Best Satin Lipstick

What's the best Satin Lipstick that you've tried?

I like Urban Decay’s Comfort Mattes (and some Creams are more satin-like), Bite Amuse Bouche Lipsticks, MAC Satins, and ColourPop Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks.

Yes! ColourPop and Bite make some of my absolute favorite lipsticks! Wearing “Nori” by Bite Beauty today…such a gorgeous color and SO comfortable to wear.

The new Lancome satin lipsticks…hands down. I haven’t tried ColourPop, but have and like the others originally mentioned. Lancome’s lipsticks feels so good to apply and feels good on.

I’m so worried about preservatives , like Parabens that are in a lot of cosmetics. Especially lipstick, that we end up consuming internally. They have discovered a lot of breast cancer lumps that contain Parabens.. I like to use Mineral Fusion Lipstick, or Tarte cosmetics, with NO Parabens. They are smooth too,..and all natural.

I think we have plenty of stuff to worry about other than parabens.
Like not buying cosmetics made in China, for one example.
You can’t avoid everything “bad”.
And btw, the Jill Iredale lip products that I bought years back were some of the worst I’ve ever used. At least UD is vegan, too.

Because few companies actually call any of their finishes “satin” (MAC is the only one I can think of), it’s hard to know what counts as “satin”. I love the old formula of Bite’s lipsticks (the ones that were replaced with the new formula – I think they were called “Luminous Cream”) and I really like Clarins’s lipstick formula(s) – they too keep discontinuing the formulas I like but their Jolie Rouge lipstick is very nice and so is the formula Shiseido used in those new reds they launched in the fall (or was it summer?).

Out of ones I actually own, I’d definitely pick Colourpop Ultra Satins, MAC Satins (plus a few more satin-like mattes I have from them) and UD Comfort Mattes.

Out of ones I’ve tried, but do not own yet: Nars Audacious Lipsticks (#1 for me!) and Bite Amuse Bouche. I have no idea whatsoever why I don’t own an Audacious yet!?!? I guess I’ll have to fix that!

I’m not clear about what makes a lipstick formula fall into the “satin” class…today I used Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color. I kind of forgot how much I like the formula, although maybe that’s more of a cream. It was buried in my makeup stash. Too many lipsticks? Never!
ColourPop Ultra Satins are nice, especially for the price, and I’m also a big fan of Bite Amuse Bouche.

I don’t know if the Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Cremes are technically satin, but if so those are #1 for me. If not, I quite like the MAC satins, as well as the NARS lipsticks (the classic ones, not the Audacious ones, though those are great too).

MAC Satins are definitely my favorite. I don’t personally find MAC Mattes drying or uncomfortable, but I can start feeling them on the lips towards the end of the day. MAC Satins offer me full opacity, good staying power and are very comfortable to wear.
