I really like Tresseme for curly hair, but I had a really great one from Fekkai as well. Honestly, I preferred the Fekkai, but went with Tresseme for the price. Both are good, though!

Jessica Avatar

I’ve tried the Tresseme and I have straight/wavy hair…it really didn’t do much for me. Didn’t remove any dirt/oil, but at least made my hair smell nice. I definitely wouldn’t repurchase.

SuchaB Avatar

Yep. Love Batiste! I use it over 4 days a week. I have long hair and I wash em every 3 days or so. This takes off the oil and the smell 🙂

Hmm…I am confused, because I can see two questions. Maybe I am losing it lol

I think the question should be: What makes it the worst? He He

I honestly have not tried any dry shampoos, so I can’t wait for everybody’s opinion to be seen because maybe it would make my shopping easier and money-saving.

I have fallen in love with Sauve’s dry shampoo. and its only $2.50. If you follow the directions and work it in with your fingers after letting in sit for a couple minutes, then it doesn’t leave any white residue. It’s becoming an HG product for me, and has saved me when i oversleep!!

o0Stacey0o Avatar

Am I doing something wrong, because the bottle literally lasted me ONE use. One. Seriously. Was I shaking it too much? Ugh. I really wanted to love this one but I know I have to be doing SOMETHING screwy.

CJ Avatar

Toni&Guy! Love it. I’ve also tried Bumble&Bumble’s Hair Powder, but that was just a mess. My hair is black/brown and the black powder was just messy.

Jess Avatar

I couldn’t agree more! I think the smell was worse than the product not really working for me. I miss the Salon Grafix dry shampoo for black hair:( that was so awesome! Super cheap + effective. But all good things have to come to an end.

PSST is good for when i can’t spend a lot of $, but right now i’m using the bumble and bumble spray dry shampoo for black/dark brown hair. It’s pretty awesome (and is pigmented enough to hide my roots in between dye jobs), but it can be a little messy. I wish more companies made colored dry shampoo for us dar haired gals!! I hate when i have to blend the white spray into my hair. It’s a huge pain, especially bc i use dry shampoo when i’m in a rush to get out the door.

It’s gotta be Batiste for me. Yes, it sort of leaves a white residue on my dark hair, but I usually run a blow dryer through it really quick and its all good and volumized. I’ve used only a few other dry shampoos so I can’t judge them all, but Batiste gave me the best results for sure.

I love the Oscar Blandi loose powder version. I’ve tried many and like that one the best. Honorable mention for Pssst and Batiste. Worst is the Tresemme spray, it was awful, left my hair much dirtier then when I started.

Wasn’t this topic a “hit list” a few weeks ago?

Leah Avatar

I swear I remember this from a few weeks ago, too. But that’s okay.. just another opportunity for me to sing Batiste’s praises!

NJ Avatar

Tresseme hands down. I tried several others sometimes 3 time the price with the same or worse results. I tried Oscar Blandi and my hair looked a zillion times worse than BEFORE I used it. I travel a lot and always take my tresseme with me..its so great for touch-ups and extra volume.

Maureen Avatar

I know it’s not really marketed as “dry shampoo” so much, but I love the Bumble and Bumble hair powder. Yes, I’m a Bb addict. No, I do not own the hair powder, because I’m so obsessive about washing my hair anyway.

Cassie Avatar

i love psst.. i have also tried rockaholic and i thought i was over rated. i like the smell of psst better and it also worked better.. oscar bland worked well but i wasn’t loving the smell. and i tried tiresome and thought it was AWFUL!

Lizzi Avatar

I second everybody that said Oscar Blandi. I wash my hair every other day, but sometimes I good even longer without washing. This stuff removes oils and doesn’t build up or feel gross. The lemon scent is a plus.

Amy Avatar

As of right now, I prefer TIGI Rockoholic’s DIrty Secret. There was one by the brand SAMY that is my all time favorite, but I haven’t been able to find it anywhere for a good year or so. I’m a huge smell person, which is why I don’t like most. Tresemme’s smells wonderful, but it didn’t seem to do much else for me. Big Sexy Hair’s also smelled pretty good, but it left my hair feeling extremely chalky, although it might work for someone who doesn’t have incredibly fine, thin hair like me! Oscar Blandi, Fekkai, and Ojon have decent products, but I just can’t stand the smell of them. T3’s was also a good one.

Debby Avatar

I’ve only tried 2 – Oscar Blandi (powder) and Suave (spray), and of those, I prefer the Oscar Blandi. The Suave just makes my hair feel chunky! I’ll keep trying it…

Sara Avatar

I haven’t tried very many dry shampoos, but to be honest out of the ones I’ve tried, baby powder works just fine and it’s super affordable. I’m not a huge fan of the scent of it but thankfully it doesn’t linger.

