Do you feel compelled to buy something because it is limited edition?
Do you feel compelled to buy something because it is limited edition? How does it work out? Any ways you resist?
I’m much better about it now than I used to be. One way to resist is to try to find dupes from products you already own.
Got a question idea? Submit yours here.
YES! the bf teases me endlessly about it. Went crazy over to the beach and disney collection. i am hoping to be a lot better this year though! 🙂
I know I shouldn’t… but actually, I do! It’s just that sometimes, limited-edition products are prettier pieces… plus, they usually become pretty rare after a while… and I always think that I might regret not buying something limited-edition and later want it really bad! haha
Nope. Thanks your swatches and reviews, I can carefully decide whether or not I’ll actually use a product instead of running in to get it before everyone else does because it’s LE. So thanks Christine! 😀
Plus, LE almost always means that if I love it, I won’t be able to get it again when I’ve finished it. I’m not entirely sure I want to put myself through the emotion turmoil of that 😛
oop, I meant emotional!
i think when you first get into makeup, it’s harder to resist because you are still building your collection. once you’ve been around a while, there’s only so much more of the same color/ finish you can get before everything starts looking the same. i mean seriously how many of the same nude lipstick or taupe eye shadow or peachy pink blush does one need to own before their collection is complete? there are an infinite number of possibilities but once you hit the ceiling and start noticing a lot of dupes in your own collection, it becomes easier to resist limited edition collections.
of course, there is always the eternal search for the perfect product and the feeling that there is always something out there better than what you already have. for example, i have a lot of foundations because i have been looking for the perfect foundation to suit my needs. while i think each one that i have has its strengths and weaknesses and its time and place, i am still in the eternal search for the perfect everyday foundation. some of what i have is the perfect color or the perfect finish or long lasting or provides perfect coverage or gives enough sun protection but there is not one that is all of those things.
and so, the search continues…
It gets me every time! I tend to stock up on the limited edition make up that I like (which is most of it). Its almost like Y2K all over again at my house! lol
yes. i actually bought the estee lauder blue dahlia palette. also, urban decay’s alice in wonderland palette
yes! and i feel pressured to buy it quickly too =(
Sometimes. Like in the Barbie and Hello Kitty collection because I’m obsessed with the two I felt obligated to snatch the items up because of the packaging and just because it was limited edition Barbie and Hello Kitty.. But in other collections I don’t such as the newer MAC collections which I happen to not like very much at all.
all the time.
YES! Especially with the Peacocky collection.
It’s like “I know I have these color shadows somewhere already, but its LE”
Another example was the Pink Friday lipstick. It looks fine on me (Not my best color choice but ya) but I had to have it anyways, because it was so “exclusive.”
I can’t believe I buy into these marketing tools. lol
Now I promise myself I won’t buy anymore LE stuff unless it is really unique or it is the color I’ve been waiting for.
I have 60 lipsticks and I swear I haven’t even worn 10 of them, they are brand new just sitting in my stash.
That’s when you know you should stop for awhile.
Sometimes I feel compelled, but if I miss out on something, I just move on with my life. Lol even though I’m addicted to beauty products, I have to remember that there are more important things like bills to pay. Lol
When it comes to MAC limited edition collections, I tend to go a little crazy. Usually it’s with the ones that come with pretty limited edition packaging (like the amazing compacts for the To The Beach collection this last summer… I will definitely be de-potting my bronzers from now on to put them in that compact). For the past couple of collections I have been really good about not buying things too similar to what I have in my collection, because I want to use and enjoy every product I invest in.
With MAC not so much, just because they tend to have a new collection of products every week that are so similar to ones they’ve released previously, but with other brands definitely!!
yes!!! all the time! its horrible really, but thats why im going to buy the UD eyeliner set tomorrow >.< hahaha
Nope, LE produccts are not least bit tempting to me for I only products that I need and want and I am savvy enough to fall for the marketing gimmick of MU companies.
Oh my gosh yes! If it is something that I even remotely like I buy it because I get scared that if I don’t and then change my mind later it’ll be sold out. And I have a bad habit of buying back-ups of products because I know I’ll be upset if I end up really liking it and then I can’t buy it again. I need help! lol
I admit it, sometimes I do fall a victim to the whole LE thing. It’s usually only with nail polish though, cuz I feel like I’ll regret it later if I don’t snag it while I can. But it has to be a shade I actually like. I won’t buy an ugly shade just cuz it’s LE.
i do. i like owning something that i can’t necessarily get again. it makes the purchase feel special.
