i love mufe hd
Ditto. It’s so fine and goes on so smoothly.
agreed!
MUFE HD is definitely the best, I agree.
I alternate between Mufe HD & La Mer Loose Powder for that silky smooth feeling;
Me2! Best setting powder I’ve tried so far!
I really like MAC, Prep and Prime setting powder. It’s translucent so it’s good for any skin tone and leaves a perfect finish to any face. And I loved their Loose Blot powder, which is only available from their pro store now, but that was a perfect finishing powder for those of us with combination skin; just enough (light) coverage and kept everything matte but not in heavy way.
Yes! It is the best! When I don’t feel like wearing a lot of foundation, I just use this with my concealor and it takes away the shine! It feels so smooth too and it lasts for a long time – a little fores a long way!
Agreed. I look flawless after MAC translusent setting powder
Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. I’ve gone through so many jars. It adds a diffuse glow and keeps me matte for longer than any other product and doesn’t interfere with the colour of the foundation.
Love it!
I’ve heard so many good things about this powder. I just ordered her invisible powder last night. Can’t wait to try it out.
Me too!
Another vote for the LM Translucent Setting Powder, beautiful finish!
Coty Airspun
I love that you love this. My grandmother wore Coty powder and it was my first powder. Even though I cannot wear it now, color and skin issues, it still makes me happy to see the little box at the store. I still have her original fabric box that she kept and refilled. She told me they no longer made the fabric box and she missed it.
The smell more than anything brings back memories…
Where do you buy that? Ive heard about it.
They sell it at some drug stores!
Walmart also sells it.
Glad to see I’m not alone in loving Airspun!
Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre! Give me the perfect glow-from-within look!
Agreed, i love this stuff 🙂
I have it too! it’s still in its box, though. I’m planning to try it during the holidays!
Lancome Mineral Finishing Powder – gives me a total air brush look and lasts most of the day. It’s expensive, but so worth it.
Same here! 🙂
I love Laura Mercier Setting Powder – it’s so light and goes on so smoothly, leaving a smooth, semi-glowy finish. A little goes a long way – I’ve had mine for over a year now and it’s still pretty full!
amen to that!
Ben Nye Banana Powder
MUFE HD Powder, it’s 100% pure silica but they manage to mill it just right and can be used on anyone.
Silk Naturals perfecting powder! it’s much better than MUFE HD. it has some silica powder in it too, but also has silk powder. it doesn’t make skin look dry like the MUFE. it makes skin look super smooth, and it lasts a long time. it’s also very affordable – $8 I think !
I’ll check out Silk Naturals once once I go through the MUFE HD I got at 40% off … the SN one is still cheaper. ^_^ I had tried pure Coastal Scents silica powder but it doesn’t look the same as the HD powder …
I want to try the Purely Cosmetics Diamond Perfect Finish eventually.
I love love love Physician’s Formula Pearls of Perfection in translucent. Only downside is it’s hard to find in stores, but they have it online. Mine has lasted me forever, it’s relatively inexpensive, and it never looks makeup-y on me. It has a little bit of iridescence that you can see on the product, but it never looks glittery or shimmery on my skin, just slightly airbrushed. I’ve tried a few higher end powders since I first stumbled upon this, thinking that I’d get something even better if I paid more, but I haven’t found it yet. However, application can be annoying because the little pearls sometimes get stuck in my brush, so I have to be careful swirling my brush around 🙂
MAC Prep& Prme Transluscent is the best I’ve found. It’s never cakey and keeps the oilies away for hours.
I use MUFE HD and it works great!
just hate the smell. haha!
bare essentials: mineral vail….. no doubt about that:D
I just got that today! i used to use it and i’m glad that i got a new one.
I love MUFE HD. I have dry skin and I thought the silica would exacerbate the problem but it didn’t. I was also put off by the fact that it’s pure white. However, it blends in effortlessly and I only need the TINIEST amount to cover my whole face. The only thing I don’t like is that you have to open the jar very carefully or the powder goes flying.
