I really just use pigments as eyeshadow, not as liner/for nailpolish etc. I am not good enough for stuff like that yet 😉 Most piggies I own I just use as hightlighter. Never bought a dark one so far but the shimmer and all in this one is so pretty. Just amazing.

Farida Avatar

I love LOVE pigments. I usually use pigments on top of same or similar colour eyeshadows, especially gliterry ones to make the colour stand out more. THX!

Lolly Avatar

I love to use pigments to create a smoky look and make the eye really pop with colour, when its a light or golden colour I use it EVERYWHERE, shoulders, cheekbones – makes a good highlighter and sp multifunctional. Love em – I tend to be messy when applying though so always have to clean up after.

Terry Avatar

I like to use pigments as eyeshadows or as highlighters (I’m thinking of MAC Vanilla or Your Ladyship). When I do a make-up for the day, I don’t like using them with wet brush/applicators but when I do a make-up for going out at night, using them with a wet brush brings out all the richness and complexity of their colours.

cass Avatar

Well, I don’t own any MAC pigments, I’ve always wanted to…but I’ve never known what to do with them! I’d prob use this as an eye shadow…or..OR, mix it with some clear nail polish to make a fierce dark color just in time for fall. :]

Olivia Avatar

I like to use them on their own with just a little bit of eyeliner during the day or mix them up with other greens, browns, or purple shades for a daring evening look.

Arduinna4 Avatar

I use them most of the times wet and on the eyes. Of course after Dustin Hunter’s series about pigments i’m gonna experiment in other areas too!Already the Rose pigment looks great on the cheeks!

Desirée Avatar

I like to use them with a mixing medium or just dap them on my eyelid with primer under it. It depends on the color but I also like to wear them as highlighter, bronzer, blush etc. 🙂

Amber Avatar

I love to use pigments for my eye looks, but also for lighter pigments as a highlight on my face or some pink colors as a blush. I also use them if I am going for a bolder lip look. They are so versatile! For this particular color, I would use it as a crease color, outer V color, or all over lid color for a smokey eye look.

Sarah Avatar

How can I be the first person to comment on this post? So weird…I must have gotten the link in my feed as soon as you posted!

Anyway, I like to wear pigments as eyeshadow, and to wet them and use as eyeliner.

Thanks for the giveaway…this is an awesome shade of pigment!

Dana Avatar

I usually use them for eye shadows and liners. Sometimes I’ll use them as a highlight, or mix a little with my moisturizer or foundation to make my own luminizer

Tiffany Santiago Avatar

I love to use them as eyeshadow, I pack on the color with a slightly wet brush. I’ve mixed Melon pigment with clear lipglass and worn it as a lipgloss alot too.

Tina Avatar

I like experimenting with my pigments and use them all over – eyes, lips face. Some make a great highlight (Melon/Vanilla/Naked ♥), some are gorgeous as an all over lid color (Lovely Lily ♥), some are just fantastic when dabbed onto your lips (too many to mnetion).

Elena Avatar

I like to use my pigments for everything basically, if i am going to use them on my lids i’ll use them wet, i also like to use the light ones as a higlight for my face and in the center of my lips and i mix the deep ones with my glosses to add some pigmentation

Maja Avatar

I usually use pigments as eyeshadows, but I also love using Vanilla as a highlighter and I sometimes add it to clear lipgloss for a bit of sheen.

Yulivee Avatar

I usually like to just use them as eyeshadow or to set my eyeliner. But sometimes I put them in the middle of my lip to plump it (mostly rose pigment).

Lidia Avatar

i don,t have any thats why I would love to have one but this one I would use as a shadow to do like a smokey eye and I would also mix it with a clear gloss to get that purple color.

Madison Avatar

I either like to use them dry as a highlighter depending on the color/finish otherwise I generally like to use them wet/dry as eyeshadows! =]

Bonnie Avatar

I’ve always just used them as eye shadows, or lightly dusted over the top of lipstick… but since watching Dusty’s last video you posted here, I’m wanting to try using them on my nails as well!

Leslie Avatar

what a GORGEOUS color! Depends on the color… on the lid, as a highlight, crease, mixed with some sort of ‘wet medium’ for a foiled look or as a wetliner.

Jessica Avatar

Pigments are so versatile, I like to use them for almost anything!
Obviously for eye color, I also like to mix them with a Vaseline base to make lipcolor, or with clear nail polish for a nail color. I also experiment and mix pigments to make custom colors. (Obviously taking a bit out of the jar and not messing up the entire jar!)
Bloodline is so gorgeous, too bad it’s limited!

Jessica Allison Avatar

I use pigments mostly on the eyes as shadow or w/ mixing medium, but I’m also fond of mixing them in with clear lipgloss (or lip tar!) It’s a great way to come up w/ interesting shades without spending extra money on a crazy shade that I’m probably only going to wear a few times!

