China Glaze Crackle Collection for Spring 2011

China Glaze Crackle Collection

Roughed up grunge meets gorgeous glam! China Glaze brings a whole new level to the game with “Crackle” polish! Create endless edgy looks and make a statement with fun, fearless, color. Everyone has asked for it, and now China Glaze is giving it to them!

  • Lightning Bolt White crackle
  • Black Mesh Black crackle
  • Broken Hearted Pink crackle
  • Cracked Concrete Grey crackle
  • Fault Line Purple crackle
  • Crushed Candy Teal crackle

An innovative technology allows you to play with a wide array of color combinations and achieve an edgy, new wave look. This unique formula was developed to give your nails a “crackled” design over traditional nail color. Contrasting colors are used one over another to achieve a deconstructed shatter look that takes place right before your eyes. Instant art for your nails!

How do you do it? It’s easy! Apply your favorite China Glaze glitter, shimmer or crème. Depending on the color you are using, apply either one or two coats for full coverage. When the colored enamel is dry, brush on a thin layer of the Crackle color. Allow the Crackle to work its magic during dry time. After approximately 5 minutes when the crackled design has completely formed, apply a top coat to seal the design for prolonged wear.

China Glaze Crackle will be available starting February 2011 at Sally’s Beauty Supply and BSG in 12 piece displays and 3 pack color kits which will include a base color, a crackle glaze (Black Mesh, Broken Hearted or Crushed Candy) and a China Glaze Top Coat. China Glaze is free of DBP, toluene, and added formaldehyde.

I am so not impressed with the Katy Perry OPI shatter. These look so much better. I tried so many different ways and itwouldnt shatter much 🙁

Megan Avatar

I love that they are making more than one crackle color, unlike another brand of nail polish which is only making black (that is very hard to get!). I really love all the colors, except the white. I remember in the late 90’s this was really popular and the white looks like white out. The teal, pink, purple, grey and black will be lovely!

Carrie Avatar

I’ve seen some of these in store – I’m not a crackle fan, but the colored crackles are way more interesting looking then the simple black one, IMHO.

Wendy Avatar

I ordered 3 of the 6 from Transdesign intending to avoid the inevitably sold out displays in stores… and 8 days later, they are still processing my order, haha. So much for getting them early!

Stephanie Avatar

Me, too. I got all of them, and I noticed that they sold out before the date that they had planned to release them on the website. Hope we get them soon.

Heather Avatar

I want all of these except for maybe the grey crackle… I love China Glaze, so I know what my next purchase from them is going to be when it comes out 🙂 SO excited!

Jayda Avatar

I’m actually excited about this because I have been trying to find the OPI Black Shatter nail polish for the longest. It is sold out everywhere I look!

sarah Avatar

I am SO excited for these! They weren’t in yet the last time I was at my Sally’s (the Jewel collection was though) but I’m going to check often! Don’t want to miss them!

Claire Avatar

Innovative? I know for a fact Barry M (admittedly UK based) have being doing the exact same ‘crackle polish’ thing for a while (http://www.barrym.com/make-up-tutorials/video-tutorial.asp?vid=107)

But I also have recollections of a nail polish designed to do this being around in my teen years (now 26) I also recall the results where no where near as good as promised or pictured on the product I remember trying ‘back in the day’. Hence why I never bothered with the Barry M one nor will I with this one.

I can’t believe crackle polishes are coming back. when they went out of fashion in the 90s people were so harsh on the trend. it was one of those “we’re gonna regret this looking back.” so funny how things always come back around.

cristalle Avatar

Am i the only one that feel that the first impression of this collection are copying OPI katy perry collection black shatter? No originality at all): Thumbs down

Alannah Avatar

I’m the only one of my friends who isn’t loving this crackle line of polishes lately. I think they look pretty cool on other people, but I guess I just don’t really need to try it myself!

Yee Avatar

I can’t wait! I ordered the entire collection on amazon and I can’t wait to get it in the mail! I missed the shatter one by OPI but china glaze is so much better! More
Variety!

Courtney Avatar

Awesome! I have the OPI black crackle and really enjoy it. Adds new life to old colors, much like a matte topcoat. I’m just not sure what other colors I’d want.

Ani_BEE Avatar

I think you can buy spray paint in a home repair store that have the same effect. Really cool that they applied it to nail polish and that OPI doesn’t have a monopoly on it.

Marie Avatar

I’ll be buying the CG Crackle instead of OPI Shatter… mostly because I’m not going to support companies that are unnecessarily rude to bloggers.

I prefer CG’s formula and brush anyway 🙂

Morena123 Avatar

there’s a sally’s down the street!! yay i will be getting these.
So this was popular in the 90’s?? Hmm I have no idea where i was because I didnt see this trend.

