Cle de Peau #2 Gloss – $50! I’ve had bigger “hauls,” but to me, that was my big splurge. It wasn’t for the blog/to review, it was something just for me. Still love it, though!

Does anyone remember the prescriptives counter? I dropped over a hundred dollars there getting a foundation [liquid and powder] It honestly was one of the better purchases I have made because it was created just for my skin :]

Going for some lash extentions. That’s expensive! I only managed to keep that up for two fills afterwards though before I started feeling really guilty about spending money on such a trivial and vain thing.
And to be honest, they freaked me out after a while!
Anything false you attach to your body is not my thing though. Hair, nails, lashes. 🙂

For a single item – Chanel Ming Rouge Allure Laque – I’ve never spent over $30 on a lip product before!

Haul – MAC’s Venomous Villains collection…I think in total I spent about $300

Honestly my biggest makeup splurge would have to be the philosophy the present clear makeup primer. it was $33. To me that is a huge splurge, since i usually go for drugstore makeup (: but it’s well loved!

Sydney Avatar

Probably my hair extensions. The ones I have now were about $100 but they are a must for me. My hair won’t grow past a certain length and it’s very fine, so without my extensions I feel naked.

you should try Organix Coconut Milk. Its $6 a bottle and works amazing! just put a small amount on ur ends after u shower then dry ur hair! you can get it at walmart. I’ve never had anything help grow my hair. Everyone always says how fast my hair grows now!

On a single item? $55 CAD for NARS Sheer Glow foundation

Overall Total? The biggest hauls has been close to $200 but only because I was using my Aunt’s MAC PRO card!

Serge Lutens’ primer. I am so embarrassed that I bought into the hype and got it, because it doesn’t smooth a pore on my face. I got it as a b-day gift to myself, but will probably end up swapping or selling it.

It’s made by Shiseido, BTW, and I can’t figure out what is in it that would constitute such a high price tag. It’s no better than anything else from Shiseido’s regular line!

Urban Decay’s UD <3 NYC Palette. Almost $10 more than BoS 1 or 2 and I'm pretty sure it was just because of the little lights. Still, as thick & silly as the packaging is, the shadows are awesome.

i live in switzerland, and make-up in our country is very expensive!! exaple: (MAC products) lipgloss 25 USD, eyeshadow 25 USD, lipsick 29 USD etc..
i wanted benefit’s hoola bronzer for a very long time, so i purchased it on ebay, and all in all with the shipping etc.. it was about 80 USD!!

I just spent $160 for Rodial Glamoxy Snake Serum and even though I’ve got sticker shock, i can’t believe the instant amazing results. Erases all puffs, lines and darkness from around my eyes in minutes after applying. Serious miracle product.

When it comes to makeup, though, I won’t pay anything higher than average MAC prices – you couldn’t drag me to pay $30 for a lipstick ever, hehe.

Guerlain Place Vendome 6 ecrin eyeshadow palette 2010 fall collection. it’s $84. I bought it as soon as it become available online at Neiman Marcus. no discount no personal swatches. I just looked at the pictures on beauty blogs.

Chanel Lipsticks – I don’t buy them often (now usually only with gift card) but this was the first brand of lipsticks I ever wore and 20+ years later it is still my favorite brand of lipsticks.

My biggest splurge would probably $42 on Laura Mercier’s Oil Fre Tinted Moisturizer, but soon I am planning on buying the UD 15th Anniversary 24/7 set (so worth it though!).

Mine isn’t unusual — I’m a regular purchaser of YSL Touche Eclat, both for myself and my mother. $40 for a little tube of liquid magic feels like kind of a lot, but there are no substitutes. 🙂

Emjoi Light Caress Epilator Rechargeable & Cordless. It came to $120 with shipping then there was duty charges.

