Now there’s something different. Not my thing, but for the right person I think that would be absolutely fantastic.
My thoughts exactly!
Curious to see the swatches
I hope this is good. I ordered it first thing this morning. I like the combo of solid mattes with her metallics. I had planned on getting the ABH Mario palette but this may replace it since I think the palette affords more eye looks. (Of course, since Mario isn’t released yet, I could change my mind!)
Or get both. Let us know your general verdict, as many of us are interested, and Christine must be feeling the holiday pressures of the pipeline. No way Ms C can cover all we want to know instantaneously.
kjh, Sorry, forgot to reply back after I got the palette. I have swatches, not stellar like Christine’s, but swatches nonetheless posted on my Instagram and Twitter (@Binxcat4ever). I posted them yesterday (9/28). The metal crush shadows are all extremely well pigmented and easy to blend. The mattes are generally good with the exception of the lightest shades (white, bone and yellow to some extent). The lighter shades don’t have as much pigmentation to them so they work to build the shades up; not a huge loss since they aren’t “special”. The cobalt blue does stain – at least my arm! the palette is huge – like a foot long. It’s bulky and has a good amount of weight to it. So, it’s not a travel palette. Overall, I think KVD hit it out of the park with this. It’s a winner and for all the looks that can be created, I think it’s worth the price.
Hey! Do you know of a dupe for Velvet?
I can’t justify buying this palette, as I have her Mi Vida Loca Remix from last year, and I am not huge into colors. But I MUST get my hands on Velvet!!! It is stunning.
Me too!! I ordered mine this morning. Ever since I saw the sneak peeks on social media, I’ve been waiting and waiting months for this palette to launch. SO thrilled to see the entire top row (9 shadows) are in the Metal Crush formula (woohoo!!!). They look much smaller, but I never finish shadow anyway. And I love the mix of metallics and mattes, can do my eye with one palette, and it looks cooler toned too. Mine is suppose to come Weds, can’t wait. If it’s not good, I can always return, but I didn’t want to miss out.
Finish shadow? What is that exactly? 😉
Her palettes seem do do better than not so I was willing to risk it. I love the 3 contour ones I have and the only reason I gave away my Interstellar is because I found I wasn’t using the shades that much and wanted to make room for other palettes.
I like this palette, an equal mix of mattes and metallic shades. Plus the mattes aren’t just neturals, there’s some color. I noticed Synergy is in this, I hope the rest of the colors are the same formula.
I’d been stalking Sephora every day for this (OK, I check out Sephora several times a day, every day) and ordered it immediately when it went live this morning. The on-line swatches look gorgeous but I’d have purchased it in any case. Psyched!
Really interesting palette and concept. And I am so glad to see she’s put the NAMES of the shadows where they’re useful!
This is one I’ll have to see in-person, to see how the shades look on me…
I’m also a bit apprehensive, and wonder how much effort went into it. This is the inside of the palette that was all over Kat’s social media when she was “sneak-peeking” the Serpentina packaging, and given the upcoming Too Faced collaboration, I wonder if this palette was an “afterthought”…?
Whoa. If this performs well, I will break my palette no-buy!
After Serpentina, though, I’m not too hopeful. :/
It is my birthday so I ordered this one as soon as I saw it up on Sephora.com!!
I keep debating back and forth if I want this palette. I’ve been wanting to try Kat Von D’s shadows and I love the variety in this palette; especially all the mattes! I’m just not sure how often I would use some of the brighter colors. And why in the world are there so many blues? I count three. I think I will get it. At $2.86 a shadow it is a good deal, and I love those beautiful mattes!
Can’t wait for the swatches!
I love the sound of the shade descriptions, but the swatches provided by KVD have proven to be VERY confusing. Some look like the above description, others have shown dark, murky colors. Can hardly wait until we get to see your swatches, Christine, because yours will be far more consistent and accurate.
On twitter, there are 2 sets of swatches, one by KVD (yes, the mattes look dark, like all black) and another one by I think a blogger/customer. The blogger/customer swatches look pretty sharp and clear, a few of the whites/silvers look similar (could be the lighting), but the others look very distinct blues/purples/grays/greens, etc..
The sense that I got – and the reason I ordered it – was that the mattes were geared towards a colored smokey eye, which is my favorite kind of smokey eye. I’m excited to play with it.
That’s my problem, too. I want to see it in person, or at least some reviews. Hopefully, it won’t see out too quickly.
I really hope this one sticks around long enough to form an opinion of it, good or bad. Even “meh”. But something!
Although the colours in the KVD palette seem more lively, I incline towards the ABH x Mario palette as it appeals more to me. I see myself using each colour in the ABH Master Palette by Mario whereas it’s not the case with the KVD one.
This palette looks so interesting! Not something I want for myself at the moment, but I hope it reviews well for all the people who do want it. I’m definitely curious to see if it performs well.
Oooh. This strikes me as a rather unique set-up. I can’t wait to see swatches!
The palette is too large. I would not use half of the colors.
Ok now THIS is the polar opposite of a yawn worthy palette. Like the shades for your personal style or not, ya gotta admit this one sure isn’t boring! Bravo KVD! She’s winning me back.
Look so nice !!! I am very excited to see the swatches and review ?

Now this looks interesting…… gorgeous shades and different finishes.
I was looking at this yesterday, I think but will pass. Love the colors but have spent much to much on eyeshadow palettes this month. Hope it’s good.
I told myself I was done buying for this year…but this is so prettttttyyyyyy! Plus the everlasting liquid mini set is just too good to pass up. Kat von d taking all my money. :s lol
Finally, something to break the monotony of the roughly 4 million neutral holiday palettes out there. About time. I’ll definitely be asking for this one for Christmas.
The shimmers look interesting and pretty, I am concerned the darker mattes might look muddy. Can’t wait to see what eye look Christine come’s up with using this palette!
This palette looks beautiful. Does anyone know a dupe for Ignite?
Well there you have it — a unique palette! I was starting to think it couldn’t be done.