Yesssssssss. I confess.
I try not to, but sometimes it’s hard and I feel like I have to buy doubles because of the fact that it’s LE.
Yes I feel COMPELLED but I always safely window shop first online (which is where the compelling begins actually) BUT I always look for dupes in my stash.
I feel like it’s a waste of money to buy dupes so this prevents me from buying things for sake of LE. I will tend to look at LE parts of collections (i.e, NARS) first, over their permanent products. But sometimes it’s hard because they’re so pretty (but that’s how you end up with dupes, colours you love just from a different brand or packaging).
I used to all the time! But now I know better. I have way too many products at home that I purchased JUST BECAUSE they were limited edition. (I seriously have enough eyeshadow to last me a lifetime!) Now I know that things can always be duped.
Yes!! especially when the packaging is different!
i think it’s very pretty when you have 10 blushes, all from the same brand.. most of them are in the regular packaging.. and only a few stand out because they have a special packaging!! (exmp: MAC)
No, I detest the idea of LE and all the frenzied buying around it. I love both MAC and Lush, and both are known to do it – I stick with the perm items, thank you.
Actually, I was; even, not getting to buy something made me a little anxious.
But now, I’m not; I’ve learnt to buy only what I need, I don’t feel the imperious need of buying “everything” anymore… and I’m happy with that =)
it depends on the product. if it looks like it’ll be unique and it might work on me, then yes. MUST HAVE IT. i look to you for dupes, though and I’m super grateful when it turns out that the LE stuff is not that unique afterall.
On the other hand, if it’s a MAC pigment, all bets are off. I need them. All of them (well, 99% of them). I guess we all have a weak spot 🙂
YES, YES and YES! It’s terrible….
Not really, there’s plenty of stuff that isn’t limited edition that I don’t have already. I do pick up LE things sometimes, but if I miss something, I’m not all torn up about it.
I often feel the urge to buy new stuff simply because it’s LE but a quick price calculation before I ask an SA for the products brings me back down to earth. This has helped quite a few times to only buy what I really really wanted.
*tries not to look too guilty*
Not as much as I used to. But stuff like palettes= hard to resist.
Yes very much so, I feel it is my only chance and hardly ever stop to think :” so what if I don´t ever get that shade? what bad would come from it?”
It’s difficult to pass up the urge to buy a limited edition product, especially if it’s a flattering color. That being said, my collection is well-stocked, so I’ve finally reached a point where I only buy things I don’t yet have — regardless if they’re limited edition or not.
Not really. I’ll buy something LE just if I really like it and if it’s indeed something really different than other stuff I own. Also, there are so many shades today of everything so I know I’ll probably find something similar or perhaps even a dupe.
Yep, in 2010 I really did act crazy over some MAC LE like a total idiot but in the past I’d do that but not as badly and desperately! LOL Big mistake!
But even though I’m gonna now sound as if I haven’t leant my lesson yet, I’m still going crazy over the MAC Mickey Contractor collection because I’ve never seen so many wearable yet interesting colors from ANY company ever. This has been the craziest yet but it’s worth it, because I can wear those items whenever as their also timeless and not as rendy as you might think.
I actually feel REpelled by it. I don’t want to fall in love with something that’s just going to leave!
Yes, sometimes…but I have become much more selective. I now have a “make-up budget” and that guides me to pick up only what I really love! I have accumulated quite a bit of LE items to which just sit and collect dust.
As of 2010 I promised myself to make better choices. As a lover of cosmetics, I want to actually use the make up instead of collect it. Now I do! Initially it was hard to pop open those packages and swipe my brushes across them, however, now I enjoy the the thrill of it.
Christine, I really appreciate your reviews and they have become a important part of what I purchase. Even if you give a product a mediocre review it may be something I love. By the way, that rarely happens! Keep up the great work!
Ive never brought any so far…but i feel like it when i hear others saying “this is such a perfect shade but oh its limited edition.”.and i think great i shudve gotten it.:) AS u see im easily swayed by others opinions which is why im glad ure making everything clear for me.
P/S:Christine if u ever get time cud u recommend must have items from each brand…eg if i had money to splurge what shud i gt from guerlain or chanel…like that.