Unfortunately it didn’t work with my blonde hair. On the low speed it tugged but didn’t pull out the hair, on high it broke the hair off but didn’t pull out. 🙁 I was really hoping it would work since I sugar as a much as I can but the summer I find my self having to shave.

Well, apparently mine was today when I had the crazy idea to buy something from the Italian MAC store where I live. €35 for a 190 brush, which is about $53!!!!! At least it’s worth it, but still…

There are many times I’ve spent a massive wad of cash (disney venomous collection :s I think I made 3 purchases total)
but I think the biggest splurge on 1 product was my Nars Hungryheart duo. $50 cdn for 2 shades. Redonkulous. My UD bos sets did cost more but I’m talking $ for product amount, yup nars was damn pricey

As far as the most I paid for 1 beauty/make-up item, it has to be a few things:
– The Clarisonic ($200)
– lipstick-wise: Guerlain Rouge G (I have 3) @ $60/each
– Laura Mercier Bath & Body line/products (are to die for!) ($70 just for a jar of bubble bath)
– My HG foundation: Guerlain Gold Parure ($85) (Thanks to you Christine!!…)
I used to have nail art done every 3 weeks for 3 years and false lashes every month for 1 year…. Those I stopped doing and I don’t miss.
– NARS Bento Box
– On E-Bay: Guerlain Black Kajal (that was sold out everywhere: I paid $150 for it)
And probably a lot more than I want to think about! I guess I’m really high maintenance and Diva-ish…lol
On MAC hauls/collections, I usually average $300-$600 per haul (ouch!)

my biggest splurge on a single item this year was the Clarisonic Mia – and the closest second was my UD AIW Palette/Naked Palettes. I’ve had quite a few $70-150 UD hauls of multiple products. (but for the most part, my boyfriend has helped feed the UD addiction by subscribing to their email updates, and surprising me with new UD products, including BOS III =)

Though I’ve spent more at once or even on one item, I have to say when I bought my UD Naked Palette–because I had been searching for one to give to my mother for her birthday for a couple months leading up to it. Finally found it in stock at Ulta, and debated for a couple of seconds before grabbing the second.

I debated a week before I actually opened the second one to use myself (I’m not a huge neutral wearer), but I really like it. Since it’s UD, it has enough sparkle/shimmer to where I still enjoy using it. XD

My biggest splurge this year were MAC brushes. They are ridiculously expensive here in good old Europe, €26 is the cheapest I think and €42 is the cost of a regular face brush. I bought 2 face brushes this year and 3 other brushes.

Carrie Avatar

My biggest splurge would be Clarisonic plus, the Nars Bento Box, Creme de La Mer,Fresh Creme Ancienne and one pair of Shu Uemura False Eyelashes (the Dream Coaster, so gorgeous!!)

Alexis Avatar

My biggest haul was at IMATS earlier this year, I spent 100 dollars in less than 5 minutes at the OCC counter. I am very frugal with my money and that was just crazy for me. I don’t regret it one bit though. The whole day was a splurge for me $200 in one day on makeup, was a large splurge for me. I can’t wait till next year! haha

Mar Avatar

I made a lot of splurges this year… LOL
But some specific ones were:
90 euros on the Venomous Villains collection
(I haven’t used the most of it… The Shame!)
70 euros on two Chanel Rouge Allure Laques
90 euros on the Estée Lauder Block Buster

Mind you…
This doesn’t include all the stuff I bought ‘in between’ and I forget right now 😉

Nicole Avatar

My biggest skin care splurge was ANR serum by Estee Lauder, my biggest make-up splurge Or the Rose by Terry and my biggest haul ever about 250 $ at MAC Pro Store in NYC.

rae Avatar

i’d say my ReVive moisture renewal night cream. a cool $250 a pop. but i dont regret though! considering it’s lasted me almost a year, so cost per month is worth it.

Tammy Avatar

A Cle de Peau foundation, refining fluid foundation, totally worth the price, only took a little product as it is very pigmented and lasted me forever.