Carrie Avatar

I luv pigments! I use them as is on the eyes as shadows (eyelid, crease, highlight). I use a mixing medium to create eyeliners (top & bottom). I use a mixing medium to create mascaras. I use them on cheeks as is or mix them w/a moisturizer to create a cream blush. I use them on the lips as is over lip balm or I use a mixing medium to create a tinted lip conditioner or shiny lip gloss.

kelly alice. Avatar

i love to use it on my eyes, usually on the crease over a paint pot. occasionally i add a dab in the center of my bottom lip for a little bit of depth and shimmer!

Kristen Avatar

I’m boring I just use them for eyeshadow, I would love to have to patience to trying using them for something on my nails, I think that would look cool with any of the pigments I have. 🙂

veneta Avatar

This pigment looks soo beautiful!
I prefer to put them on wet, for a dramatic look. I love how the colour become more intense!!

Greetings from Germany! =)

Katie Avatar

I got old gold a while back and it is my summer colour. I like to use it when I’m going for a golden beachy look with Nars Luster blush and a coral gloss. Silver dusk also looks good on the inner corner of your eye

Cam Avatar

I love pigments! I use them mostly as dry shadows but add them to lip balms, nail polishes, and to cream bases to use as blush if the color is appropriate!

Reza in StL Avatar

I love pigments, since I prefer loose eyeshadwos anyway, as long as they’re pigments or highly pigmented. I often apply wet as eyeliner or use the super-concentrated color in my crease. Also, I follow on Twitter as @Rezarific

Krystol Avatar

I absolutely LOVE pigments because they seem to be neverending and can be used for so many different functions. I use mine for eyeshadow, blush, lip color and sometimes I even use them on my brows. With Halloween coming up I will be doing some different looks with my makeup just because it is so much fun! I like to use the pigments wet or and dry it just depends on what kind of finish I want to have.

sarah Bikhari Avatar

I use my loose eyeshadows or pigments with my coastal scents large chiesl eyeshadow brush which just picks the perfect amount and dab it gently over a eyeshadow base or cream eyeshadow.

Jasmine Avatar

I usually use them dry (smash them with the brush first like I saw on a tutorial), over a base such as too faced shadow insurance, but after reading the comments, I think I’ll try them wet with Fix + sometimes.

Mina Avatar

I like to use pigments wet (with water or Fix+) and pat them onto the eye for a foiled effect. Once they dry they are extremely easy to blend too 🙂

nicala7 Avatar

ive mixed pigments with clear lipgloss before, i like using unique colors on my lips, my favorite to do that with is melon! other than that i usually use eyedrops as a kind of mixing medium and apply them wet or use them over a creamy base so they stick better.

Stephanie Avatar

I love using them wet with fix+ on the eye for big color pops! I also use them as lip glosses by combining them with the mac pro clear gloss.

Liat Avatar

I usually use them as eyeshadow (mostly wet), sometime on the lips for a bit of a shine and once I mixed a pigment with a clear nail polish but I didn’t like the way it turned up so I threw it away…

Amanda Weston Avatar

I dampen my eyeshadow brush with water and use the pigments as shadows or liners, or a little glitz over boring old black or brown liner. I have also used a bit of pigment in hair serums before blow drying to give my hair an extra shine.

Jennifer Avatar

I’m pretty boring – only as eyeshadows at this point! Occasionally I might rim my eyes with a darker-toned one to set my gel or pencil eyeliner. I should start experimenting soon 🙂

Melissa (divinem) Avatar

I love the intensity dark pigments bring to the eye, especially the outer V or crease. The 219 is perfect for this given my limited lid space. I apply lighter pigments over a MAC paint pot using the patting technique to avoid fallout and blend well with a 217 brush after I’ve achieved the look I’m going for. Would love to add Bloodline to my collection. 🙂

Beryl Avatar

I will use this pigment a lot as a crease color with any lid combination! I think it’s a pretty fool proof crease color. I can do brown/purpley taupe on the lid and Bloodline on the crease.

Nina Avatar

i use them as eyeshadow mainly- but the frosty light ones as highlighter on cheeks sometimes
never tried it as lipgloss or nail polish, could be interesting with bloodline- love dark short nails…

Leti Avatar

I like using pigments as eye shadows and as highlighters. I’d like to start using them for other purposes as well, but I guess I’m not too adventurous 😉

Linnea Avatar

I love using my pigments as eyeshadow when I want to go dramatic(I don’t have any light pigments). Love using it in the crease, or wet as a liner. 🙂

Kajsa/Monticka Avatar

I’d probably use it together with some really dark toned purple and the lid and Bloodline in the crease and lower lash line and then darken it up with a matte black shadow.
And mix with clear lipgloss to get an awesomely cool lip color for Halloween!

RT’ed, nickname: Monticka

Susie Avatar

I would apply the pigment with a shader brush over cream bases or use a dampped brush (with fix+) to apply the pigment to give the eye more depth.

Christelle Avatar

I like using pigments as an eyeshadow (dry or wet). And somethimes I like using pigments (like Tan) as a highlight on my cheeks.

