What’s your go-to foundation and/or powder for photos? What seems to photograph the best?

I like Make Up For Ever’s HD Foundation or Guerlain’s Parure Gold set with Laura Mercier’s Loose Translucent Powder.

i like MUFE HD too! i’m not big on powder, but when i do use it i like smashbox’s HD dual finish micro powder with spf 15 — you can do matte, luminous, or in between, and it all comes in a handy brush form!

Luckily, my Holy Grail foundation is perfect for photos, too. I know the MUFE Hd foundation has SPF but I have never had any problems with white cast. It gives me the most natural look, in picture as well as in person

My everyday foundation is Makeup Forever HD with the matching powder but specifically for photos: Mac’s Studio Tech and Makeup Forever’s HD powder to set.

For any photo shoots I’ve ever done, MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid works best, it looks flawlees on. But you have to have good skin to begin with i think.

Chanel Mat Lumiere with MAC’s blot powder seems to work with me I’ve tried other foundations and it leaves me oily. I want to try MUFE HD soon to see what the hype is all about! I’ve heard a lot of good reviews about it!

I’ve never found a liquid foundation that worked well in photos, even if they don’t have SPF! Same with tinted moisturizers, I get white cast in everything. The only thing I have left is Bare Escentuals :<

I second the Graftobian HD creme and powder suggestion. They are both amazing and make my skin look flawless, but without any mask like look. I won’t use anything else now!

I make sure to use a primer first. Right now I’m using L’Oreal’s studio Secrets primer. Then I use Meow’s Pampered Puss foundation in Inquisitive Siamese. I follow that up with an HD powder, Aromaleigh’s Ultra Resolution Finishing powder. The URFP really makes a difference.

MAC F&B photographs beautifully for me; I don’t love it for day-to-day wear though, because it’s not too long lasting. I set it with MAC P+P Transparent Finishing Powder.

My go to foundation in general is MAC Studio Fix Powder because it is quick and has great coverage. I buff it on with the MAC 182 Buffer Brush. But…… I learned from the AMAZING Dustyohunter that it does not look good in photos because of the large amount of titanium dioxide. So, for specifically photos, I use Makeup Forever HD Foundation. I am not the biggest fan of it, because everyone told me that it gives really full coverage, but I think it is only a medium-plus coverage, but it looks BEAUTIFUL in photos. So, for that reason, that is my go to foundation for photos. 🙂

MAC Studio Fix Fluid
On my face, it looks kind of unnatural but it work wonders in photos!
It’s not too matte and my skin appears flawless 🙂

Hi Can anyone suggest what shade of Mac studio fix powder will be best for me? i generally go for a medium/dark shade (think Benefit hoola) but wanted to try this foundation as i have heard good things about it, i have looked at the Mac site and its really difficult to tell by the colours/shades, i suppose it would be best to go into Fenwicks which is my nearest Mac shop, if anyone can suggest a close match to Benefit Hoola i would appreciate it, i have looked on here but cant find a match. thanks Mary