ELF high def powder. Works well, very inexpensive, I’m happy 🙂
Me too! The ELF powder is great. I haven’t tried the MUFE, but for $6, I’ll stick with ELF. (:
I use this too, it’s great! and cheapo for a setting powder, which suits me!
Marcelle Loose Translucent Powder. Only available in Canada, and the jar is pretty ugly looking, but it is amazing and has lasted me years.
I agree!
I’ll have to try that, Marcelle has been great to me so far!
Make Up Forever HD Setting Powder is awesome…
Well, I think Laura Mercier, Cle de Peau, Paul & Joe and Givenchy, they all have the best loose powders, if there has to be only one out, I’ll pick Cle de Peau.
Caron
Dior Diorskin Hydrating Loose Powder
I love UD’s Razor sharp. It doesn’t cover the glow, and it’s soooo smooth.
I ordered this recently – I can’t wait to get it!
i agree – it’s perfect in every way, and keeps me glowy and fresh all day long!
i love this powder too! it makes me look so smooth and flawless and sets my foundation great!
I would also have to agree! Cover FX has a nice setting powder too.
Ben Nye Banana Powder. It’s absolutely invisible, lightweight and doesn’t irritate my skin at all.
the only powder that helps combat my oily skin is mac blot powder. i use it to set even though it can look a little ashy and doesn’t give a soft focus airbrushed effect like say revlon colorstay powder but it’s still awesome and my HG
I have generic silica powder from Coastal Scents that I mix with Ben Nye Banana Powder. Love it!
I love MAC’s Prep&Prime translucent powder.
Cargo Blu Ray Powder
i love the nars loose powder in ‘flesh’
I’d pick NARS or Chanel powders. I’ve also tried MAC and Bobbi Brown, but they’re a bit coarse for my taste.
MUFE HD
I love Cinema Secrets powder in Custard. Cinema Secrets is a brand that doesnt get the recognition it deserves and the pale yellow powder is very flattering on my light skin with yellow undertones
I love elfs complexion perfection for setting neutrogena healthy skin foundation
i know i’m not original but…Mufe HD
MUFE HD or its cheaper sister, Coastal Scents silica powder spheres, hands down!
mac’s mineralize skinfinsh natural <3
Another MSF Natural fan here.. and we have the same name! 🙂
Now us 3, haha:) My name is Anna too. And I also use MSF Natural as setting powder.
No way, haha. It must be an Anna thing!
I love eve pearl’s HD pressed powder, its amazing
Smashbox Halo and MUFE HD. Each has a different finish so I can justify owning both 🙂
I’ve been using the clinique blended face powder in invisible blend over my foundation for over a year, and I love it. It really gets rid of all the shine and hasn’t caused any breakouts on me. I have heard alot of good things about other setting powders but for right now I’m “not going to fix what ain’t broken.”
I love the blended face powder too! I use #2 and have gone through about 5 jars already love it!
I LOVE the MAC Truth & Light Magically Cool Liquid Powder from the Venomous Villains Collection (Dr. Facilier); it gives a really nice finish to the skin.
So I just recently got a sample of MUFE HD powder…I haven’t tried it yet, cause I’m not quite sure how to use it. I know I put it on top of everything…but does it take the place of my MAC Mineralize powder? Or do I put it on top of that too? Any words of advice peoples?
You should not put your setting powder on top of everything, only on top of your concealer and foundation. After you set your foundation/concealer you then apply blush/bronzer/highlogter/etc… You can eventually put a bit of fix plus on top of everything at the end.
Oddly enough I really love Clinique’s translucent powder. It seems to be slightly green toned which counter-acts the redness in my skin while leaving a smooth non-powdery finish.
I like MAC Blot Powder and Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Powder and I really really want to try NARS Loose Powder! =)
Anyone tried the Becca Cosmetics loose powder? quite similar to Laura Mercier.
bobbi brown sheer finish pressed powder! It’s so sheer and natrual, most importantly it controls shine all day.
