NYX I Dream of St. Thomas Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
NYX I Dream of St. Thomas Eyeshadow Palette
Color That Doesn’t Break the Bank
NYX I Dream of St. Thomas Eyeshadow Palette ($8.75 for 0.28 oz.) contains five eyeshadows and is part of NYX’s Caribbean Collection of eyeshadow palettes. (I reviewed St. Lucia previously.) NYX is one of my favorite brands for more affordable makeup, because the quality is consistently high and the range is huge.
St. Thomas includes: a dark charcoal gray with soft silver shimmer (similar to MAC’s Knight Divine); brightened cotton candy pink with a satin sheen; bright silver with a near metallic shimmer-sheen (similar to MAC’s Electra); pale golden peach with a high sheen; and a medium-dark, mint green with a pearly shine.
The pigmentation was excellent on the pink, peach, and green shades; it was still quite good on the charcoal and silver shades, too, but a touch sheerer than the other three. My favorite shade is the minty green, because you don’t see that kind of color–or with such vibrancy–by every brand. These shades have a soft, smooth texture, though there is some residual powder kick up during use. NYX eyeshadows have worked well for me and only fade minimally, but not noticeably so until six or more hours of wear.

Amazing pigmentation for that price!
amazing pigmentation, but not too keen on the colors themselves. it looks like something from a kid’s make up toy set D:
I was wondering about these. You’re right about the mint green!
Pretty! That green reminds me a little bit of a lighter version of UD Graffiti.
Wow, those colors are gorgeous!
I am a colorful palette hater, but I sort of love this! I also love St. Thomas, soooo ….
NYX is almost as expensive as MAC here in Denmark so I never purchased anything from NYX!;)
you can get on online shops for a decent price. NYX isn’t even alavaible in my country (Italy) ^^
What online shop do you shop NYX from . In Denmark it’s only available at nelly.com but very pricy :-/ . You bring from Italy reminds me of Italian Kiko Cosmetics, good products for a cheap price, wish they were available worldwide 😉
*you being from Italy, not bring lol
I live in norway and i shop NYX from cherryculture.com. They have lots of nyx products and sales with 20-25% discount regularly.
Their shipping fees are ok as well.
Maintaining NYX’s reputation as the number 1 brand of drag queens!
=P
I’m sorry! I find what you said offensive. I’m sure you didn’t mean any harm, but please be careful. Make-up, or anything, shouldn’t be used as a way to generalize.
She said that because it’s the makeup brand that is sponsored by the RuPaul’s Drag Race show on LoGo.
the green reminds me of the Seafom Green mono, that is actually my favourite shade of green ever…
i love that gold! could be used as a great highlight!
I love NYX. Their Ultra Pearl Mania pigments are lovely and don’t have to sacrifice quality for the price.
What size are the eyeshadows? I’d probably depot them.
I believe they are MAC sized or a touch bigger.
I like the charcoal grey and the green. I was sort of hoping the peach shade would be more of a rich gold.
I like these but, the colors don’t really go together at all. You can’t make many looks using these colors together (other than the silver and gray/black color).
I have the I Dream of Barbados palette and the pigmentation is really bad. I never use it =(
I personally LOVE NYX, the gold and silver are to die for.
sorry, a little off topic, but would please recommend a dark red lip gloss (for the holidays)? thank you 🙂
Brand, price range?
Hrm, the pigmentation is beautiful, but I don’t feel the palette is cohesive, you know? Maybe the grey, silver, and goldish colour would be a good trio, or even with just one of the bolder colours, but I think that having them all together is a little overkill.
Just my opinion though.
I agree! Even the silvers and the pink would be nice.
I think it’s the fact that the green and pink really seem to be competing.
‘Made in PROC.’
I find this little detail amusing. Sneaky abbreviations!
You’re right. That is funny since the Peoples Republic of China is usually abbreviated PRC. I would still buy it, but people do deserve to know where things are made.
I really love the pigmentation on this palette though the colors aren’t really my cup. 🙂
The pink, peach and green are my kind of colors. The 2 grey shades would be for my smokey eye look. 🙂
Nyx’s palettes are fantastic. I have the I Dream of St Lucia one, which has a stellar green and pink too. But you’re right, there’s noticeable fallout. I used the green and yellow for witch-makeup today and has to wipe my cheeks off with wet tissue.
The colours are really beautiful, although I don’t know if I’d wear them (if I did it would probably be very sheer).
Prudy colours…
the green its so nice, i loved that color. Nyx eyeshadows are great, very good pigmentation
This seems like an amazing palette, but the ingredient list turns me off. Mineral oil & parabens?! I’m so torn!
