I’d probably do a nude lip if I’m doing a really bright eye. I recently went through all my lipsticks and swatched them all (for a personal file) and now I’ve discovered that some of my favorites are already discontinued! 🙁 I think Mac Mellow Mood will go nicely with blue eyeshadow.

Sharon M Avatar

I’d pair a blue-based pink (midtone) with blue eyeshadow, along with a cool-toned blush. I wear blue, even though I have gray-blue eyes, by pairing it with other shadows (like Vex).

The Beauty Queen from Mars Avatar

Since the blues are really strong, I’d probably go for a quite neutral lip, MAC’s Plink! probably. When I am really, really daring, I think I would go for a corally pink as a contrast to the eyes. Speed Dial would be my go-to lippie.

Lyndsay Avatar

I’d put a brown into the crease to tone it down a bit and make it more wearable for me. And, I would wear a nude lip. Blues are hard for me to wear and I wouldn’t want to feel over the top with it.

Miss Silver Avatar

I pair it with brown eyeliner, as I think brown and blue have this great vibe when juxtaposed. I also would wear brown mascara, and a taupe blush; call me crazy, but blue and brown just works for me.

Riane Kemner Avatar

I’d choose a nude lip color. The blue eyeshadow is pretty intense, so you have to keep it neutral on the lips. This way my eyes will pop out even more..

BTW I love love love the atlantic blue and wrinkle eyeshadows, I hope you’ll pick me as a winner!

love,

Rianne

Amber Avatar

I usually lightly apply MAC honey love lipstick and then apply MAC baby sparks dazzleglass over it. I like the way the blue shadow makes the glitter on my lips pop.

Jacquelyn Avatar

A lip color that I would pair with blue eyeshadows is Lovelorn l/s since pinks makes the perfect statement with blue eyeshadows and I have not yet done a complete blue eyeshadow look since I’m always pairing blues with teals.

Kajsa/Monticka Avatar

I’d pair it with the funky Dare to wear lipglass, Gimme that!
I don’t have it (altho I want to), but I know it would look so cool on me, along with everything blue because it has some blue to it! Unique aswell!

RT’ed, nickname: Monticka

Molly Avatar

I would pair light sky blue eyeshadow with a frosty light pink lip, like MAC Pet Me Please, royal blue with a bright red or dark red lip, like MAC Russian Red or Kittenish, and darker/navy blue with a nude lip like Revlon Soft Nude 😀

Laura Avatar

I like to warm up blue eyeshadow a bit with a pale coral-ish colour – something like Colour Me Coral, Sandy B, or Lollipop Loving. I’d probably add a dab of Nymphette or Cha Cha lipglass to tone down the frostiness.

Isabelle Avatar

Oh! and I would LOVE if I won those! I’m out of money for the moment and I really REALLY wanted Atlantic Blue. I follow you on Twitter and check your website twice a day!

It would mean so much to me!
Thank you

Lina Avatar

personally, i would you with winkle all over the lid, atlantic blue blended in outer crease, goldmine blended into middle of the lid. and i would line my lower lash line with the gold superslick eyeliner 🙂

Madelynn Avatar

Whoa! Thanks for the opportunity Christine!
I love pairing bright golds in the inner half of the lid, with blue on the outer corner and a deeper blue in the crease. :]

Christina Avatar

I’d probably put them together with Aqua, and Mylar as a highlight color…or maybe do something with Atlantic Blue and Bitter together with a navy eyeliner. I would play with them a lot to see what I like best…(my Melon pigment is also begging to be paired with one of those colors!!!

Hilary♥ Avatar

Call me old-fashioned or anything, but there’s nothing like Blue and Black or Blue and Gold. I have brown eyes so Blue and Gold make my eyes stand out =)
If I used and Blue/Black combination then I’d go for either a pink nude or light pink lipstick, and light pink blush. Otherwise, with the Blue/Gold combination I’d wear a peachy nude or white (I mean no color) lipgloss and a good highlighter.

Tiffanie Avatar

i’ll definitely pair blue eyeshadow with a nude lip. My favorite is blankety from Mac, it’s not too nude but more of a nudey pinkish lipstick….

Jenn Avatar

For day, M.A.C.’s Viva Glam IV lipstick (a lovely pinky-nude that doesn’t make the eye/lip combo look like cotton candy). For night, MUFE’s Rouge Artist Intense in 13 (the plummy-pink color will pick up and reflect the blue tones of the shadows without looking too circus-y).

