OMG, what are they doing to me?? First UD Vice with like 100, then ANOTHER 120 from Smashbox, not to mention dozens from other brands! Just when I got my lipstick wish list down to the top 37 LOL Ok, ok but I do have Violet Riot from Smashbox, and it is gorgeous!! The formula applies and wears almost like a red lipstick, which is very impressive given that it’s a purple. It definitely swatches better than any of its dupes UD Pandemonium, UD Jawbreaker, or Maybelline Violet Vixen, so I will definitely be checking their purples out

NICE!! Smashbox is one of my favorite brands but I always thought they could use more color selections so this is great to see them expand on the ranges, this is exciting.

Take THAT, UD! Not nuts about whatever preservatives Smashbox does or doesn’t use. Not sensitivity, but I have found they go bad more quickly than many others. Also, what finish is the tube? The rubberized, like Nars, was a former tube finish. With Nars, the product held up, when the tube deteriorated. Smashbox, they both went off. Well, it’s not like we don’t have a bazillion choices to replace lipstick. In case anyone doesn’t here’s 120 more. It’s kind of hard to understand how the market is not saturated at this point.

I totally agree on rubberized packaging for both Smashbox and NARS (and Bare Escentuals lipstick from the past, not sure about their current ones). What a waste of product. They would rather put their lipsticks, eyeshadows and everythign else into paper packaging, so it would be easy to depot at the least. I am no longer buying anything from them for the reasons of sticky packaging. Smashbox lipsticks and glosses go bad really fast for sure and even faster with lip palettes. Just a disposable product for a couple of uses before both the product and the tube go bad, imho.

Oh, YAY! Their Fig color has long been a stand-by for me, and I love the Legendary formula, but as others have said, the color selection was limited. I’m excited!

Another huge lipstick release. The mind reels. Given earlier positive reviews of Smashbox lipsticks, this might be right time for me to try out the brand, once these reach the stores.

Bonnie Avatar

They were. And UD reformulated to have the traditional bullet and exact same price tag as MAC to compete with them. I have to wonder how many other companies are gonna roll out huge lipstick line-ups now…

You know what would be great?? A hundred shades of FOUNDATION!!!!!! Take note, brands with limited shade ranges (i.e.Everyone) !!! If you can make room for 100+ shades of lipstick in your permanent ranges, then why you so behind the times on shades for super light and dark skin tones in foundation – c’mon people. Rant over. 😉

Lani Avatar

A great point! I find it so difficult to find a matching shade of foundation, especially with SPF. I resort to powders instead, for their forgiving shades. I know there is a ton of people with light and dark skin tones that have the same issue of having to blend several foundations to create a matching shade. In U.S., they believe that the lightest skin tone is similar to Japanese with yellow undertones or simiar to redhead pale skin with red undertones but what about the rest of Caucasians whose pale skin tones could have any possible undertone besides yellow or red? What about Indians and African Americans with a ton of different skin undertones as well?

Sharon Avatar

Please swatch these when they come out! Kr if they are out, when you have them, swatch them! I have one Smashbox lipstick, Chai, which I love and I really want to extend my collection.
Also I wish you would try on all of MAC’s foundation, and do some suuuuuper colseups. I always feel my skin is not nice and I seriously don’t know what others skin look like upclose and personal.
