Dolce & Gabbana Lilac Crayon Intense Eyeliner Review, Photos, Swatches
Dolce & Gabbana Eyeliner: White & Lilac
Dolce & Gabbana Secret Garden: Lilac Eyeliner
Dolce & Gabbana Lilac Crayon Intense Eyeliner ($29.00 for 0.054 oz.) will see the introduction of two new shades, White and Lilac from Dolce & Gabbana’s Secret Garden Collection, which should hit Saks counters and online soon.
- Lilac is a vibrant blue-violet with a fuchsia-violet undertone. Unfortunately, it is a pain to work with–there is no creaminess, so the color drags and skips when applied. I really wanted to wear it, but I could barely get it to show up, even after working the tip down a bit.
Dolce & Gabbana’s Eyeliners are hit or miss for me; they’re often too hard, so they lack enough creaminess to enable the eyeliner to apply smoothly and evenly. They don’t glide-on, and instead, they can tug on the lash line or skip when applied, which results in an uneven, splotchy look. Lilac just did not work for me at all; what I managed to apply wore okay for about four or five hours, but it was so faint and sheer.

FINAL THOUGHTS: It’s such a shame that it doesn’t apply evenly nor have enough creaminess to glide on and deposit pigment intensely. It’s a beautiful color but not worth picking up based on a rougher texture, below average wear, and sheer color.

well, to be honest i like hard pencils… i feel like they are easier to work with… i have the D&G pencil called stromboli, and i love it…
The tugging and patchy results just make these impossible for me to work with, unfortunately!
but but but….it’s so pretty!
How disappointing…you would think for $29.00 it would practically apply itself!!
What a pity about Lilac, it really is a pretty color!
Go old school and try burning the tip with a lighter! lol
darn, i was really looking forward to trying out that color! I love the color and its so pretty, such a shame it doesnt apply like a dream! I guess i may just pass
Ugh the lilac color is gorgeous =( Too bad the quality isn’t there.
Creamy pencils are not always my favs also. I just got 6 shades of the so coveted UD 24/7 pencils and while they really glide on like a dream and have a good staying power, I must say I was so disappointed by the pigmentation. The colors are soo light and sheer, even Covet, which looks like one of the darkest. I am a hard liker when it comes to pencils and eyeliners, always in search for the perfect one. After soo many trials with so many high-end brands, I came to realize there is no “perfect” eyeliner that suits everything and everyone. It is a matter of experience and preference. For example NARS kaliste stays on really well on me at times, while sometimes it smudges really bad…I recently came across By Terry eye pencils and I must say I am impressed by both the unique colour(s) and staying power, which I found better than BB gel liners. These pencils are also on the hard side but I can manage to work with them and create the color I want, although I have to pass 4-5 times over and over, not because of poor pigmentation, I like to have the most of the intensity of a color when I apply it. Wow, this took longer than I thought 🙂 Thanks for reading 🙂 LOL
Too bad they are so hard because I love the color of the Lilac one. I hate a pencil that’s too hard because it hurts to put on, that’s a deal breaker for me.
Would you mind please trying it over a primer or base like MAC paint pot? Maybe that would do the trick. Gosh I really hope it does, this color is STUNNING!!
Doesn’t work either way!
Oh, for shame! Such a gorgeous colour, too!
It kind of makes me mad that they’re selling an eyeliner for THAT MUCH MONEY when it sucks!
