Your skin tone/coloring: light to medium with yellow undertones, dark brown eyes, black hair
Last skincare product you finished? probably Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer (which it isn’t, but it does what I want it to do)
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? yes, and I already have twice I think!
Last skincare product you purchased? Garnier micellar water (pink cap). It’s just okay, ha.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair, warm
Last skincare product you finished? it’s a tie: La Prairie Cellular Eye Contour Cream (for night time use), SK-II Cellumination Mask-In Lotion (I’m at very end of each currently). Both are silly expensive, but because I have temperamental, aging skin and nothing I’ve tried works as well on either count, I balance by using lower cost products wherever else I can (e.g., Cerave cleanser).
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? Yes, I have back ups for both. But after finishing those, am going to check out Paula’s Choice options.
Last skincare product you purchased? Kiehl’s ‘Ultra Facial’ Oil-Free Toner, to extend life of SK-II product and also deal with summer oiliness. So far, so good.
Your skin tone/coloring: porcelain
Last skincare product you finished? LUSH Celestial moisturizer
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? No, it wasn’t any better than the Mary Kay night cream that’s half the price.
Last skincare product you purchased? Sephora collection mud mask
Skin tone/coloring: light to medium with yellow undertones
Last skincare product you finished? Kiehl’s Rose Arctica eye cream and Wrinkle-Reducing Eye Cream at the same time.
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? Yes, both. Rose Arctica for night, the other for day (it has caffeine in it which helps with the bags).
Last skincare product you purchased? Kiehl’s Calendula Face wash. I probably on my fifth bottle of that
Your skin tone/coloring: Very fair/cool
Last skincare product you finished? ReVive Moisturizing Renewal Cream
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? Likely. I have some others to use first, but now that I’m finished, I do like the hydration it gave.
Last skincare product you purchased? The new cream in oil cleanser, clarifying cleansing scrub, clay mask and eye cream from Cle de Peau.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light/neutral
Last skincare product you finished? Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? Yes, would repurchase. I have a code for a free full size with any purchase so I’m waiting for a good cash back deal. meanwhile I’m using up some of my 10,000 samples of it!
Last skincare product you purchased? Does the Rodin & Fields microneedler count? If not, then probably the entire Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Line (which I also plan to repurchase). All of the products do as promised and the mask and Wake Up Balm are outstanding!
Your skin tone/coloring: Light / Fair
Last skincare product you finished? Oh I never finish skincare, but I’m (kind-of) close to finishing my Vichy LiftActiv Night Cream ($50.00 at Ulta).
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? I don’t know. I like how hydrating it makes my skin, but I want to try some cheaper alternatives for night cream to see if this is worth it.
Last skincare product you purchased? Well after I leave work I am going to purchase Mario Badescu Drying Lotion from Ulta. Technically it is a gift for my boyfriend, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to use it time to time… 🙂
My answer for all three questions is the same: I just finished Jan Marini’s Age Intervention Peptide Extreme, would definitely repurchase, and actually did repurchase first thing this morning!
Your skin tone/coloring: Very pale with pink undertones. Blonde hair, blue eyes
Last skincare product you finished? Dr. Jart+ Water Drop Hydrating Moisturizer
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? I got a very nice sample size in the Sephora Play September box, so I don’t have to repurchase immediately. But it is one of my HG products so I will purchase again soon!
Last skincare product you purchased? IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye
Coloring: light, neutral-ish, brown hair, brown eyes
Last skincare product finished: If makeup remover counts, NYX Eye and Lip Makeup Remover.
Would I repurchase: I have… It works, it’s cheap, and it’s cruelty free. No complaints.
Last skincare product purchased: Besides the NYX makeup remover, Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar. I found some on clearance at Ulta for half price and have been using it at night.
Last skincare product finished – Philosophy Purity cleanser
Would I repurchase? Already did!
Last skincare purchase – Sunday Riley UFO oil
Your skin tone/coloring: Medium Dark with yellow undertones
Last skincare product you finished? La Roche Posay Toleraine Fluid
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? I discovered it last year when I was battling a bout of dehydrated and damaged skin. It was basically magic for my skin. My skin is oily and sensitive and this fluid is light, non-greasy and moisturizing, so its a pretty perfect match. I’ve been repurchasing it ever since then!