But now that you showed us links to an amazing MUA that described all sort of ways to use pigments, I’ll try it on nails, on hair, mixed with body lotion, with shea butter … Once again, I’m going to spend time and money in make up ! ‘Sight’ lol

Lize Avatar

Well I like to use my pigments as eyeshadow, but what I also like them for is for nailpolish! Just mix them up with a clear polish or even a coloured (sheer) nailpolish and you can create gorgeous colors that way 😀

Dana Avatar

I like to use my pigments in all sorts of different ways! Mixing with others is a great way to achieve a desired yet customized shade of color. I love to use various shades as contour for the cheeks, or even highlight for under the brow, cupids bow, cheeks, or inner corners of the eyes. Fix + is a great way to use them as well! Bloodline is seriously an amazing color! I would be so grateful to own it. I can already think of a ton of different ways to use it for this fall! 🙂

Kristyn Raze Avatar

This would look beautiful with an orangey gold eyeshadow and the bloodline pigment in the crease. Or it would be gorgeous as an eyeliner! I love purples!

Jessica Avatar

I like to use them for a wash of color (dry and/or wet) and sometimes on the lips. But after seeing Dustyohunter I want to use them as temp hair color!

Christina Medina Avatar

I love how multi-purpose pigments are. I have tried using my pigments with clear nail polish, as eyeliner, eyeshadow, and lip color. I

Alison Avatar

Usually I apply pigments wet as eye shadows. But after watching Dustin Hunter’s pigment youtube videos, I can’t wait to try using them for other things. I really liked his tips for using them on your nails!

Molly Avatar

I’ve never owned a pigment, but I imagine I would use it either wet as an eyeshadow or a highlight (depending on the color, of course) or maybe add it to a clear nailpolish to make a custom color 🙂 also if it is a very light or skin-tone color, I could use a light dust of it all over my face to give me a nice glow 😀

LH Avatar

I like to use pigments mainly for eyeshadow but occasionally I will use them as highlights or to add color to the cheeks. It all depends on the pigment color.

KellyK. Avatar

i have used pigmants as eye shadow and also for a little cheek high lighter. i havent perfected my technique, but i use them when im looking to add a little fun to my fotd.

Krystina Davidson Avatar

I would wear it with a smokey purple. In the outer crease and on the lower lash line. You TOTALLY want to give me this pigment!!!! 🙂

Berna Avatar

I use Pigments as Eyeshadows and most of the time I apply them wet over UDPP, sometimes I just dust them about a creamy basy to have a less “loud” effect. 🙂

Step Avatar

I like using the lighter ones for highlighting cheekbones (dry) or inner corner highlight (wet) and the red/pink ones for cheeks and lips. When in doubt though, I use them wet as eyeshadow/liner.

SHERRY Avatar

I love to use pigments as eye shadow but also love to use them under other eye shadows to intensify the color- a trick I learned from watching Temptalia tutorials of course. Sherry

Joanie Avatar

I love pigments on eyes dry or wet. Also mixed with gloss on lips. My pigments can also be used on cheeks depending on color of course as blush or highlight. I’ve not yet created a nailpolish but that’s next! :). I love pigments!

Heli Avatar

I use pigments as eyeshadow and eyeliner. For eyeshadows I need a creamy base like Paint Pot and for eyeliner I mix the pigments with water or Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy.

Manja Avatar

I usually use pigments dry and sometimes also went, if I want the color to pop. I have been thinking of mixing some of my pigments into nailpolish but I haven’t done tried that out yet 🙂

Lisa Avatar

I’ve always used pigments as eyeshadows and highlights but after seeing DustyOHunter’s 4 segments on pigments I’m definitely going to try some new things especially using pigments as nail polish.

Ashley D. Avatar

I love using pigments on the crease or make them into an eyeshadow by mixing rubbing alcohol and some pigment into an empty tin, I could also make a dark lipstick or blush in a similar way.

Hope Avatar

I Love them for everything.. even some with highlighting..

But Lately, i have been using pigments that have a metallic finish like Blue Brown, using Fix+ and an angled eyeliner brush to apply it as a cat liner with nothing else on my eye. So fun!

Ann Avatar

I guess this is boring, but I basically just like to use pigments as eyeshadows! However, I sometimes use them for nails, and with some pigments (Vanilla) I use them for more things, like face highlighter or to mix with moisturizer.

Tina Marie Avatar

I love applying pigments wet all over the lid. Makes every color so vibrant! I also like to put a nice highlight color with a pink tone like Helium in the center of my lips or as a highlight to my cheeks to give me a nice glow.

Miss Nicole Avatar

How do I NOT use pigments? I love them for nail polish, I use them wet or dry or with cream bases, I use them with lip tar to make my own lip color, some of them I use for blush, and yeah I think I forgot a few… but I love them!

Holly Avatar

Love using them over MAC paint pots, also they look amazing when wet… you can use them on your lips with gloss over them, or you can wear them on your cheeks for a highlight or additional color.

Natalie Avatar

I love using pigments as eyeshadow, or layering them over liner to get that smokey/smudgy look very effortlessly! I also like to mix them into nail polish. You get some awesome colors!!! Thanks for the opportunity!

Addison Avatar

I love to use pigments as eyeshadow colors, or as nail polish color. This pigment would work really well for both of those things, it also would make a gorgeous liner!

Gina Avatar

Depending on the color i like to use them as an eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush, highlighter, lipstick/lipgloss, nailpolish…the posibilities are endless!!! and you can apply them wet for a totally different look!

Sharon M Avatar

I’ve actually never used pigments (yet) so I’ve been reading all the other comments to find out how everyone else uses them! For Bloodline I’d probably use it as a crease eyeshadow and also mix it with mixing medium to use as a liner — it would set off my gray-blue eyes nicely. 🙂

KaylaK Avatar

I like to use pigments for my eyes mostly. But I also use it for my lips to mix up like a gloss, and it makes for some killer cheek hightlighters!

dani@callitbeauty Avatar

i’m ashamed to say i’ve never used pigments but i have a reason! i’m clumsy as all heck and i’ve already ruined my bedroom carpet with makeup stains. that being said, i do want to add some pigments to my collection and with this particular one, i’d wear it on the crease and outer v.

Mary N. Avatar

I love using pigments when they are wet, as an eyeliner. The results are usually amazing, especially when using unique colors you just can’t find in the common eyeliners.

Shannon Avatar

This piggie’s color is EXACTLY my type. I’d wear it on the outer corner to create a plummy purpley smokey eye for sure, or use as a liner with Pixie Epoxy (that stuff is amazing!).

tpzhearts Avatar

I like to use them alone for a not-too-intense color on my eyes. Or wet for a more intense look. For lighter colors sometimes I use a foptic to highlight my face/eyes. I also RTed!

Katt Avatar

I use them every way imaginable! Over a cream base on my eyes, mixed with clear gloss or just dabbed over lipstick for my lips, mixed into nail polish… only imagination sets limits for pigments! Love ’em!

Neeshie Avatar

I usually use pigments as eyeshadows, or liner. I have mixed one into a gloss and have worn pink mauve as a blush – but mainl its just on the eyes

Thincspot Avatar

I think pigments are great to mix with other colors (like lipglosses and other eyeshadows). They also make such great toppers for eyeliners by changing the dimension and color effect.

daniela Avatar

I just use them as eyeshadow and I also use pigments to create new shades of nail laquers

btw y really like your blog and all the effort you pur into it, so thanks

Grace Seng Avatar

I usually like to use them as eyeshadows but sometimes I use them to customize my own lipgloss, nail polish, and occasionally as a cheek highlight color (for colors like vanilla and melon). =]

Carrie Ann Avatar

So far, I’ve only used pigments as eyeshadow. I usually just put one pretty color all over the lid, but I know you can also use them as blush or mix them into your nail polish.

Anne Avatar

I’ve been dying to this pigment to get the sultry look from Halle Berry’s Vogue cover Sept. 2010 ( I wasn’t impressed with Revlon’s Perle eyeshadow in Violet Starlet- which is what the magazine says was used) I’m thinking maybe Bloodline over MAC’s Batblack Cream Colour Base might give me the look I’m going for.

kasiaj85 Avatar

for an everyday makeup I usually use pigments dry. But for a night out I like to spray some thermal water on the brush and apply pigments wet! the staying power is amazing then.
I also like to experiment a bit 😉 I already tried adding Tan, Rose, Brash&Bold and Ruby Red to a clear lipgloss … Lately I also added Sweet Sienna to a clear nail polish, unfortunately the pigment sort of settles down at the bottom of the bottle and it’s hard to mix. but the color is oooh so beautiful… I also used Vanilla as a highliter, but that’s nothing new 😉

Christy Ordonez Avatar

I. Love. Pigment. In. Every. Way. Eye shadows, as lip colours, high on the cheek bone, blended with mixing medium to intensify. I would cover my face in a thin layer if it didn’t bring stares and guffaws.

Lovinlife4ever Avatar

I use my MAC pigments when I want a bold look since they are so pigmented. I use it as is and layer it over a sticky primer or cream base.

Amanda Avatar

I like to use pigments packed over eye shadows or paint pots for more vibrant color, used wet as sparkly eye liners, or as a brow or cheek hilight for the lighter shades. It would depend on the pigment!

Kelly C. Avatar

I have only ever used them on my eyes, though after watching the PIgment series on Yourtube I’m curious to see how this would do as a nail polish!

Katie Avatar

I prefer to layer them with similar shades of eyeshadow, or just on their own wet. I haven’t tried them as an eyeliner, cause I’m not very good with regular eyeliner, so i doubt i’d be good at using it ^^;

Michelle Pattison Avatar

My favorite way to wear pigments is as an all over eyeshadow wash. I have very deepset eyes so It’s much easier to do an all over wash instead of putting a ton of layering and blending of eyeshadow when no one is going to be able to see it.

Salina Avatar

I love using pigments with water based mixing medium all over the lid, and I make my own lip gloss with them, too! I haven’t tried nail polish yet, but I’m DYING to! 😀

LU Avatar

Well I haven’t been too daring with pigments, I normally use them as eyeshadows or bases! I either use water or fix+, but I always use them over UDPP. I’ve never tried them alone to see if they crease on my oily lids or not.

