i would say the clarisonic but since i already own it, i would LOVE to purchase the guerlain rouge g. in fact that is next on my list, i tried it at the store and i think it’s both great on my lips and eye candy for my eyes.

I have 2 that I have recommended they really aren’t splurges yet if on a budget they are…Make up Forever HD Foundation and the Makeup Forever HD translucent powder.

Georgio Armani Lasting Silk Foundation… has all the luminosity of the Lasting Silk foundation with an amazing semi-matte finish, never makes me break out and blends so easily! Lasts all day! I’m obsessed!

I feel like everyone needs one really fabulous and expensive lipstick that comes in a really beautiful case. But other than that, perfume seems to be worth the extra cash more than makeup. 😉

I can’t name just one product, because everyone is so different, but I’d say that once you find a “holy grail” foundation, go ahead and splurge on it.

One expensive skincare product worth getting is Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum. This stuff does wonders, if my skin looks dull and blah and is starting to break out, this always does miracles and saves me overnight.

I don’t know if hair products count, but if they do, then a great flat iron! Ceramic ones won’t burn your hair and they’ll get the job done faster. Personally, I love my GHD IV Styler 🙂

Does Dior powder count? I haven’t tried a lot of loose powders, but the Dior one seems nice and my skin feels really soft and smooth after applying it.

La Prairie 3 minute peel and their resurfacing cream, and this new serum by Keraskin Esthetics called Pure 195. Keraskin is made by the Kerastase people which should be L’Oreal, but it’s supposed to good and it’s cheaper than La Prairie’s things.

I have the La Prairie 3 min peel and got a sample of the resurfacing cream – combined together, it really works! La Prairie is one of the priciest skin care brands but some of the items are worth it.

Shiseido Future Solutions cream….it’s over $200 so it’s a REAL splurge, but it smells heavenly and it works wonders, especially as a night cream. I’ve had one pot last me a LONG time, too, so it comes out less than a dollar a day anyway. 🙂

Burberry eyeshadows – you get more product then a Chanel or MAC so, in my mind at least – it’s not AS expansive. They’re just so smooth, great neutral colors.

I would say to splurge on Foundation. It is something that can make or break your face. It is the basis on which the rest of your makeup will be judged upon!

Cosmetics – Cle de Peau Extra Silky Lipstick… these are the ULTIMATE!
Skincare – La Prairie Cellular Resurfacing Cream. This transformed my acne prone/sun damaged/combination skin… you actually do see results overnight!

Definitely foundation and a quality brush to apply it. Finding good stuff has made all the difference in the world to my complexion.

That and Chanel Dragon. ^_~

a good quality foundation and/or a proper eye primer/concealer. it’s no fun using foundation on the eyes and having it run later causing eye irritation and a spoiled make up look!

Katie Avatar

Mmm, a great foundation and Dior Amber (or Rose) Diamond.
Are you essentially paying $46 for shimmery powder? Yes.
Is there anything quite like it? No.

Your perfect foundation, for sure! While you COULD splurge on skincare, I have had a lot of luck with natural products such as grapeseed oil and lemon juice. To be honest, I think as natural and as few chemicals as possible is my skincare preference.

Ashley Avatar

I’d say splurge on lipstick (because it’s my favorite makeup item) and invest in good skincare items (so you don’t have to splurge on foundation).

It’s certainly not what you need to splurge on, but I’m always on the lookout for affordable ways to get hold of lux palettes or face powder compacts. Something cute to take with you on a night out versus something that just sits in your makeup drawer and nobody sees I like to try to go for something that has nice, conversation starting packaging.

This may sound too general, but I’d say that you should splurge on any product that is a staple for you. I wear black mascara every day or no makeup at all. I’ve tried a lot of different brands and formulas but for the last 3 years Chanel Inimitable has been the best by a long shot. $30 for something I throw away every 2-3 months would make some cringe, but I truly believe it’s worth every penny.

The VitaLumiere foundation. No other “moisturizing” formula that I’ve tried looks as good on my dry skin as this. It’s so super dewy, yet still gives great coverage.

Mar Avatar

Good skincare absolutely.
You can buy the best and most beautiful makeup out there but if you don’t take good care of your skin, it will never look like it should.

Another splurge is a good foundation.
It’s the base of the rest of your makeup so why not invest in a good quality foundation that makes your skin look flawless?