Last skincare product you purchased? Olay Regenerist Sculpting Serum. I’m not that fond of the fragrance but I like the serum. I use it at night after I take all my makeup off and my skin does feel more supple.
Your skin tone/coloring: NC15 with some redness/sensitivity
Last skincare product you finished? Origins Original Skin Renewal Serum with Willowherb
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? Yes, and I have
Last skincare product you purchased? The repurchase of the Origins Serum was the last, but I think the one before it was the FAB Ultra Repair Cream, but that was also a repurchase.
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair, cool
Last skincare product you finished? probably La Roche Posay facial sunscreen
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? You bet I have
Last skincare product you purchased? Avene eye cream (can’t recall the name; very small tube but at least that is reflected in a somewhat smaller price tag too)
Your skin tone/coloring: fair redhead
Last skincare product you finished? Paula’s Choice BHA liquid exfoliant
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? Perhaps in the future, I liked it but it didn’t knock my socks off
Last skincare product you purchased? Honeymania body butter + Pixi Glow Tonic
Lt-med foolish. Prob true. I typed COOLISH. Mufe R370 in water blend was close today. Trying to lose the eagle with my usuals, 2nd to tan. Prob need something for my reunion. Suggest you google the ingredients and read the S reviews on that one. One of the ingredients get’s a Paula’s ‘poor’ and a consumer reviewer states that is a known immune disrupter. Can’t remember bec I had a fake ID theft attempt today on my iPad. Yeah, read that right. So far, no harm, no foul. So CRS.
Finishing Paula resist bha today. Def repurchase, bec it’s the only one that isn’t oily. Eking out the remainder of the long name TM, which is HG for me. Maybe it isn’t even eagle. That will be a repurchase as well. Maybe my only true HGs.
Purchase: CosRx good morning low pH cleanser. Didn’t like first wash much, but liking it well now. AHA/BHA toner. No etoh, but not as well reviewed as the Mizon product. Innisfree Jeju mask: really good at drawing oil. Cosrx hydrocolloid patch: not as good as expected at drawing. Galactomyces: just cracked. Moving slowly. Mizon snail recovery gel/cream. Yeah, it is all that. Couple of others not yet underway. And yes, there looks to be substantial savings with these easily sourced on Amazon AB products over Paula. The HGs will stay, and some others may be swapped out.
Joyce: I don’t much like pink cap, either, but blue cap is a winner.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair, neutral
Last skincare product you finished? Angels on Bare Skin from Lush
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? Repurchased yesterday! Been using in conjunction with Dark Angels from Lush for a year and a half now and it’s worked wonders for me… any time I try to change it up my skin gets very, very angry with me
Last skincare product you purchased? Brazened Honey fresh face mask from Lush (technically didn’t purchase it because I got it for free!)
Skin tone: Fair with cool undertones.
Last face care product I used up was Kiehl’s wrinkle reducing eye cream and I have already purchased a new one.
Last skin care product I purchased was a Shiseido mini kit to use for traveling that has a cleanser, toner, eye cream and daily moisturizer. I have just started using it so haven’t formed an opinion yet.
Fair NC20 oily skin
Last skincare product finished: Garnier Micellar Water
Would you repurchase it: I tried the pink last time. Now have the blue. I think I prefer it to the pink. The pink is ok but I prefer the blue. Decent makeup remover.
Last skincare product purchased: Roc Retinol Correction Deep Wrinkle Serum
You are so right on pink cap versus blue. Blue is a biphase, like the Lancôme or neutrogena clone. It does take it off. And most T readers are likely to have on m/u that might not be responsive to pink cap. Paula’s beautypedia reviews rank pink more highly than blue. For efficacy, blue does a significantltly better job. Prob you, like I did, got both in an Ulta sale to compare. Ulta is good like that. Sticking with blue cap. No reaction provoking ingredients. It works. Took >2 years to find a remover, given my skin peculiarities. It may not be HG, but it is here to stay.
