Look: Chanel SoHo Story

I finally received my Chanel SoHo Story goodies that I ordered last week (blast them! for only allowing me to select ground shipping) on Monday, and here’s a quick look I created using nearly all Chanel products.  Reviews of several of the products to follow shortly! 🙂

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base (neutral eyeshadow base), Chanel Stupendous Eyeshadow Quad (icy blue, plummy brown, burgundy brown, soft pink), Chanel Cassis EyelinerChanel Inimitable Intense Mascara (plum), (black)
  • Face: Make Up For Ever HD Foundation (140), Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder (translucent)
  • Cheeks: Chanel SoHo de Chanel Blush (darkened rose)
  • Lips: Chanel Stunning Rouge Coco Lipstick (muted pink-beige), Chanel Star Glossimer (sheer icy pink shimmer)
  • Brushes: 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 222 (fluffy crease brush), 116 (dense blush brush)

For eyes, start by applying Smudgeproof as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply the icy blue eyeshadow on the inner third of the lid and pull upwards along the inner tearduct, and then lightly blend out along the upper lash line towards the middle. Lightly blend the plummy brown eyeshadow on the middle of the lid and pull outwards to the outer lid with the 239. Next, apply the burgundy brown eyeshadow into the crease with the 222, lightly blending onto the outer lid. Blend the soft pink eyeshadow with the crease shade and highlight the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Cassis eyeliner on the lower lash line. Finish by sweeping lashes with Inimitable Intense mascara.

For cheeks, apply SoHo de Chanel blush on the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply Stunning lipstick first, and then layer Star glossimer for a complementing lip.

Gorgeous look Christine! I didn’t end up getting anything because I couldn’t find any good swatches (the swatches on the Chanel website are truly *horrible*). The Stunning lipstick looks gorgeous! Very pretty!

I love how you used these colors. The icy blue color in the inner turned out nice, but I would love to try this! Nice job!! Isn’t this collection gorgeous?!

this is pretty. I wouldn’t have thought of putting dark brown with icy blue but it really works! I tried your birthday cake look you did ages ago again at the weekend and it worked out really well.

This is so pretty! This look is very special, but doesn’t come across as so dazzling that you would look out of place wearing it on any given day. It suits you very well! Love everything about it!

Gorgeous Christine! You really have skill girl! I know this is kinda random but you should totally add coastal scents HD foundation to your foundation matrix. Since it’s online, I’m sure alot of us are having trouble picking a colour. Help!!

Hey Jessika,

New foundations are added when people can add their shade match to it – that way it’s based on people who’ve actually tried the foundation, have such and such skin tone, etc. Even though it’s not 100% accurate, it’s more accurate than the alternative!

Super gorgeous look! I thought the silvery blue in the inner corner of your eye was too much in the close-up but it looks great in the full face shots. I also thought you were wearing one of the MAC dazzle lipsticks because your lips are so sparkly!

really pretty!! I love the lipstick. I didn’t get the glossimer but it goes really well w/the lipstick. I haven’t tried out the quad yet, but I am anxious too seeing what you were able to produce 🙂

Any chance you have a swatch of the new Rouge Allure Laque (is that what it’s called) on lips? I’ve seen a swatch on skin but not on the lips…

What really stands out in this look to me is that icy blue color. Just gorgeous. Your looks are usually really good but that eyeshadow is what makes it amazing. This has got to be my favorite! 🙂

It may be cool-toned, but it’s not overly so I guess because You are totally rocking it! 🙂 Wish it wasn’t a US something only. 🙁 But I think I’ll be duping it tomorrow with MAC Satin Taupe or UD Mushroom, some champagne colour (not sure which one yet)and maybe MAC Suave Intentions. The weather’s gottan all gloomy-cold here anyways. 🙂