Hanna Avatar

I wear them as eye shadows, highlighters and in clear nail polish, to make a nice colour. I haven’t try them in lipgloss yet – guess i don’t have one that would work.

Aneta Avatar

I like to use my pigments (or dusts from Barry M) with my rose water or fix plus sprayed brush. So technically wet i believe. I use them as shadows but when i had some vanilla i used it a bit over the lipgloss – and loved it!

Lauren Avatar

i love using pigments as eyeshadow, both dry and wet. although i feel like bloodline would make a beautiful nailpolish so if i get it then i will probably try using it for that:)

Cheyenne Avatar

From what I’ve seen about pigments it’s always best to use them wet. For this color though it’s really really dark. I dunno if I’m daring enough to use it wet!! ^_^

Ren Avatar

I’ll mix them with a little moisturizer and use them as a cheek color sometimes. Of course, as shadows. Occasionally as liners. I tried using one with a clear gloss once, but it felt too weird. XP Never tried it with clear nail polish, but I’d like to!

Kat Avatar

On my nails! And as accents in eye makeup. And on the lips, in body lotion, in my hair… (though probably this one wouldn’t be too good in a lotion. Hm.). Anywhere! 🙂

Giselle Avatar

i like to use pigments for so many things, i normally use it as eyeshadow but i use it too for lips (like pigmentation with some gloss!!) 🙂

Rita Avatar

I have not used them a lot, but I just bought 3 more from FF, so I’m definitely going to try different days to wear them, wash all over lid, with e/s, pigments only.

Rita Avatar

Meant WAYS…
Christine, can you do something with the iPhone layout for this box I’m writing in? it’s so tiny, and you can’t read the text you have written.

Krissy Avatar

Love using pigments as e/s or liner, don’t have a huge collection but what I do have is well loved. I haven’t attempted to try to use them as lippies of nail polish but maybe someday!

Lily Avatar

I would use it basically for everything!

Clear nailpolish + bloodline= really cool nail colour
water + bloodline = use it as a upper lash line-liner with MAC 209
Bloodline dry with the MAC 239

I LURVE PIGMENTS.

Nora Avatar

I usually use pigments as a light wash of color, simple to use eyeshadow. I don’t get into more complexity than that. That’s why I like pigments – so smooth and blendable!

Meagn Avatar

I use pigments as many ways as their are colors in the rainbow. Usually I will use them foiled or dry as eyeshadow, but i do mix certain colors with vasaline for a lip color,or dust it on as a blush shade if the color is appropriate 🙂

Amanda Avatar

I usually wet pigments and use them as an eyeshadow. But sometimes when I’m feeling adventerous I’ll mix them with some clear nail polish and make a gorgeous nail polish color or mix them with a little bit of clear gloss and have a cute lipgloss 🙂

rhiannon Avatar

I like to use pigments on my lips, dabbed on over a nude lipstick (hue being my favourite one to work with)
They make great colours and always get compliments
x

josephine ng Avatar

i just ventured out to pigments so i’m still getting the hang of it! i’ve used it wet and dry and i’m loving the versatility of it! definitely fix+ with a flat shader when used wet!

cathy Avatar

I love dusting pigments over my whole lid, or for darker colors, i love using them in the crease. They blend beautifully too, so I go ahead and blend a couple to get a totally new color!

Jaymie Avatar

I haven’t really played with pigments but I love they way they look and feel. I just got Mauvement from the Feline collection and love it!

Ann Avatar

I must admit that I’ve never used a pigment before. But, I’m in LOVE with this color. If I won, I’d have to do some research. I’m going to read through the comments to see what everyone else thinks. Do people like wearing pigment better than ‘pressed’ shadow?

Ceca Avatar

OMG this one is so pretty !!

I like to use pigments wet with MAC fix+ … Both as eyeliner and/or eyeshadow depending on the color of the pigment. Sometimes I use them on my nails with a nail polish or even on my lips by mixing them with lipglosses. Don’t think this one would work well on my lips though…

I love pigments so much because they have so many different uses.

Gretchen Avatar

It depends on the color of the pigment. I’d use all of them on my eye, but if it was a light and neutral color, I’d use it as a highlight on my cheekbones.

Alyssa Avatar

I normally use pigments as a lid color, or a crease color… So normally just as eyeshadows. They are absolutely gorgeous when wet! I’ve used them as nail polish a few times, too, and when I’m feeling outgoing, I get a bright color and a wet liner brush and use it as eyeliner.

Victoria Avatar

I love applying pigments over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy, which is an HG eye product for me. It prevents fall out, makes loose (and pressed) eyeshadow apply much more opaque and pigmented, and preserves the glitteryness of glittery eyeshadows. 🙂

Alexandra Avatar

I just use pigments like an eyeshadow. Sometimes I wet them to intensify the color and make them stick to the base. Bloodline looks gorgeous!

Kimber Y. Avatar

I love using pigments wet or lately, I’ve been using loose pigments over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. The epoxy reduces fallout and cranks up the pigment’s intensity!

Miss Silver Avatar

I like to mix them to get certain shades I like. I mixed a bright green with bright blue and ended up with a lovely teal shimmer eyeshadow! I also press them so that I can magnetise them and put it with the rest of my depotted eyeshadows.

Sometimes, I use it with a wet brush as eyeliner.

Also, I use pinks and reds with gloss to custom make a certain shade to go with certain looks.

Petra Avatar

I usually wear them dry (i take that into consideration when purchasing) and either pack them on, or just use them as a wash of colour. Depends on the colour and the look. I use them on the eyes, amybe for highlighting – but I prefer solid, pressed stuff for that. 🙂

Tara S Avatar

Guess I actually need to read what I was supposed to do in the comments!! Whoops sorry! I use them as eyeshadows (of course) I also like to put some in my lipgloss and nail polish!!

Kammi Avatar

I am a fan of Temptalia on Facebook. I shared the contest with over 200 friends on Facebook. I am a susbcriber of Temptalia blog via email. I am a subscriber of Temptalia blog via RSS. I would def wear MAC Bloodline Pigment for my eyelids. It’s hot!

Margaret Avatar

I love to use pigments in many ways: in clear nail polish or lip balm for a custom shade, as a eye liner, all over eye shadow and as a highlighting powder.

Phung Avatar

I like to use pigments (I bought my first pink opal one this week) like I use eyeshadows. I haven’t started using primer yet, but I may try the eyeshadow primer sometime.

grace Avatar

omgosh they do everything!
eyeshadow if dry, liner if wet.
nail polish and even additives to lipstick
this question reminds me of dusty hunter on youtube 🙂

goldie Avatar

I like to press them into a pan and pop them into my palette. Then I’m more likely to use them more often. After seeing Dustin’s pigments video, I would love to try it out as nailpolish!

Zoe Avatar

I only have 1 pigment (tan pigment by mac) and I usually use it as an eyeshadow but sometimes I’ll mix a little bit of it in with body lotion and rub it on my legs 🙂

Ricci Avatar

Hello! I left the first comment this morning! where is it??

I like to foil my pigments on my eyes & make them super shiny. I wear glasses so I only use one color at a time.
Great giveaway!

Deanna Avatar

I use my pigments for everything – eyeshadow, highlighters, blush, lipgloss (Rose pigment is amazing for this), butg I haven’t yet tried nail polish.

Afrohippychick Avatar

I often use pigments as a highlighter. I use them mostly wet as an eyeshadow. I have used them for both nail polish and on my lips with a clear or light lipgloss. I’ve also have used them for face makeup for Halloween.

O. Ali Khalid Avatar

I use the pigments as little surprise gifts for my wife, like Ill buy her a jacket and in the pockets put a pigment bottle in the shade i saw her lusting after at the macys mac counter.

Jennifer Avatar

I use pigments as eyeshadow mainly. If the colours are more pink or redish, I’ll dust some on my cheeks and add a bit to clear lipgloss for my lips.

Janice Avatar

I use them all differently depending on color (I use naked the most, as a lid wash, cheekbone highlighter, and tinted moisturizer-luminizer). For this one however, I will probably use it to line my eyes!

Nadia Avatar

Since I mainly prefer to use matte colours in my crease, I almost always use pigments on my lid. I usually like to apply a complementary base so it gives the pigment something to ‘stick’ to.

Kate Avatar

I love pigments because they are so versatile. I like to foil them on the lid, but also use them as highlights for my face. Melon pigment is especially gorgeous on top of the cheekbones.

Tifa Avatar

I usually like to use two different pigments to a look, maybe three sometimes. I usually only apply it dry as well since I tend to like more subdued looks.

Claire Avatar

I think with a color this dark, I would dab my brush into Fix + and then into the pigment to make it apply better, and then apply it into the crease for a really dramatic eye.

Kim Avatar

hi! please enter me in your contest!

i like to use pigments dry, over nyx jumbo eye pencils, so they have extra pop. i especially love changing up the base to pick up alternate tones in duochromes, which i love.

JASON Avatar

I love pigments, you can use in your entire face (eyes, lips, even in cheeks)the last one, its a experiment that i realiced in a runway makeup, and it looks just so diferent, luminizing-colorfull cheeks but not glittery or shimmery, its just exotic and different 🙂

Jenni Gutierrez Avatar

I like to wear pigments many ways:
Wet
Over a creme base
Over a shadow to give it some sparkle
And just alone.

It all depends on what look i’m trying to go for

Jaime Avatar

My favourite way to use them is on the lips. I’m always looking for a perfect red, or a perfect nude or a perfect oddball colour (like blue) and I find that mixing pigments with clear gloss is really the only way I can find EXACTLY the colour I’m looking for!

Daniela Avatar

I love to use them as shadows, dry or wet, and as highlighters if they are light colors, and even mixed with a clear gloss for a little shimmer!

thanks for the giveaways Christine!

Alexis Avatar

I like to use them as a lid color wet, I also love to brush the duochrome ones on top of nail polish thanks to DustinOhunter I found this works very well.