I actually use both. I don’t wash my face at night anymore, I use an oil to smoosh my makeup around, use one of the Ulta oversized cotton pads to remove using the blue, then another pad to remove using the pink. When I’m done my skin is clean but I can feel a light layer of hydration from the oil. I think I finally found my HG makeup removal process. If I’m feeling really lazy in the morning, I’ll just use the pink again, as a quick face “wash” with a cotton pad, but I generally wash my face with a super-mild cleanser to prep for skincare and makeup.
Your skin tone/coloring: skin type is dry cheeks, normal t zone, sensitive/acne prone all over
Last skincare product you finished? Paula’s Choice CALM Redness Relief SPF 30 Moisturizer for Normal-Dry Skin
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? I would, it’s great and doesn’t sting if I apply it in the eye area, but $30 IS steep for a moisturizer.
Last skincare product you purchased? Neutrogena Oil-free Moisture with SPF 35. It’s like $11. When I have extra money I might go back to the PC one but obviously it isn’t realistically three times as good as the Neutrogena.
Once you know the vagaries and prejudices/opinions/driving forces behind the PC belief system, you can use the ingredient dictionary and beautypedia reviews easily. (E.g. They will knock the $&$@$) out of anything with fragrance. Or alcohol. If your skin does not have a problem with those ingredients, go for it.). Paula is likely to be good and effective, and until I started loading up, I did not recognize how pricey it could get. Now, I’m checking AB products for replacement possibility. If you can’t get an ingredient list though Paula for side by side comparison, use cosdna. Cosdna rates all ingredients in a formula for irritancy and acne provocation. Just remember that Korean (cosdna is a Korean site with English and other language availability) and American ingredients lists do not follow the same ‘laws,’ so the order may be switched around, giving false impressions to US readers. Many American AB bloggers have discussed this. All Hail the Less Expensive Alternative. Prob will look for a cheaper Vit C, as hers does not impress me enough to use it religiously.
They really do add up. I’ve found their facial cleansers to be my best deal out there because they work well and last me about a full year (I only wash my face once daily), but their moisturizers are expensive for the size, and if you start incorporating boosters and toners, you are easily looking at $100 for maybe 3-6 months worth of product. They do make good stuff, but I don’t want a six product skin routine where each component costs $29.00!
Your skin tone/coloring:
– light medium
Last skincare product you finished?
– Mary Kay Time Wise
Would you repurchase it (or have you)?
– Yes and yes
Last skincare product you purchased?
– Mary Kay Time Wise
Skin tone: fair, porcelain
Last skincare product finished: Aveeno’s gentle scrub for sensitive skin (in the green tube). Great product.
Would I repurchase? Yes, I have already.
Last Skincare product Purchased: QV Daily moisturiser, with SPF 30. Works really well – non greasy, leave it for a couple of minutes to soak in and then you can apply your foundation without any hassles.
Your skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; oily to combo with oily T-zone; hormonal acne flare-ups; aging skin.
Last skincare product you finished? A .26 oz tube of Juice Beauty Stem Cell Moisturizer. I’ve been trying to use up all my sample and little tubes from subscription boxes.
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? No. It was OK, but I wasn’t in love with it.
Last skincare product you purchased? NuSkin Moisture Restore Day Protective Lotion SPF 15, but after using it for 5 years or so, it doesn’t seem to be working as well on me. I’m looking for a new, preferably cruelty free, line. I’ll probably try Paula’s Choice.
Your skin tone/coloring: NW15 – Neutral/Cool
Last skincare product you finished? Deluxe Sample of a Jack Black glycolic scrub.
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? No, I don’t think so. It didn’t really do much for my skin.
Last skincare product you purchased? Clinique Moisturizing Gel 1.7oz
Skin tone/coloring: Fair with neutral undertones
Last skincare product you finished?: Boots Botanics hot cloth cleansing balm.
Would you or have you repurchased?: Yes. I’ve gone through six or seven of these in the past three or so years. It’s my go-to cleansing balm because it’s so inexpensive, easy to get (Target), and works really well. I have seen a couple YouTubers review it negatively, but I don’t get why. When I use it and remove it with a wet washcloth, literally zero traces of makeup are left behind.
Last skincare product you purchased?: The Caudalie Favorites set from Sephora. My skin gets along well with all the products I’ve tried from the line.
