Rescue Beauty Lounge Dead Calm Nail Lacquer

Rescue Beauty Lounge Dead Calm Nail Lacquer ($18.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is described as “an opaque navy, the same fathomless blue as the Gulf of Naples at dusk.”  It’s a really rich, deep dark navy blue.  I used two coats in the swatches, but I almost got away with one–it’s such an intensely pigmented formula that not much product is needed at all.

my thoughts on the formula: These are richly pigmented lacquers that have nuances in both the color and finishes. Each color is well-thought out, and I’ve yet to come across a poor performer in the brand’s color range. I needed two coats for opaque coverage.

Lovely color, I would say that American Apparel’s Passport blue may be an exact dupe both in color and quality of formula.

I agree that this brand is very expensive, but if the formula is pure perfection and if it’s a colour I really love, I think it’s worth every penny.

Might have to check out American Apparel’s Passport polish as Brittney suggested since it’s cheaper yet supposedly the quality is on par. Plus it’s easier for me to get hold of in Canada than Rescue Beauty Lounge.

Its just ok for me. I don’t really like cremes that much. I think OPI yoga to get this blue would be a dupe but with shimmer. Also why so expensive? It can’t be that great!