Natalie Avatar

I like to use pigments wet or dry as eyeshadows as well as dusted onto my cheeks for a highlight. Sometimes I even add them into clear nail polishes to make new nail colours!

virginia Avatar

For Me,Pigments Verry Versital.I Use them on the Eyelid and I apply them With either water Or Fix Plus. The same Technique Is Used For The Crease(Water or Fix Plus & Pigment).I find when a pigment is applied with fix Plus or water it brings out more of its true color and its Undertones. As Oppose to Just being applied dry. But One Of my Most Favorite ways of Using Pigments is by using them As Eyeliners. I Most Likely pair pigments With a Black Liner.I apply a winged out liner and right above I do the same winged out technique with the pigment.I love using Colorful Pigments Because it makes my eyes POP!

virginia Avatar

For Me I Love Using Pigments Because they Are so Versitale. I Like Wearing Them On My Eyelids/ Crease wet. I Find that using them wet brings Out More Of Its True Color And Undertones. The Way I wear Them More Often Is As An eyeliner.I Love the Way It Looks with A Black Eyeliner. I Apply a Winged Out Black liner then right above it goes the colored pigment(wet of course). I love how it makes my eyes POP!

Buttons_sb Avatar

I love to use pigments different ways! Dry patted on the eyelid over a base, wet foiled over the lid or brushed over the cheek as a blush/ highlight or contour depending on the colour! 🙂 x

Li Avatar

I use them for everything: Shadows over a paint pot, highlighters, wetted with Fix+ and used as a liner, in clear gloss for a lip gloss. Even put them in a pearly nail varnish although it came out a lil lumpy :-/ Pigments are the best though, I use them more than I use regular eyeshadows.

Leigh B Avatar

Hi Christine, first off let me say that I love your site and I have learned an immense amount of information from it! I love pigments. I like to use them with the mixing medium for my eyes and I would particularly like this color because I know it would bring out my green eyes. I also use pigments as a cheek high-lighter especially vanilla. I use them frequently on my lips too, just in the very middle of my bottom lip to make them look pouty. Sometimes I even mix it with my mascara if I’m feeling up to it. I have also used it under clear nailpolish……..you just have to make a nice paste first with mixing medium. Anyways, I would absolutely love to win this color! Thanks again for all of your makeup wisdom 🙂

Rachel C. Avatar

I love to wet my pigments with Fix+ and use them that way to brighten the colors. I also mix then into clear lipglosses to make my own custome colors!!

Sara Avatar

Hey doll! I loveee this color! I would use it wet for sure and as an eyeliner! That is my normal routine with pigments- eyeshadow and eyeliner use. With certain pigments like Vanilla, I will put in my hair sprays, face sprays, and sometimes body sprays for some added shine/shimmer! Good luck to everyone and best wishes!* ♥

Ani_BEE Avatar

I don’t have to many MAC Pigment in general but I use a huge number of MMU and Mica colourants for eyeshadow, blush, nail colours. Basic depending on the shade you can do most things with Pigments. They also last longer then formulated product if you practice safe product aka decant the product you want to use to keep the main pot more hygiene.

Lyndsay Avatar

I guess I’m quite borning when I use them… I mainly stick to using them as eyeshadows. Depending on the color, I have used them to highlight above my lip or even added a touch on top of my lipsticks to change the color a bit.

Danielle Avatar

Personally have never tried a mac pigment but would love to press it, add it to a clear gloss for a stunning fall shade, use it loose or try foiling! 🙂 Great giveawaythis pigment is stunning!!!

Alexandra Avatar

I’ve never tried or had a MAC pigment before, but I have had my eye on this one ever since you showed us the swatches!

I would definitley loveeeee to have this color and I would use it in the crease on my eyes. 🙂

Carolyn Avatar

Eyeshadows and nailpolish. That’s it really. Except, I do like adding a bit to my hair if it’s a dark shimmery one. It looks really cool in my black hair.

Deidre Avatar

I love pigments! I use them as eyeshadow, mix with clear gloss for a lippe. Pigments can be used as highlighers or as blush. You can also mix into clear nail polish and make your own custom color.

dulce bilog Avatar

I like using pigments as shadows wet or dry. Then depending on the color maybe mix it with a gloss! But the thing I love about pigments or loose shadows the most is I can mix two different colors and press them!!! That’s fun for me

Rachael W Avatar

I use them mostly as eyeshadows or eyeliners; depending on the color I’ll also use them as a cheek highlighter. I have tried them with gloss and didn’t care for the texture.

Araceli Avatar

I just started using pigments I have rose and blue brown I use them as eyeshadows. I think bloodline is really pretty color would love to use it as a liner I think it would be nice deep color.

Michelle Thao Avatar

I like darker colors on the lid so I’ll pat it all over the lid. Haven’t used any pigments for anything else but this color looks so beautiful that if I got it, I would try using it as a lip color with neutral look and even as a nail polish!

Sam Avatar

I’ve never used a pigment before! But if I were to use a pigment, I would add it to make a more shimmering appeal to the look. <3 Or use it for highlighting. ^^

Molly Avatar

i love using pigments for an array of things: eyeshadow, blush, lipgloss/stick, in my hair, and as nail polish. i would love to win this pigment! (:

Mirian Avatar

Depend. Sometimes, I use only a pigment on all my eyelid, but for give it differents tonalities, I put a cream base with colour, like a jumbo or a paintpot. Another times, in combination with other eyeshadows.
I have only one pigment, and it is very dark for use like blush or highlighter, but I’m wishing to make experiments with new pigments.