Linda Avatar

It depends on the look, but I just purchased benefit la la land and I think it would be gorgeous with blues (or just about anything! It’s almost a nude on me)

Lo Avatar

I would pair a peachy beige neutral lip, like MAC Marquise ‘D or Patisserie Lipsticks, or Frankly Fresh lipglass, for cheeks I’d use Shell Pearl beauty powder, or The perfect Cheek blush.

Allie Avatar

Like everyone else, with a blue eye I’d go for something in the nude/neutral range. Though, I did recently do a blue eye then use Vegas Volt lightly. it looked really good!

McKenna Avatar

I would pair a magenta toned pink pitick with blue shadow. Of course the lipstick would be light and still look natural, but a magenta toned pink lip would look great.

Eliza Avatar

I would use Mutiny pigment in the inner half of the lid, then fade it out to Winkle. Atlantic Blue would be in the crease. I would wear this with a glittery silver eyeliner from Urban Decay. On my lips I would wear MAC’s Love Nectar lipglass.

hannah Avatar

a pure red lip if i’m going nautical or a nudish pink or any light pinbk shade! 🙂 so as not to overpower the eye colour but still have a little colour on the lips

Audri Avatar

A bright blue lid would constitute a bright coral lip for going out or something like that. Otherwise, I would use the blue shadow for a blue smokey eye and pair that with a nude lip – fierce!

Danielle Avatar

With a blue eyeshadow I’d need to wear a “bright-ass” pink. I’m talking about something borderline neon pink to maybe even a creamy cool toned pink like the Viva Glam Gaga.

Isabelle Avatar

I don’t think my last comment went through, but I’d pair it with a nude lip, or a nice blueish baby pink. I’d really love to win those. I’m out of money right now, but I really REALLY wanted to get the winkle shadow. Thank you!

Jessika k Avatar

A light baby pink in eye corners, silver ES on the lid and a nice medium blue for the crease! Mac blush in coygirl and viva glam gaga and lipglass to perfect the look!

Carrie Ann Avatar

I’d pair a subtle pink or nude lip color w/ blue eye shadow, something like Flusterose Lustreglass, Pinkarat Lustreglass, Underage Lipglass or Florabundance Lipglass. I think it would look best paired w/ a soft, subtle lip gloss.

Suzy R Avatar

I’d use NARS “All About Eve” (rt side) as an all-over shadow base, and then the blue as outer corner “V”, black mascara and no eye-liner. Barely contoured cheeks (NARS Douceur) and natural/pinky lips (Jane Iredale Lip Fixation in Fascination)

chloedid Avatar

I would use some black e/s to darken the outer V and maybe some silver to highlight the inner corner. I would keep the face fresh and clean, and maybe bare slimshine on the lips!

Belinda Avatar

I would wear a barely nude pencil with a moth to the flame lip gloss. This will allow your color of your eyes stand out without too much focus on the lips but just enough to accent the whole look.

Han Na Kim Avatar

i think nude color will be best lip color to match with blue eye shadow!
because blue color itself is point color, so lip color must be nude to make your blue eyeshadow pop out

Opheliana Avatar

Nude lip, no doubt. I have blue eyes, so when I pair blue eyeshadow with a nude lip and all over pale and natural face I get a pretty cool effect.

cate from italy Avatar

With blue e/s i will probably use a nude color like ‘soft nude’ lipstick by revlon or a pink gloss like the mac cremesheen glass in ‘fashion scoop’

KAM Avatar

I would pair it with something like Creme d ‘Nude Lipstick topped with a clear gloss. Or for a more bold lip something like Smoked Purple (applied lightly and blotted!) topped with a golden gloss.

Tash Avatar

I’d wear a pinky nude on the lips as the eyes would be the focus… a little UD zero on the waterline with the blue shadow on the lash and I’d be done! (could add a light pink/natural colour to the cheeks) 🙂

Kat Avatar

Something Katy Perry inspired….maybe hot pink lips, false lashes, winged liner, a dust of shimmerly blush, and taupe shadow for crease with the blue shadow on the lids.

Tomi Avatar

wellll. this is hard for me. i’d have to play around to see for sure, but i think a bright pink, a nude lip, or even an orangey color would look great. 🙂

suzette rodriquez Avatar

i would wear a very nude lip, one that matches the color of your skin. I cant name an exact one because we are all differnt colors 🙂 but i definately think that the look would look on any skin color.

regina Avatar

hmm…i think i would keep the lip pretty simple with a bright eye. I would wear Chanel Glossimer in Glaze. It adds a little bit of pink color and pretty shininess.

