5 Great Beauty Products for the Price of Good

  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencils Anniversary Set ($92.00 but a $264 value) contains a whopping fifteen full-sized eyeliners–including six never-before-seen shades along with nine celebrated favorites.  Though it’s a bit of an investment, for those who adore the 24/7 formula, it’s such a steal.
  • Korres High Drama Antioxidant Color Collection ($39.50 but a $117 value) is practically a look-in-a-box kind of package–and I’ve always been impressed by Korres’ textures.  Korres, in general, often puts together excellent value sets, from skincare to makeup to lip butters.
  • Urban Decay Naked Palette ($48.00 but a $230 value) includes twelve full-sized neutral eyeshadows that are beautiful on a variety of skin tones, work seamlessly together, and have excellent texture and pigmentation.  If you can track yours down, it is worth the effort–assuming you dig yourself some neutrals, of course.
  • Philosophy The Joy of Great Skin ($85.00 but a $156 value) will bring you some of Philosophy’s most popular products in a value set that will kick-off any new year, new skin resolutions you haven’t started.
  • Clarisonic Mia ($149) is, for all intents and purposes, the same device as the original Clarisonic (which goes for $195).  I think the Mia gives people a chance to purchase at a slightly more palatable price tag, but it really doesn’t feel or seem any different than the full-sized version!  (I know the “big” difference is that the Mia only has one speed.)

The all-new 2011 Jetta comes nicely equipped at a surprising new price. Which means, German engineering, more rear legroom, enough trunk space for just about anything and, above all, more looks from everybody on the road. It’s great. For the price of good.

The Clarisonic Plus is $178 on Amazon with free shipping. I feel like if you’re going to shell out $149 for the Mia, you should do yourself a favor and shell out the extra thirty bucks for the complete Mia. Having the body brush head and other speed options is well worth the extra money. Compared to how long you’ll be using the Clarisonic, thirty bucks is nothing.

The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencils Anniversary Set is a great set and each pencil is about 60% less in price compared to buying them in singles. I wish Make Up For Ever would do more value sets.

As Christine said, Korres is quite a good company. I picked up their set of ten full sized liners for $32 or $34 I think. Available at Sephora and direct from Korres. They have a great smooth texture and I loved how black the soft black was. Only worn once but it stayed on really well (with primer & shadow). Not as bright as the UD ones and I’m sure not as long lasting but at around $3 ea for full size liners, still a good deal.

Great deals Christine, thanks for posting them!

I’m excited for you for the big name advertising! Yay Temptalia! It would be really awesome if you could transition your blog to a full time job once you graduate (if that is what you wanted). Good luck!

Yay! I hope it works out for you! I cannot begin to express what a valuable resource Temptalia has been for me. When I first found your website I knew nothing about makeup and beauty, but you have helped so much. But not just that. Discounting a few bad seeds, you really bring out the best in people and I love reading the comments for the sense of community. Selfishly I hope you keep your blog forever, but whatever you do in life I’m sure you will succeed. 🙂

Hey Christine! I just had emergency surgery and I was on Sephora buying myself some stuff for being a tough chick, and I decided to get the Korres High Drama Color Collection! I’m excited, it’s a great way to try a new line, and the price is VERY comfortable! I still can’t pull the trigger on the UD pencils…but I will eventually 🙂
Thanks for all you do!!
