Quick Review: Maybelline Sinful Sinnamon Baked Eyeshadow
Maybelline Sinful Sinnamon Baked Eyeshadow Duo ($7.29 for 0.09 oz.) is a baked eyeshadow (similar to MAC’s Mineralize Eyeshadows), and one side is solid while the other is marbled. When swatched, the product works amazing whether wet or dry–the solid side is a rusted orange-red with a frosty finish, while the marbled side is a pinky beige with a white frost finish.
It has a smooth texture, high frost finish, and both shades were incredibly pigmented. In the past, I’ve found that baked eyeshadows often must be used wet in order to achieve good color pay off, but these worked well dry, too. I did have the ever slightly noticeable fading after eight hours of wear with Maybelline’s Baked Eyeshadow Duos, but it was very slight.
Welcome to Swatch-all-idays! To start 2011 off on the right foot (or post, as it may be!), Temptalia is going through a backlog of products we have photographed, swatched, and often tested but in a slightly different manner. Quick reviews may be partially incomplete, such as a blush may only be swatched on the arm rather than shown on the face. It is our hope that what we are able to provide is still helpful!

RECOMMENDATION: Maybelline has several other variations on their duos, and based on this one, these might be a great alternative to higher-end baked eyeshadows like MAC’s Mineralize Eyeshadows–perhaps not necessarily exact dupes in terms of colors but the product type is quite similar.

Wow i’m loving this color! Great for xmas 🙂 and for the price i think this are great e/s cause they’re pigmented
Christine, is the solid side similar in color to cranberry from Mac? thanks for the swatch, always helpful.:)
I am not sure!
I love this duo! Mine has a little more fallout with that lighter side.
This is actually pretty similar to M.A.C. “Mineralize” Eye Shadow Duo in Play on Plums
The pigmentation is great, but not loving the colors or combination at all.
I always see these baked shadows at Walmart and have been curious thanks for the review and Swatches
Me2>:)
Ooo, I like! Something like this could definately help with my New Years rresolution of bringing my makeup spending down : -D
I have this duo and I really like it.
I always want to buy colors like this, but then never use them. I need to kick my comfort zone of blue and brown!
i love these duos! i have the green/gold one and the colors are great!
I like the pigmentation. Does it crease, Christine?
Not over a base.
I followed this post from Facebook! 🙂 I liked commenting there because I can leave immediate responses. This looks so pretty and pigmented and I really want it… I wonder when my no-buy is going to end??
I have been looking at this and wasn’t sure if I should pick it up or not. I think I will now. Thanks Christine for another great review. As always, you rock!
I WOULD DEFINITELY WEAR THIS AS A BLUSH 🙂 so sparky <33
in the pan, reminds me of ”last call” from UD. but when swatch, i can see the difference. nice post, will be looking forward to more <3
I love your drugstore product reviews 🙂
BEAUTIFUL!! I must have this.
that darker shade looks gorgeous!
These baked eye shadow duos from Maybelline are simply terrific! As Christine says, they are very highly pigmented. Great buy! Incidentally, Maybelline recently came out with, I think, 3 new shades…purple, silver, and green.
The lighter shade always seems to just leave fine glitter all over the place without much color…maybe I’m not using enough? Or maybe I just need to try it over a base/primer.