The best thing to do would be to go through my Editor’s Choice Awards 🙂
Yes, but only if it’s a color or formula I don’t have. Same as the reason why I buy regular makeup
I am less likely to buy it. I don’t want to fall in love with something I can never get again so i’d rather get something permanant. Plus when I do get LE I never use it for fear I’ll use it up and won’t have it when I really “need” it. I’m trying to build up my collection and if something’s permanent I know reviews will be more reliable.
Definitely yes! I’m afraid that later on, i will regret not purchasing the item. i usually just buy the LE if i really really want it. I know there are some out there who buy lots of back-ups. that’s insane but i can totally understand 😛
I can easily resisted the “limited edition” tagline by checking for dupes in my stash. If it’s something beautiful and unique, I’ll check it out in store to see if it’s something I can incorporate. I find it’s easier to resist by thinking of all my make up as a “face workforce” and not a “collection”. Then, I can focus on stuff that would benefit me if I were to use it, not just simply “have it.” Also, when a limited edition product gets a crazy following, I just back off. I don’t want to be the cause of any tears for something I probably would never use- Marine Life, I’m lookin’ at ya! For me, nothing is worth waking up at the ass crack of dawn to buy unseen just because people want it- NOT THAT THERE’S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT- ESP FOR COLLECTORS. This mentality has left me with a refined, still impressive stash of make up and products that get used week to week. Nobody gets left behind, so to speak.
Side note- back in the spring, I jumped on a bandwagon and got suckered into Chamomile eyeshadow when I made my order online. It’s a non-pigmented, chalky mess that I never use. I had it tucked in a 4 pan pallette with Mylar. Last night, I dropped the pallette and mylar shattered leaving chamomile in tact. IS THERE NO JUSTICE? That’s “hive mind purchase karma” right there! The lesson- if you missed it- be thoughtful of your purchases and you will have no regrets later.
I tend not to buy limited edition products because I worry that I will fall in love with it and never be able to find it again.
I used to be horrible… but now I can look at your swatches to help me decide. I have a harder time when it’s special packaging from MAC because I feel like I need SOMETHING.
I definitely do, but I think I’m getting better. There have been several Mac collections I’ve skipped.
I try really hard not to get sucked in… but sometimes I just can’t help it. Also, I work at LUSH, so I feel like I’m surrounded by limited-edition stuff, all the time AND I MUST BUY ALL OF IT! It’s worse when it comes to soaps and creams and stuff, because those are things that I run out of (as opposed to eye shadow and lipgloss, which will last me forever), so not only do I feel compelled to buy limited-edition products, but I feel like I should buy multiples of them. Terrible!
Sometimes. It depends. I review everything to make sure it’s worth it, and then consider if I really need it. However, with some things, even when I’m on the fence I feel compelled because I don’t want to regret not buying a LE product (this is happening right now with UD 15th Anniversary 24/7).
When I first got into makeup (mostly MAC) I was like OMG this is limited edition and I’ll never see anything like it again so I HAVE to buy it now! But then after a year of seeing collections come out I noticed similar things come out all the time and that other makeup brands carry things similar to limited edition MAC products. So now I only buy limited edition stuff if I know nothing else like it exists or if it really stands out to me. I think the only MAC collection I bought from in 2010 was the Venomous Villains collection (which I wish I got so much more of).
I’ve had better luck this year with MAC LE lipstick shades for corals that are flattering on my pale skin tone. MAC Ever Hip, Fresh Salmon and Cyndi.
Down side is that they are LE.
This year was all about LE blushes as well… Considering it don’t us them daily since i have rose checks at times I’ve swore to myself to not get tempted by them this year unless MAC brings out some Blush Ombres again.
I usually get a few nice lip gloss per year from MAC and since they came out latter from VV collection I’ll probably skip them this year.
It’s good to take stock of what you have and can use during the year to not get sucked into the madness again. All I’m hoping for is Surf Baby to be interesting collection. O__o
Used to but not any more. Since my collection has reached a critical size, I find that I can find close dupes for most things. Gonna skip Wonder Woman and I never thought I would say that 6 months ago.
Your swatches help a bunch too !!!
Yes but i dont usually give in… i think about it and say i want it go look at it but leave it behind for the most part….
I don’t get stuff just because it’s limited edition. But if there is something I like, I usually don’t hesitate because I am worried I’ll regret not getting it once it’s gone.