Multy Avatar

Blue eyeshadows are kind of tricky. If I’m using a blue as just a liner, I will pair more bold colors with it, like blue based pinks/purples, either light (kind of like the Viva Glam Gaga) or mid-tone, like the Petals and Peacocks lipstick.

However, if it’s a more complex blue eye, I usually stick to kind of sheerer nudes and nude pinks, like NYX’s round gloss in Whipped, which is a great nude color that lets just the right amount of your natural lip color peek through.

j0o626 Avatar

I’m a fan of pink lipstick I always were pink lipstick I can’t live without it. I think I would pair it with lazy day lipstick from macs to the beach collection

Stacie Avatar

I would pair a lighter color with the lighter blue such as Rimmel Lipstick in Airy Fairy and a darker shade with the darker blue such as Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Lilac

Kat Avatar

Something neutral like a soft, soft coral to tone down the look but is still complimentary with the blues. Examples: Sea Sheer by MAC, Soft Coral or Coral Chic by Rimmel.

(Or a nude lip colour could work too, but I think a soft coral would look best as it would balance out)

Janie Avatar

I would wear MAC Speak Louder Cremesheen with those eyeshadows… I love the look of coral-y reds lips with blue eyes… Kind of a new take on the 80s look, really modernized 🙂

Luciana Fadon Avatar

Certainly I would go for a light rose/nude. Depending on the tone of the blue, it would be a nice matte – that was my uni prom make-up: cat-eyeish navy blue with grey undertones and a mix of hue/loverlon from MAC. Stunning! 😉

Cassykins Avatar

I typically pair cool pinks and purples with a blue eyeshadow. Pervette would probably be a good choice. It’s not too “out there” that I think it would take away from the eye.

Karen Avatar

I pair a blue blue eye with my mac goldyrocks dazzleglass, i love the way it looks on any lip, plus i find the yellowish tones of glitter help contrast the blue

Alicia Avatar

I feel like Naked or Indecent from Urban Decay
Naked-Sheer pinky nude
Indecent-shimmery peachy pink

or of course
Viva Glam Gaga
or
Faux w/Urban Decay Lip Junkie in Runaway

Mariah Avatar

With blue shadow? Probably a light pink! I wear just about anything and any combo, but I’m always afraid of mixing bright blue and hot pink or red lips, for fear of looking like a snarky cafe waitress! LOL!

Irene Avatar

i would pair it with nude color lipstick like creme d’ nude or light pink lipstick like creme cup depending on the overall look that i want to achieve. Since blue eyeshadow is a strong eye color, i’d pair it with light lip color.

Christy Ordonez Avatar

Logically, I’d tone it down with a creamy nude. But logic has never manifested itself on my face, so I’m sure I’d do a wine colour. Or bubbly pink for that 80’s vibe.

Tifa Avatar

It depends on the kind of blue! Possibly a light, nude with a pink tint or a pastel coral with red undertones (which I just tried recently, with blue eyes!)

Annalisa Avatar

I’d pair nude lips (my favourites lipsticks are the two nude of the MAC Summer Crop lip bag and Viva Glam V)or a lipstick like Dressmaker,Dressmaker by MAC.

Kat Avatar

I’d do a slightly faded doll-pout – all the colour intensity in the center of the lip and just a smidgen in the corners. Probably Rebel lipstick – or a cool mid tone pink.

simplicity_ Avatar

i’ll pair it with a nude or pale pink colour lipstick since blue is already a bright colour so i would like to tone down the colour on my lips. 🙂

Cindy Avatar

I would wear a nude lip something like mac fresh brew or something a little brighter like mac most popular. It depends on my mood and where I am going really.

Cassie Avatar

I’d like blue and brown as a combination so a dark earth color will be nice with the eyes (dark brown eyeliner smudged up to the blue?). For lips, nude.

Lakitha Goss Avatar

I’d pair the Atlantic Blue eyeshadow with a nude lip. I would use the Atlantic Blue Shadow with a combination of Orange in the inner crease with a hint of Carbon eyeshadow in the outer crease. I would highlight the brow bone with Bronze eyeshadow.

For the Zingy I would use Carbon on the Lid with Zingy in the crease. I would use Parfait Amour as the Highlighter for the Brow bone. I would apply a soft Lipglass color such as Song and Dance to the Lip.

Liv Avatar

I’d pair a brighter pink gloss(!) with it, most likely MAC Hush, hush Rose from the spring color forecast.
I always find nude weird with blue eyes and corals don’t suit me very well

Svetlana Avatar

With a blue eyeshadow I would wear my favorite lipgloss from MAC – English Accents , it just looks so good on my lips and with my skin tone . My favorite eyeshadows are blues so I wear different shades of blue at least once-twice a week together with that lipgloss. It looks so pretty.