Amy Avatar

I have tried several different kinds; TIGI Rockaholic, Beyond The Zone Rock On, Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Dry Shampoo, Tresseme…I think my favorite is the Rockaholic, but I seem to get the same results regardless of brand, which is a good thing. The only one I didn’t love is the Big Sexy Hair, I didn’t like that it made my hair feel like it had sand in it.

mkdallas Avatar

For several years, I swore by Ojon Rub-Out spray, which I truly believe is still the gold standard. But I have found a GREAT substitute in Batiste, which is $7 a can vs. $24. Honestly, if I had to give each a grade, the Ojon would receive an A+ and the Batiste an A…that’s how close they are!

Jasmine Avatar

I have tried several but PSSSST is my favotite! It did exactly what I think a dry shampoo should do – remove oil and get me through another day without having to wash/dry/straighten/style my hair 🙂 I have a lot of fine hair that leans towards being curly. The Tresseme stuff was BAD. It made my hair oiler and sticky (but you know I had to try it for the price!)

Karina Avatar

Man, I really like the Tresemme dry shampoo! I just used it recently and was very impressed, particularly with the smell. It smelled like I’d just showered, which is just what I’m looking for when it comes to hair products. I’ve also used the Oscar Blandi spray AND the powder…and I while I thought the spray was awesome, it doesn’t compare to Tresemme’s dry shampoo. And Oscar Blandi’s powdered shampoo just sucks–it turns my hair grey! My vote goes to Tresemme, hands down.

Sarah Avatar

I love the Oscar Blandi loose powder! The spray made my hair crunchy and then when I brushed it out it was greasy… But the loose powder is awesome! It only takes a little, I shake it on my roots, rub it in, let it soak up any excess oil, and then brush my hair. It mattifies it, but doesn’t leave a white tint, and my hair is medium auburn. It also has a nice lemony scent that is clean, but doesn’t clash with any other products you might be wearing! I have dry, coarse hair that looks awful the same day that I wash it (gets really frizzy and full), and I dye it red (most notorious hair color for fading!), so this is a HG product for me, since I would just fry my hair if I washed it every day and also had to re-dye more frequently! This way, I get to keep my color AND my hair stays nice and soft for longer. If anyone has similar hair issues but is worried about shampooing less often, try dry shampoo! It has been a wonderful addition to my hair-care routine!

Best dry shampoo id say is oscar blandi loose powder dry shampoo right now. I have blonde hair so the white powder blends in well n absorbs oil well n I can put in quite a bit of it to totally refresh the hair.I love the klorane dry shampoo when I can afford it but now my sephora stores aren’t selling it. Sad. Renee furter wasn’t too bad either. I dislike psst, tresemme, suave, oscar blandi regular spray, ojon, bumble n bumble, they all did nothing for me n my oily 2nd day hair.

Stephanie Avatar

I am so shocked that people actually like the Tresseme shampoo! I hated it so much. I agree about Ojon, but I think Oscar Blandi would be my first choice.

Shelly Avatar

I love Oscar Blandi’s dry shampoo in powder form. You just have to make sure you don’t overdo it or it can look too powdery, but when used correctly it makes a huge difference. Haha, I’m down to washing my hair every three days and no one can tell the difference.

Ida R Avatar

I absolutely love Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo. I have tried a lot of the other brands (Oscar Blandi/Tresseme/Batiste/Sauve/Klorane/TIGI/John Frieda) and it works the best. It is pricey but I get it off of Amazon for a little bit cheaper. I have really oily hair/scalp and on that day a week that I just don’t have time to shower, I use Rene Furterer.

amanda Avatar

i liked ojon, and kinda sorta like tresemme if just for the price.. cake also makes a great powder dry shampoo and it comes in brown for those of you who worry about the white look. but i feel if youre going to buy a powder, just use baby powder.. works just as well!

meme Avatar

Oscar Blandi – but only the non aerosol one – the one you pouf the powder out of the bottle into your hair….the best – I can go an extra 4 days without washing if I need to. It’s a MUST if you know anyone in the hospital!

Elaine Avatar

Hate the smell of batiste, so I’m now using Klorane 🙂 Smells like baby powder and doesn’t overwhelm anything else i’m wearing!

Allison Avatar

I’ve tried quite a few and I definitely recommend TIGI Rockaholic to everyone I know; I also just bought the Dry Conditioner (of the same brand) when I went to Ulta to pick up a fresh Dry Shampoo. So far I’m pleasantly surprised at the conditioner but have only used it once – spraying a fine mist starting at the halfway point to the ends of my hair, before curling. The TIGI Dry Shampoo gives volume, as well, and makes the hair keep its style all day!

kim Avatar

I use baby powder, because oil isn’t a problem for me anymore. My favourite has been Klorane but I only used it three times before it ran out and it was quite pricey. I just tried KMS makeover spray (a dry shampoo) and love it so far. It was about nineteen dollars for a bigger spray can and there seems to be a lot. The smell is nice. However, I only use dry shampoo on special occasion when I need it. Baby powder for daily use is fine for me!

You’re the only person I’ve seen who does not like the Oscar Blandi’s powdered shampoo. Perhaps you used too much/didn’t brush it in enough?