Yes! I don’t know why either! I think I am afraid if I don’t get it, I will regret it later and then my chance to get it will be over!lol I am happy I was able to get Stereo rose, Ripe peach blush,Marine life, Siahi fluidline, and most of the Venomous Villians collection the day they were displayed. And honestly, I use all of those products all the time and love them!SO I am glad I got them even if I originally got them so I wouldnt miss out!lol
OMG yes! The peacocky collection is going to let me broke, i bought prance and dalliance firts and i fell in love with the texture and pigmentation, that i have been buying more and more every week, i make past the lip colours but the eyeshadow a least 12 of them are amazing.
i only buy LE if (1) it’s something i’ll actually use and (2) there’s nothing close enough to it in my existing collection.
sooooooo compelled!
I’m not that affected by limited edition items. I buy it if I really like it and if I don’t have something fairly similar to it already. I have a friend that buys up all the limited edition stuff and she has a lot of duplicate colors…waste of money.
I do buy LE more than I buy permanent products, but I still look at swatches and try to make sure everything I buy is something that I’ll actually use and also unique in my collection.
I don’t think I’m too bad! If certain products are LE but I fall in love, then I get back-ups, but if something looks atrocious on me or I just really dislike it, I won’t buy it since I’d rather use that money for something I really want/need. I have a lot of LE things, but because I love them. My only real guilty charge has to be Stereo Rose, I missed it the first time & bought it up without even swatching it again! I’m happy I did though.
I too think finding dupes I have/are easily available makes the ability to resist LE things much easier!
I definitely do! It’s really bad for my wallet.. But recently I’ve been better at resisting! haha
Yes, if the packaging is gorgeous or creative. Also I fear missing out on an item so I’ll buy a LE product if I find myself obsessing over it for a couple days. But a couple days is precious time! Like when the MAC spring ’10 collection came out I had to mull over the Ripe Peach blush. By the time I went back, it had vanished!
No! In fact, if it’s a limited addition, I avoid it. I hate being manipulated that way.
Yes! It’s a really bad habit so I try to not read blogs or anything but it backfires when I finally do start reading again; I have to “catch” up with myself.
It’s a sad, sad life, lol
only when the LE product is totally different from items I already own, then I need to have it!
oh yes! I’m usually drawn to beautiful design of the product itself, not the packaging (with some exceptions like Guerlain fall 2010). I was able to skip all holiday collections of 2010 because none of them was appealing enough to me. But when the spring comes…..
When it comes to MAC, not anymore. I’m mentally tired of the rippin and runnin every now and again. I’m at peace…at the moment. Let’s hope I stay this way for a while.
Yes, actually 🙂 It’s almost pressure. “GAH! It’s limited edition, ITS NEVER GONNA EXIST AGAIN!”
I do if it’s either
* a good value
* special packaging
* compliments my skin tone well
* or if it unique!
I haven’t yet… but I think I’m going nuts over mickey contractor just BECAUSE I’m indian!
I’ll admit that Limited Edition things do stir up the excitement and lust. But i think a BIG part of it is that i hope/think that the LE product is better than the permanent (in terms of colour/price?) Looking back at some of the MAC holiday collection stuff i bought years back, i think i regret. While the packaging may have been attractive, i actually find the quality worse than the usual stuff.
Ive learnt to read reviews from here and on Makeup Alley! I am currently considering the UD 15th Anniversary Eyeliners. But i heard there’s a very bad smell coming from the packaging (a good number of reviewers on mua said that the smell is so bad they think its bad for the lungs)
Oh well…
I own the UD set and its one of my best purchases to date. The liners have nothing to do with the plastic smell. In fact the smell isn’t as bad as people describe it. Bottom line, 15 pencils for an excellent price is hard to beat..either air out the package or toss it.
I’m with you but sometimes it’s hard to find a dupe… and you need to buy something XD
I don’t feel compelled because something is an LE. I feel RUSHED to buy it because it’s an LE, so if I don’t get it, it might sell out.
Yes, i am so guilty of buying limited editions and of course the salespeople tell you if you like it you better pick up a couple and i fall for it lol
Oh God yes! I’m constantly buying LE products, but not just any LE product to be fair. I have to like it to buy it, but if I like it, I have to have it because I can’t just get it 2-3 weeks/months later.
