Welcome to New York Fashion Week S/S 2011!

Welcome to New York Fashion Week S/S 2011!

Today kicks off the one-week extravaganza that is New York Fashion Week! In the past, we’ve done extensive coverage of the beauty backstage at many of the shows.  We have created a special section devoted to all things Fashion Week, which you can easily access simply by clicking on the image on the top, right-hand side of the sidebar (the image looks very similar to the one above!).

How to Keep Up with NYFW

  • Temptalia.com:  Fashion Week: A whole section of our site devoted to all things Fashion Week!
  • New York Fashion Week S/S ’11 Tag:  Any and all posts related to this season’s fashion week will be tagged with this label
  • Beauty Brands Tweeting @ NYFW:  I’ve compiled a list of beauty brands and makeup artists known to be tweeting behind-the-scenes during the event.  If you love twitpics, one line breakdowns, it can be a fun way to follow the event.  I’m regularly looking and adding more brands/artists as I find them–if I’m missing anyone/brand, let me know!

For this season, we are testing out a new format to deliver the latest news and breakdowns from the runways with our own Fashion Week page. This means that the main page will not share the content that is on the Fashion Week page–so if you aren’t into NYFW, you won’t be overwhelmed by it amongst our regularly scheduled, daily content.  Instead, each day during Fashion Week, we’ll post a daily recap on the main page so those who are interested are kept in the loop, but you can also routinely check out our special Fashion Week section, which will be updated periodically throughout the day.

I’m not attending NYFW in person, but ironically, I find I do a much better job of covering the week-long event from home than I do when I’m there in person!  Happy feet and happy sleep wishes to all those attending and working at Fashion Week.

Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I’m really glad you are doing this format for covering Fashion Week. I will definitely check out the section on the website, but I am glad the main page will stay devoted to regular makeup stuff. 😀

We try to approve comments within 24 hours (and reply to them within 72 hours) but can sometimes get behind and appreciate your patience! 🙂 If you have general feedback, product review requests, off-topic questions, or need technical support, please contact us directly. Thank you for your patience!