Love Bobbbi Brown. It gives a natural glow to my skin and looks so natural. I use Golden Orange. Been using her pressed powder and foundation for years. It matches my skin so nicely.
i alternate bw laura mercier setting powder (translucent not the mineral one), MUFE HD, and mineral veil, depending on the foundation/tinted moisturizer i use (i find that brands work great with brands).
I’ve always used Estee Lauder translucent powder. I’ve always liked how light it is. Recently I discovered Palladio Rice Powder (thanks to MakeupGeek) and I really really like it.
Me too! dont you love it!?
MAC Mystery Powder. Only one I’ve found that doesn’t break me out or make me look like a craggy looking hag.
What do you guys think of Bobbi brown illuminating finishing powder? I’ve tried it yesterday.. Seems nice. Should I get it?
I am in love with MAC’s prep and prime transparent finishing powder 🙂
I have such oily skin and this helps a TON
Mac MSF Natural (winter), Mac Blot Powder (summer)!
Personally, I love Ocean Mist Cosmetics’ Silken Perfection Finishing Powder – it’s just pure joy & love on my skin.
Make Up Forever HD Powder is the best I have ever tried for my skin type. That stuff is just lovely. I save mine for special occasions and times when photos are to be taken because it makes my skin look so good. For everyday I use a Yardley powder. It just works really good with my skin.
NARS powder fdtn controls oil like nothing else for me, loose is great too. MAC Pro Set Invisible is good too.
Definately Nars loose powder.
I am currently using Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil & Coastal Scents Silica powder mixed. Works great for my oily skin.
For me it’s either MAC’s Blot Powder (I have super oily acne-prone skin) or most recently, MUFE’s HD powder. Both don’t turn ashy on me and keep my oily skin in check.
Palladio Rice Powder in translucent. I love this stuff because its translucent loose powder, absorbs oil, controls shine, and lasts throughout the day! I learned about it from MUG and she loves it too! Pretty finely milled and soft! I use a puff to apply.
I have 2 faves for every day, Urban Decay’s Razor Sharp Ultra Definition Finishing Podwer and Too Faced’s Absolutely Invisible Pressed Powder. Normally I use UD in the morning and save TF for touch ups while I’m out. Now if I go the shimmer and sparkle route I’ll use MAC’s Venomous Villians Magically Cool Liquid Powder in Dr Facilier Truth and Light in the AM and touch up with Too Faced’s Absolutely Invisible Candlelight throughout the day.
I’ve also found that if I gently press my powder into my foundation first and then do a light buff/dusting over the face. This helps everything to stay set longer, my shininess doesn’t appear as quickly or as oily when it does, and a quick touch up doing the press and dust is all I need.
Laura Mercier
Laura Mercier translucent setting powder is the best!! You don’t have to apply much and it’s so smooth!!
I’ve never used a setting powder because I generally use powder foundation and set it with a spray. I’ve been using pro longwear lately, though and feel like it really doesn’t need to be set with powder.
MUFE HD!
T.LeClerc poudre libre. Loose poweder made of rice powder
also available in bunch of different colours.
It s an amazing product
its history is almost 100 years old
i love clarins and la mer’s loose powder. i have mufe hd loose powder but it gets a little chalky on me 🙁
i also use guerlin meteorite balls
loreal visible lift works perfectly for me. it adds a bit of evening out and lightens/brightens and it’s really fine and really doesn’t settle in lines. doesn’t require touch ups for 6+ hrs usually. works really well with the flocked cloth applicator included, I dab it on lightly then smooth it gently across to even it out and remove any excess.
I alternate between MAC MSF and MUFE HD Powder depending on the finish I’m going for 🙂
I am late to the game on this one, but am surprised to see that no one has recommended Jurlique’s finishing powders – I *love* the Citrus powder for oilier skin (they also have lavender and rose powers for other skin types). It smells absolutely amazing and is very finely milled – I left my favorite LM powder behind for it, in fact. I use it in the morning and have very little need for oil blotting papers throughout the day afterwards.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural or Lancome Dual finish. In the summertime I swear by Nars powder foundation, it’s so lightweight and mattifying when used as a setting powder.