If it’s a limited edition I’ll always go for it 🙂
YES. its horrible. ANd the thing is.. the things that I have let slide, are the things that after a while I feel like I NEED so I end up paying MORE for it cause its already sold out by the time I want it! Like Mac Bad Fairy Nail Polish :(.. But Ive yet to get my hands on that one still. Its so expensive on ebay..
Only during the holidays because there’s usually better deals. As for seasonals, not since I’ve discovered the internet. it’s fun to discover something new =)
If I want it, and it’s LE, I just feel compelled to buy it sooner rather than later.
Limited Edition or not, I only buy something if I know I’ll wear it. I will, however, purchase backups if I fall in love with something. The need to buy backups is my downfall.
yes, I fall in love. It`s an adicction
Yes, all the time! I try to resist but it’s very hard. If the product itself isn’t spectacular though I can say no.
Only if I like the packaging or color. I am happy to say there are some collections I’ve totally ignored. I am getting really annoyed with MAC on how little inventory is available for some LE lately. For something to be sold out online just 2 hours after it debuts is just not acceptable in my book. Duh, if you have more product to sell, you’ll make more money also instead of just pissing people off.
YES. Bane of my wallet.
Unfortunately yes if its my favorite color.
yes! i think i might miss out but if i do love it, then i’m lost without it whenever it gets discontinued.. i really wanted to try the l’oreal HIP jelly balms, but now i can’t.
Hi! I gotta confess I do… I’ve gotten crazy over MAC’s pink friday, even though I’ve already got saint germain and viva glam gaga!
Not really…
I only own like two products that are LE (viva glam gaga lipstick and superglass) … I’d rather try products that I’d be able to purchase over and over again.
more so with MAC than any other brand, due to the fact they seem to sell out so quickly. I feel like if I have to get it even if I’m not totally sure about it, because if I take the time to decide if it’s something I really want I’ll have missed out.
LOL, I wonder if the other 2000 people who also ran to buy it wanted it, or just were afraid it would be sold out before they could be brainwashed. Just kidding. Mostly. I don’t hate the company or products, I just dislike the way they seem to drown out other brands. I associate hard sell with used car guy trying to sell something that’s really junk & hate feeling pressured into anything. Personal feeling.
I mostly feel compelled when I know I’ll want it. It’s unique. AND it won’t be avail later. (ie holiday deals, annual palettes, special offers, & truly genius or irresistable Ltd ed, mostly due to a special event or something)
more than a small number of ltd ed though and my eyes glaze over & I get that feel like I’ll never like anything enough because if I wait a week they’re only going to have something equal or better. or if it’s truly good it’ll go permanent.
but if it’s something I think is specific for me esp if others wouldn’t wear it so it’s distinctive there’s more appeal.
so I do like some ltd ed stuff if I think it won’t be popular but when it gets too popular/freq I’m actually less interested. I think it has to do with my perception of the product and the co motives behind the technique.
I used to, but now I realize I can go through my makeup collection and find something I haven’t used in a while and that’s new to me instead of spending $$ on something new and ‘limited.’
me too! or I try guilt: I find a ltd ed product I had to have but hated.
but I lemminged completely after Christine (bravely!) did the lipswatches on the peacocky. I had to buy it. Hopefully if I apply over buxom marrakesh or dw concealer it will allow me to get full opaque. but I’m a blue addict & anything I wear in blue makes them stand out but blue eyeshadow isn’t easy lol. I knew I’d never see it again (or not for a long time) so I leaped immediately. she talked me out of chilled on ice but I’m still not sure if I should have grabbed it.
so I do like Christine’s stuff on MAC & I’m def open to buying it if I think it’s a solid offering worth the price (in that case the price was totally justified by the uniqueness). just not buying everything.
SO grateful for Temptalia because it’s so rare to find an objective blog with regular updates, excellent lighting & most of the time actual looks because that’s the best way to see things. Plus she takes the time to road test so often. I feel 100% more comfortable on purchase decisions after I’ve read her reviews (sometimes even if she gave a low rating because her criteria are clearly labeled & sometimes my needs are different but I can see I’d use something because she was so specific about pros and cons).
Thank you, Temptalia.
Thank you so much! 🙂 I’m really glad I’ve been able to help you!!
I used to be so swayed by the hype that not only was I buying one of the LE product but I was backing it up as well! I have only gone through a couple(creamsheens and tendertones,I still have two of those TT left!), of these backups in all the years I have been doing this practice. The rest I have given to my BF, my sister and Mom because I am afraid they will go bad and I really want someone to enjoy them.