Your skintone/coloring: Medium w/ olive undertones MAC NC37-40, deep brunette, teal-green eyes w/ gold flecks.
Last skincare product you finished: Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel Cream and Retinol Anti-Wrinkle Facial Serum.
Would you buy again: Yep. I had backups ready for BOTH!
Last skincare product you bought: Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster.
Your skin tone/coloring: light and warm
Last skincare product you finished? I finished my Nuxe micellar water last night!
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? Probably not, it wasn’t bad, but also not among the best micellar waters I’ve tried.
Last skincare product you purchased? The dr Brandt vitamin C serum since it’s on sale 50% off at Ulta during the 21 days of beauty event. I’m supposed to receive it yesterday!
Your skin tone/coloring: light to medium warm
Last skincare product you finished? An Avène cream for atopic skin
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? Haven’t yet but I might
Last skincare product you purchased? Paula’s Choice 10% Niacinimade Booster. Not a fan.
Skin tone/coloring: Light to medium, not strong yellow undertones
Last skincare product finished: MAC Mineralize Timecheck Lotion as moisturizer
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? Yes.
Last skincare product you purchased? Clinique spf 50 body sunscreen as face sunscreen ( they are identical in ingredients )
Skintone: Light, peachy skin, brown hair, brown eyes
Last skincare product I finished: Paula’s Choice 1% BHA
Would you repurchase it? I chose a different type (COSRX BHA)
Last skincare product I purchased: Innisfree No sebum mineral sunscreen (Korean skincare rocks!)
I got the Cosrx, too, but will def continue with the PC resist BHA. Can’t get enough acids. I’m thinking about the Innisfree Jeju seawater stuff…and maybe Korean Vit C. The bloggers are all over Ost. Idk if it’s Asian. If someone bombed Paula, I could def make a routine from Cosrx, Mizon, and Innisfree. Just wish they were available in brick and mortar, rather than online. Recently found a $30 difference in price between Amazon and eBay on Mizon seaweed jelly scrub, so be careful.
Your skin tone/coloring: Deep/Dark NW50
Last skincare product you finished? Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Drink Of H2O Hydrating Boost
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? Absolutely! It’s the perfect moisturizer to apply to the skin after doing a sheet mask.
Last skincare product you purchased? Tarte Ready Set Glow! Skincare Kit, Philosophy Exfoliating Facial Wash, and Mario Badescu Acne Facial Cleanser.
Your skin tone/coloring: VERY fair, neutral tone, medium brown and medium red hair, dark brown eyebrows, dark green eyes.
Last skincare product you finished? Burt’s Bees Sensitive Skin wipes; love these, great deal for $5, doesn’t break me out, takes majority of make up off, and has the plastic closure instead of just the sticky strip.
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? I have repurchased this several times and will continue to.
Last skincare product you purchased? Dr. Jart Dermask Water Jet Soothing Hydra Solution (sheet mask), haven’t used this yet; and IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness (make up and skin care in 1 product), I will be returning this, covers the redness and the formula melts into the skin beautifully, but it is WAY too dark. Otherwise it’d be a winner.
Your skin tone/coloring: dark/cocoa
Last skincare product you finished? Caudalie Vinoperfect serum and moisturizer, Aveeno face scrub, and black African soap (all around the same time)
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? Not the Caudalie because it’s too expensive for me now but I would if it were more affordable. I am going to buy the aveeno this weekend and the African soap.
Last skincare product you purchased? Josie Maran argan affinity oil, it’s my holy grail of my skin care regimen
Skin tone, light medium, yellow to neutral with olive in there lightly. Lol mixed bag!
Last product I finished, Serozinc mist my La Roche, already have 2 backups and this was my second bottle.
Last purchased, Niod superoxide mist. And writing this I realise face lists are one of my favourite things. P.s superoxide is great!! XxX
Your skin tone/coloring: light to medium-light, yellow/gold
Last skincare product you finished? Paula’s Choice CALM Redness Relief Moisturizer for Normal to Oily Skin
Would you repurchase it (or have you)? I would potentially repurchase (and I have in the past), but for now I’m experimenting with combining CALM Redness Relief Repairing Serum with a different (also PC) moisturizer
Last skincare product you purchased? PC Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment
