Well admittedly I only own 2 brown lipsticks but I really like both of them, Pretty Zombie Cosmetics Broomstick and Nyx Enamored vamp lip cream.
MAC – Deep Love, Film Noir, Eclipse (LE). Reeeally wish they’d bring back Underworld!
Urban Decay – Rat & Roach (not the vintage re-release but the 90s originals were the best ever). Conspiracy was too glittery on me. 🙁

oooh Smashbox in Cognac is my ho to brown and although this isn’t a lipstick, ABH lip gloss in Tara is a winner! and Maybelline “Crazy for Coffee”

You are making me think all time, again! That would have to be Poppy King (lipstick queen) Fortune, from the virtues that came after the original 7 deadly sins. As dark as they got, ~20 years ago. Everyone wanted one, and they got d/c’d. Like Bite and Nars redder browns and darker browns, these days, not the yellow toned ones out this spring. Deborah, Whiskey, Nori, etc. might have to check C108, as I still haven’t tried the newer MUFEs. ‘Course will note others’ recs closely! Thanks, guys.
My very favorite is a strange shade — Kat von D’s “Piaf” Studded Kiss Lipstick. It’s a chocolatey brown, but it has violet microglitter too, so it has a truly unique look — especially for a brown lippie!
Lorac Exhibitionist is about as brown as I go! Kind of a light to medium nude brown.
MAC Royally Riotous, Amor Prohibido and I Get So OCC, UD Conspiracy, Colourpop Ultra Satin TooLips. If UD Liar was considered a brown, I’d add it, although on me it is the perfect nude.
Nancy, how could I have forgotten too lips! It’s such a dramatic, plummy brown on my NC20/NC25 skinskintone!
Estée Lauder Discreet is a good one!
Some of my favorites are: Wet n Wild x Fergie Bebot Love (discontinued), Urban Decay 1993 (near-perfect dupe for Bebot Love) and Roach, ColourPop Lippie Stick in Grunge, MAC Shitaki and Viva Glam Rihanna 2, Nyx Liquid Suede in Vintage, and Kat von D Studded Kiss in Piaf.

The best brown lipstick I have ever tried has to be the Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick in Cool Girl! It is truly a Matte nude that is cooler toned and absolutely stunning!?

My current favorite brown lipsticks are little known brands–that I think deserve a lot more attention. I love Elizabeth Street Cosmetics’ lipstick in a color called Walnut, and Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics’ lipsticks in the colors Vain and Rosewood. They’re all plummy and reddish browns, with smooth, creamy textures (with the exception of Vain, which is a matte). They also have pretty good longevity and a subtle vanilla scent that’s nice, without being overpowering.
I sure like my browns…my lipsticks would all be relatives of each other, if they were people. 🙂

I don’t wear a lot of brown lipstick, so maybe Mac Velvet Teddy since it’s a brown-ish nude
I love brown shades and favorite are Mac Del Rio and urban decay 1993 !!
For my NC35 skintone, my favorites are Bite Beauty Chai, Colourpop Wild Nothing and Taurus.
Unfortunately most brown lipsticks do not look good on me.
Because I like the mac matte formula very much I have to say Mac so select lipstick.
It looks good even on me and the formula is great.
Smashbox cognac was the first one that popped into mind for me!

I don’t really wear brown lipstick but the closest I can come to a brown is Bobbi Brown Downtown Plum.
That is my absolute favorite of all times! On me it is more like a brownish plum then a plummy brown. 🙂

I started buying brown lipsticks again in 2011, so I have too many now. lol I’ve worn Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Rose Brown the most often, but I am still on this never ending search for something that matches Wet n Wild Toasted Coconut lipstick. That was my perfect shade.
MAC Velvet Teddy it’s the most `brown` I can go… I’m not that into browns. The color and the formula (big fan of MAC Mattes) makes it the best in my case.
I was a huge fan of Mac prolongwear kn loyal until it was discontinued. I found that TF Henry is a close dupe colourwise, though not long wearing. It is discontinued too though :/

Maybelline Lasting Chesnut: a orangy brown with also some bright red in it… Love it and it is so long wearing.
My favorites are MAC Taupe and Bobbi Brown Bahama Brown.
Not an actual brown, but MAC Whirl looks pretty brown on my pale skin so I guess it still counts. I also love MAC Stone but I don’t always have the courage to wear it to school.