Now I really don’t get swayed anymore because I have so much left to go through. I really try to think how I am going to incorporate the new product into MY already exsisting collection, not how it exsists in the new store collection where it looks like it makes so much sense.
Why get seduced by one eyeshadow when you ultimately need to buy two more to make it work? Or fall in love with a lipstick that needs the gloss over it to achieve the desired affect.
There are some collections that I think are brilliant! Collections that I love and I am more than happy to fork some money over for and Temptalia has helped me navigate through those! As for the other LE or seasonal collections, some other person will come and fall in love with the whole bundle just like I did years ago and keep the viscious cycle rolling.
Sometimes they are totally worth it! Those are the ones where I want to run out and tell everyone to grab before it’s gone! I happen to love a particular palette so much I’m already thinking about the follow-up before I get this year’s.
But I also know how much makeup I’ve thrown away over a few decades because it was old, expired, colors separating, etc.. So before I buy I think– how much [primer/green liner/purple shadow/mascara] can I use before a) expiration (fresh products simply work better) or b) something better comes out. Stocking up is not good if they come up with a new must have that replaces it & they usually do! I had to stop buying super glittery lipglosses & highlighters because my life doesn’t give me the chance to make use of 40 red carpet glam glosses LOL
I can always toss money away at the next thing they come out with. So I stalk Temptalia looking for the real must-haves. 🙂
YES DEFFINATLY id say 90% fo my MAC is LE 😛 xxx
Hmmmmm I used to be but that didnt last more than a few months ever since I saw that MAC usually comes out with the same product a few years or a few collections later. I also think I can buy other products that will satisfy me other than the limited editions ones, that and this site really helps me in finding dupes for them 😀
I have been a total sucker for LE stuffs but I have been changing my habits. For example, while I adored some of the megametal eyeshadows from MAC’s Peacocky collection I didn’t buy any because I have WAY to much e/s and I would never in a million years hit pan on one of those things. I make sure to read reviews online and swatch in-person and I do NOT buy back-ups. I do not care about packaging, LE packaging does zero for me. It’s all about usability and how unique something is these days. Which makes my pocket book happier.
Oh, yes – it’s very hard for me to resist if I love the color AND the packaging, like with MAC’s To the Beach and Liberty of London collections – wow! However, I always try to wait to read your reviews (or rather STUDY them…ha ha!) before hitting the counter. The only really bad choice I have made so far was because I did not have time to check your posts first and when I arrived to the MAC Counter the Tartan Tale collection had just come out and well, I sort of panicked!
I am being more careful today about checking my stash before – great advice, Christine! I also try to go through my collection once in a while to see what I have barely touched, to realize what I honestly do not wear and avoid choosing similar products in the future, particularly LE ones.
No, not anymore. Having a warmer and darker skin tone helps a lot because at least 1/2 of the collection will not complement my skin, hence there is less to choose from. I try and read up on the collections before going to counter and I buy the colours that I don’t have, plus I stick to a budget. By the way, thanks Christine for all the work you do. It save us ladies, time and money.
I decided to spend less on make up and more on skincare and improving my health. Spend more on skincare and on my health will improve my overall look, I think.
For me, knowing it’s limited edition actually helps me to refrain from buying a product. I don’t want to buy something, love it, and then not be able to get it again. It would drive me crazy lol
So the only time I ever actually buy limited edition products is when I swatch it and fall absolutely in love with it. But if there’s any hesitance, I take it as a sign that I don’t really need it.
YES!! I am so guilty of this.
I did. But now I am starting to realized that it is what is inside the package not the decor on it. I have the Hello Kitty palette _ and never used it cuz I forgot I had it. So I depotted it and now use it because they are with the others. I think that I will no be buying into the hype anymore and just get what I think I will need for my kit.
All the time!!
Honestly, I went a lil’ crazy from ’08-’09. In 2010, I decided to go on a “no buy” for the entire year. One because I had built my makeup collection from nothing to owning 5 MAC palettes. It was beneficial. I saved a ton of money. And I started reading Temptalia even more and realizing that many of those colors are dupable. I stopped buying colors that were only a smidge different. Eyeshadows and pigments last forever so in 2011 and onward, I’ll only be buying things that are unique and there’s nothing similar in my collection. Thanks Christine for helping to save me money!
No way! I’ll only buy something if I really love it or if I’m really excited to try it out.
