Best Shimmery Lipstick Formula

What's the Shimmery Lipstick Formula that you've tried?

That’s tough! For something really shimmery, I think Urban Decay’s pearly Creams and Metallized finish are pretty good (some could be more opaque), but they are comfortable and tend not to emphasize the texture of the lips. For a more refined shimmer, Estee Lauder Hi-Lustres, Shiseido Rouge Rouge, Guerlain Rouge G.

Estee Lauder and Elizabeth Arden make some refined shimmers I love for their balmy feel and long lasting performance (gorgeous colors toos).
A good budget choice is Maybelline’s Color Sensational line, quite balmy but not as long lasting as EL and EA.

Catrice Supreme Fusion lipcolours are a hidden gem in my opinion! The more muted natural shades are my go-to’s for every day. Shine, comfort, color, quite some staying Power.

To my own surprise (since I’m not wild about frosted lipsticks), I absolutely love MAC’s frosted lipstick in New York Apple. It doesn’t look all that frosted to me and the colour is just so beautiful! I think I’ve got 2 of them “on the go” just now. And that’s probably the only frosted lipstick I own (unless you count UD’s Jilted in its original formula…that has a strange sort of duochrome reflective-ness).

UD Vice formula for the win! I have and love: Wildfire, Cruel Amulet and Plague, also from immediately before the official change: Firebird, Alice and Time. Every single one is very comfortable, lasts well and doesn’t dry out my lips like shimmers and frosts from days of yore!
Beyond that, I only have a few others to my name that I would call very good: TF L&B Derek and Guerlain Air Kiss.

UD Vice’s shimmers work pretty well for me. For high shine — I’ve swatched Estee Lauder’s high lustre line and like, and have a couple on my wish list.

Not a fan of shimmery lips, so the only shimmer lipsticks I own were gifts or part of sets (the first UD Vice sample set, the Sephora birthday gift in NARS Rikugien). I’ve commented on how pretty some shimmer lipsticks are, and have even been tempted, but I’ve never liked one on me.

I agree with you on the UD lipsticks. Their metallicized finish is absolutely gorgeous and unbelievably comfortable on the lips.
I recently bought some MAC lipsticks in the “frost” finish. I really liked the rose gold one from the Star Trek collection, so I decided to try a few from their regular line. I haven’t played with them much yet, so I can’t say if they’re good. Have anyone–or you, Christine–tried the MAC ones before? What do you think about them?
