks a lot, Mirna!

Thanks, LM!
This is so BEAUTIFUL Christine! You are such an inspration.

Thank you, Katrin!
can you say STUNNING? OMG, the look is awesome and you wear it so beautifully.
I want this look transposed on my face, for I lack the skills even to come close to this look.
Thanks, Liz! 🙂
Best look you’ve ever done, hands down. You’re stunning!
Thanks a lot, Kristen!
very pretty…the teal really brings out the brown in your hazel eyes. it’s amazing how your eyes seem to change colour with whatever you are wearing!
i’d like to try out the armani eyes to kill and the EL pink-teal, but for now i am on an eyemakeup freeze 🙁 my eyes have been acting up so i’m trying to give them a break for a few months! i guess it’ll be all about blush and lipsticks for a while…
(ps. love the headband too…)
Thank you, Aradhana! 🙂 At least the Armani is permanent, so you can grab ’em then! Hope your eyes feel better <3
Ohhh so pretty! I feel inspired to wear some colorful makeup. This look is a great place to start. Love it!
Thanks, Tina!
I looked at your review for Mitsouko first, and when I saw the look you wore with it I immediately thought “please let there be a tutorial, please let there be a tutorial!” You look awesome :).
Haha! 🙂
omgomgomgomg GORGEOUS! STUNNING! BEAUTIFUL!
haha this look is truly amazing Christine!
Thank you, Sara!
Oooh, I really like this a lot!
Thanks a lot, Nekosan!
This look is beautiful! Do you think delft paint pot could be used as a dupe for the base? What would be a good MAC dupe for the bronze color?
Thanks!
I think you could! 🙂 MAC Romp or Woodwinked are similar to #6 but it depends on if you lay it over a teal base.
Haight is quite possibly my favorite shadow /ever/, so of course I love this look. I may have to try this, with some substitutions.
It’s a great shade! 🙂
*gasp*
Very nice eye makeup, cute headband, looooovvvveeee the total look!
Thanks a lot, Adelita!
You have the eyes of a goddess. I absolutely love the look here.

I’m not doing tutorials at this time, sorry!
oh my goodness, this is so pretty! Probably my favorite look you’ve done; you look absolutely stunning. I love the headband and the makeup, everything! 🙂
Thanks, Sarah! 🙂
Love it!Thinking you could substitute some eye colors, w/ Maui Wowie,Nylon and Sin from UD; and use the sin primer potion, as well. Gorgeous!!! And I love it on you!!! You have so many good ideas. Thank you for doing every looking and sharing it with the world! You rock!!! =)
Thank you so much, Denise! 🙂 I think you could!
This is really pretty! Not sure if I can pull it off as-is, but with some adjustments I think it would be excellent for a shoot. 🙂
Thanks a lot, Ryou!
This is super amazing – you look insanely awesome.
Thank you, Dini!
Surprisingly beautiful! Spring feelings!! You look absolutely lovely!!
Thanks, Ana!
One of the prettiest looks!
Thanks a lot, Lorraine!
Love this look Christine!
Thanks a lot, Dani!
Out of all the looks you’ve done, this one definitely takes the cake, cookie, pudding, ice creme cherry…lol..You get my point. It looks insanely gorgeous on you. I felt inspired by it that I did a look using urban decay’s smog, shattered, sellout, mac’s sea and sky, dandizette, quarry, and siahi fluidline. I do have to say, I love the bronze with the blue. It couldn’t look more fabulous! I could sit here and stare at your eyes with this look all day!!! hahah
Aw, thanks, Miriam!
You eyes look so exotic with this look…gorgeous!!
Thanks! 😉

Such a beautiful look! And I love the way your hair looks down 🙂 so beautiful.
Thanks, Ally!
yesterday i bought Urban Decay’s Deluxe Shadow Box (i was drawn to the intensely beautiful colors and that there were NO glitter shadows) and i today i wore this awesome gold/teal/purple combo in a soft gradient: Honey in inner lid, Graffiti in entire crease, Ransom on outer corner of crease. then i used L’Oreal HIP Chrome Eyeliner in Gold. and MAC See Sheer lipstick. very springy!
Gorgeous!
that is so stunnin.. omg i so love ur headband.. whr did u get it christine.?
Nordstrom
beautiful look
christine: you know how you can;t wear eyeliner on the top lid..well have u ever tried using an eyeshadow as a liner? Just a thought 🙂
Yes, I have tried that. It is not the product – it is anything, including a brush, touching the area.
Amazing!!!
Thanks, Liron!
so cute!
Gorgeous lippie! i LOVE this look!
Bellissimi colori!
Your eyes are amazing in these shades! I’m reminded of the Mediterranian Sea, a vacation in Greece or the Almalfi Coast. LOL! Seriously a great “look” is like a great song. It can take me on a journey if I use my imagination. Thanks Beauty!
Gorgeous!! You’re so talented Christine! I hope you don’t let the hateful people on Youtube stop you from making more tutorials. I always love your color combinations. HUGS!
Thanks a lot, Jennifer!
Mama mia, do you realize you are using SIX shadows in this look? Really, Christine, who has the time for that, besides you?
I love your reviews, but these looks are way too complicated in your instructions. I often use three shadows, max.
And I think the blue is a bit too strong in the pics. Other than that, I love your posts!
If you want to use three eyeshadows, do so! 🙂 Nobody is saying you have to use six – I’m only explaining what I used. This look took about 10 minutes, so I don’t see what’s wrong with that 🙂 If you don’t have ten minutes to spend on your eye makeup, just do what you need to do to make the look work for *you* IF you even like it. I very rarely spend longer than 15 minutes on my eye makeup. I do my makeup the way I like to do it – just like I would expect and want you to do it how you feel good about it. Makeup is supposed to be fun, let’s try not to suck the joy out of it for others by implementing rules 🙂
Hey Christine! Great look!
I wonder, though, whether this light chalky blue you are wearing is the best choice for your skin tone. It seems to wash you out, and that’s a shame.
Thanks for letting me know.
