Cle de Peau 101 Grounded Eye Color Duo Review, Photos, Swatches
101 Grounded
Cle de Peau 101 Grounded Eye Color Duo ($55.00 for 0.15 oz.) contains a medium-dark brown and golden peach. The formula is supposed to have a “silky” feel, be moisturizing on the lids (though it is a powder formula), long-wearing, and have true-to-pan color. I like the effect of Cle de Peau’s eyeshadows on the lid; I think that “moisturizing” aspect of them makes them sit well on the lid as time passes, where they meld well to bare skin. I find that they can be semi-opaque to opaque, more buildable and very easy to wear as a wash of color, if desired. The eyeshadows are rose-scented, though I only just noticed the scent with the compact open but not applied.
As a FYI, Cle de Peau sells the duos as a pan-only, which is not magentized but you could stick a magnet to it so it would adhere to most freestyle palettes, or purchase their case for $25.

Grounded (Left)
Grounded (Left) is a medium-dark brown with warm, reddish undertones and a satin finish. It had opaque color coverage with a soft, slightly dusty texture that had a tendency sheer out a little more readily than ideal but can be built back up for opaque coverage. It was easy to blend and diffuse along the skin. On me, it wore well for seven and a half hours before fading.

PiPPermanent in Palette.
Grounded (Right)
Grounded (Right) is a soft, golden peach with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. The pigmentation was rich and opaque, while the texture was soft, smooth, and blendable without being dusty or powdery. It applied evenly to bare skin and didn’t sheer until unless that was my goal, so it was versatile: I could wear it as an all-over lid color or just as a sheer wash. The color stayed on well for seven and a half hours on me.

Pretty, seems like heaven for blue eyes.
It should be!
I’ve had eye on a CdP peach eyeshadow for some time now, so may check this out as well whenever I can get to their counter. It’ll will have to be amazing for this price, but then perhaps it will be; I know many posters here are fans.
I love the formula of Cle de Peau’s eyeshadows, but you definitely have to find the combo that speaks to you at this price point!
Pretty colors and finish but out of my price range.
They are a luxury for sure!
I shockingly ADORE this!! I could see this being beautiful as the look you did, and a few other ways too!! I could see this being great for a streamlined makeup bag!!!
Aww, thanks, Shannon!
Love the colors and finish, the price not so much.
Hard to love the price, lol!
Stunning duo! I think the price is a little high for what it is but they pipcked really good colours to be in this duo!
The colors worked well together!
Very pretty, but I think these shades are fairly common in lots of our bigger palettes. Gorgeous eye look Christine.
Very true!
These have that lovely “melted” onto the lid look that I love in Chanel Empriente du Desert, but significantly more pricey than Chanel or Tom Ford for the amount sold or variety of shades. So, I will instead look for dupes. Which I don’t believe will be difficult!
Yep, that’s exactly the look they yield, Nancy! Pricey of course, though!
Both colors are lovely. I also quite like rose scents, so that’s a plus!
Phew 😉
I wants me the preshusss!
Still I want to see the other Spring shadows from CdP before purchasing though.
There are swatches in the Swatch Gallery if you haven’t seen those yet! Reviews still to come, hopefully!
Beautiful chic eye look, but I’ m sure I have more than one similar eyeshadows like these.