Samantha Kara Avatar

I’ve ordered this myself (waiting for it to ship), and very excited to use it. I already own the OPI Shatter polish but I didn’t expect to.. ended up finding it Valentine’s Day in a set with another nail polish in the back of the store. I think the variation of colors will be awesome.

Quinctia Avatar

I like that the purple seems a little shimmery, though I think I saw that OPI was coming out with a silver…which is probably the most likely one I’d pick up. But I don’t know…I get bothered enough by texture with my glitter polishes, I don’t know that I’d be able to stand an uneven coating even if it looked neat.

Laura Avatar

Lov that crackle is back! For those that keep saying it’s a copy cat of OPI,.. crackle came out in the 90’s during the grunge era. Cover Girl made it. So none of this is new it’s just coming back!! Soooo excited!!! 🙂

Cassie Avatar

I bought the Barry M one when it came out in the UK last Oct and it’s a great way to add contrast/details without wasting too much time. Of course, my makeup philistine friends simply thought I had peeling nail polish.

I’m so happy that there are a few products you people can’t get in the States! After all, I’m so lemming after the Clarisonic Mia and that’s not out here until March this year.

Neshie Avatar

Its available on the Sally website.. which is like.. woo hoo lol.. I have a beauty club card AND i don’t have to explain to the husband why i need crackle nail polishes!

Mariella Avatar

UGH-when I think about how ugly chipped nail polish looks, I can’t help but wonder WHY anyone would deliberately go for this sort of look. Given a choice between good taste and “trend”, I’ll go with the former!

AnGeLwInGz Avatar

So thrilled! OPI Shattered is sold out everywhere. Is this L.E. as well? I went to Sally’s today and the girl there said she never heard of it.

Crystal Avatar

Soooo excited. 🙂 I called my Sally’s Beauty. They have them all & I am going to pick them up tomorrow. I was not so fortunate to pick up the OPI one. & I am glad I didn’t. If you happen to have a Sally’s card the girl told me they come out to like $4 a piece. 🙂

Rengirl Avatar

I want these badly but I am waiting a few weeks to make sure I am buying them because I want them and not just because I got caught up in the polish shatter hype.

Lacey Avatar

Wow…having flashbacks. I think I had a black or grey (or orange?) crackle polish back in maybe middle school or high school. It was some Halloween collection, I want to say, but I can’t remember the brand. I’m not old enough for fashion trends to be coming back around on me yet. Right?….Right? Playing with the color combinations might be fun, but I get enough side-eye with solid “non-traditional” polish colors at work, I don’t need to add crackle to the mix.

Amanda Enn Avatar

I know this shatter idea isn’t new, but it’s interesting that they release this just after OPI’s Katy Perry’s version. This completely beats it!

Natalie Avatar

I can’t help but feel this is riding Black Shattered’s coattails but it’s so awesome I don’t even care. I need Crushed Candy, Fault Line and Broken Hearted in my life NOW!

krystoljoi Avatar

OMG! I just purchased these yesterday! I was ticked because I couldn’t find the OPI and was going to give up. I kept thinking to myself “I don’t just want one color anyway, I wish it was sold in pink or purple or something” Then I saw these beauties on Amazon.com. I didn’t think they were something new. If I find these at my SBS, I’ll be more than happy to purchase them there and cancel my Amazon order. 😛

Andrea Avatar

THIS IS NOT AVAILABLE TILL MARCH!! I work at sallys and it does not come out until march, we havnt even gotten them in yet, you might want to fix that!

Becky Avatar

I picked up three of them today at Sally’s.. I called one location and they only had two shades left so I went to the other one that had four shades. Can’t wait to try them out!

Andrea Avatar

What I meant was it’s not technically on promotion till next month (when it will be out in the store) but all the stores that have them already just keep them in the back unless a customer wants them. Our store hasn’t gotten them yet 🙁 didn’t mean to come off like a bitch!

Brooke Avatar

LADIES~~ I didn’t have the time to look through all responses here, but if it hasn’t been said, Amazon.com does have the whole set for $35.00 shipped ($10.00 off sale)… I just bought my set, and excited to get it!

Megan Avatar

Just bought the black and teal… I plan on getting the pink, purple and maybe grey this weekend. Very easy to find. Walked right into Sally’s Beauty and they had all of them but the purple. 2 for around $9! Steal… they work great!

justjamiexo Avatar

I didn’t understand the rave about the shatter polish. In the UK a drugstore brand called BarryM came out with these last year already! These China Glaze ones look cool though, I like that they’re in different colors.

Annia Avatar

They had something similar @Isadora .. as soon as it was in the stores in my town you could see this on every second gal’s hand. It was so embarrassing when I saw a very young teeny in a restaurant next to me wearing the same like me X) ..