Jelissa Avatar

I would pair blue eye shadow with a dark purple like sketch or beauty marked or maybe a bright intense purple like #92 and I would top it off with mauve colored blush and a light coat of a lip gloss like love nectar.

Natalie Avatar

I would pair it with a nude/peach lip. I have an awesome nude Shiseido lipstick in the shade BR 702, a nude that doesn’t wash me out but puts the focus on my eyes. Thanks for the opportunity!

Justine Avatar

i think i’d pair winkle with sky blue, with a really think black liner winged out. and i keep thinking atlantic blue would make the prettiest liner, or even to add a little punch to a matte grey smoked out look, like maybe using mac’s scene? hot.

Janelle Avatar

I always like to do a nude or very neutral lip w/blue shadow. D&G Caramel Lipgloss, NARS Lipgloss in Striptease or MAC Lipglass in Florabundance are my top 3 choices.

Bitty-Lu Maurette Avatar

I would blend it out blend it out with with my kat von d bronzer or any light shimmery bronze color. And maybe a little little prussian blue on the outer corner and below the water line if it needed more dimension

jenni Avatar

I’d wear my cremesheen on the scene nude to enhance the blue eyeshadow for day wear but amp it up with cyndi’s viva glam lipstick dabbed on with fingers for a more careless look 😀

connie Avatar

“Hue” Works with most skin tones. or “sand “b”” could work…. want to keep neutral and allow the eyes to be the ” drama ” of the look. use “nymphate” lipglass or “partial to pink” cream sheen….. for darker skin tones I would pair it with ” a quite roar”. “Icescape” or “bountiful”

Shannon Avatar

I’d go with a nude l/s (like Revlon CB in Soft Nude) BUT topped with a corally lipgloss like Smashbox Crowned or Lancome Sunbaked Coral. This is mainly because real pale nudes look awful on me (conceal lips!) but having a semi sheer corally lipgloss on top gives me a nude-ish pale peachy lips instead. Very pretty and very soft, so would probably look good with a blue!

Carmen Avatar

I would pair blue eyeshadow with a darker blue liner such as Prussian or even Nehru and keep the other areas in the cool shade. Maybe Dollymix blush lightly on the cheeks and any pinky or cool lipstick.

KARYNA Avatar

BLUE EYESHADOWS ARE MY FAVORITES AND I DO NOT WANT TO LOOK LIKE A CLOWN SO I LIKE TO USE A NUDE LIPSTICK OR VERY LIGHT PINK WITH A SOFT BLUSH. DAME IS PRETTY. ALSO PRIM AND PROPER FROM G L OF LONDON IS VERY PRETTY IS A EVERYDAY USED TO ME B\C IT GOES W EVERYTHING

Brit Avatar

Typically, I go for BRIGHT blues if I’m wearing them at all. In that case, usually a nude lip like MAC Creme de Nude and maybe a light once over with MAC Soft and Gentle MSF 🙂

Yenny V Avatar

I love blue eyeshadows with a corals. So I think coral cheeks and nude lips with a coral tone. NYX Smokey Look lipgloss & MAC Instant Chic blush are great!

Lizzy Avatar

Oh, definately Violetta! Perfect purple lippie from MAC. I’m in love with these two colors, but light blues are tough to not look like the 1970’s with feathered hair and Jovan Musk wafting through the air…

Both are very cool blues; maybe to wear with a blue violet color of purple smudged at the outer corner? Then a purple lipstick- pink or red are out of the question, they’d be battling the blue so hard you’d look cross eyed! And the “nude lip” is so boring. Besides- it’s really just a light pink anyway so the same battle would ensue.

You never know until you get it on your face…. The back up? Rags to Riches Dazzleglass! Glitter with Matte eyes can work beautifully. And it’s actually neutral. Maybe some Designer Purple MAC Cremestick liner? Hmmm…. This one was tough, but fun to ponder.

Anita Avatar

Jeez, with crazy shades like that? Lip balm or maybe Maybelline Pink Please lipstick. x) Unless I was deliberately trying to look psychotic – then RED LIPSTICK, BABY! No blush in that case. I’m strangely attracted to the “sickly pale and colorblind” look x)

Cayla Avatar

I think a stark nude lip might look weird w/ this particular look, so probably a creamy nude-pink or nude-peach.
Or any MLBB color really, like Urban Decay’s l/s in Naked Rush or Indecent =^)