Shanna Avatar

Ah they’re so versatile, it totally depends on what I want to use them for. Often I’ll use them as a wash on the lid, but most of the pigments I have are shimmery/frosty and I haven’t been doing looks like that as much. SO. I’ll use a darker color in the crease, or as a liner, or a lighter color in my tear duct area. Sometimes I’ll mix a color with a tiny bit of lipgloss and use that (love doing that) orrr mix it up with some nail polish. Lately I’ve been trying to mix pigments with taupe polishes to try to dupe Chanels Paradoxal nail polish, cause I’m way too cheap to spend $30 on a nail polish. 😀

Diana P. Avatar

I love to use it as an e/s or a liner, especially in combination with Fix + or just normal water 🙂 depends on my mood I use it wet or dry

Amy C Avatar

Well, I haven’t used a pigment yet, but this one would be so pretty as an eyeliner. I love the idea of mixing with clear nail polish or lip gloss – sounds fun!

Christina Avatar

Depending on the color/texture, I use them either;
1) Alone and dry like an eyeshadow
2) Apply them on top of another eyeshadow
3) Wet with Fix+

Makayla Avatar

The way I use pigments is not in the eye but in my lip glosses, a
little sprinkle into my lipstick palete followed by stiring in a nude, light color lip gloss and I have a creative color all my own!

Aisha Lawal Avatar

I like to use my pigments as eyeshadows best because I can blend them easily with tons of other eye shadows or pigments. I can also use a medium to change texture or feel.

Brianne Avatar

I have to admit – despite all the various uses for pigments, I only ever use them as eyeshadow! hah! This is another one I’d love to have though, a beautiful color!

MalybooBarbee Avatar

I like to use them primarily as eyeshadow but Ive mixed some of the lighter ones in my foundation or moisturizer for a lil shimmer && in some of my glosses too!

Jenny Avatar

Pigments are always great on their own. I would use one pigment and blend that out above the crease and maybe create some depth with the same pigment by using the mac 217 to dense up the pigment 🙂

Alejandra Avatar

I absolutely adore pigments because they’re great for so many things. I have been using them as nail polish like crazy! They are also great for higlighting the cheekbones and as eyshadows when they are wet or dry. Bloodline pigment looks gorgeous and I am excited that youre giving this away.

Madii B Avatar

I love pigments! I wear them over base, or wet, or just blend them in to some other sort of eyeshadow! I haven’t learned, or even tried to use them for anything other than that, but they are certainly universal!

j0o626 Avatar

I love pigments because u can do so much with them. I love naked & vanila as highlights. but I like to use them wet gives a more intense color pay off

WithIt Avatar

I just bought my first pigment from the fab. feline line (mauvement). I love it! I’ve worn it almost every day since I got it. As a highlighter, layered on in the crease. Can’t wait to try other pigments. I was also coveting bloodline, but I decided to wait. So, I’d love to win it and give it a whirl! 🙂

Amy Avatar

I tend to press the pigments because it’s more easy to handle and I like the boldness of the pigments, often not found in regular eyeshadows.

Hannah Avatar

I like to use pigments as everything! eyecolor, eyeliner, blush, lip gloss, and nail polish. I think bloodline would look gorgeous as an outer corner color, or nail polish.

Beenish Avatar

I use pigments as eyeshadow. Im still learning how to do makeup so I dont yet use it in any other way. Plus I usually buy pigments thinking how nice they’ll look on the lid or in the crease so they serve the purpose I get them for:).

Gretchen Avatar

I use my pigments as eye-shadows, light shimmery pigments I like to “sprinkle” them on my body for extra shimmer, and I also sometimes use it as a highlighter!

Jazzy Avatar

I would put MAC Haux all over the lid, Bloodline in the crease and lower lashline with carbon in the outer V, and black liner on upper lid and water line. Use MAC Gleeful blush and MAC Fabulous Felines Artistocat lipstick w/o gloss.

Lakitha Goss Avatar

I would wear this pigment on the eyes. I would create a smokey evening eye look by using this pigment wet. It coordinate wonderfully with a color like Parfait Amour by MAC.

Brynn Avatar

I love to press my pigments into my MAC palette. That way I can use the beautiful colours, and it’s a little more convenient. I just lovee pigments!

Indah Avatar

I really like to use pigment as an eyeshadow mainly, other than that i also like to use it to highlight my face if they are light colors 🙂

Rachel Avatar

i like to use pigments mainly dry but sometimes if i want a ‘wet’ look ill wet them! sometimes if there was a pinky r red colour ill get a bit on my finger and dab it in the centre of my lips for a shimmery highlight effect.

MsG Avatar

I just started using pigments. I usually use them over paint pots as eyeshadow or use lighter pigments as a highlight. I have not yet tried using them wet!

Hannelore Avatar

I always use them with a slightly damp brush because I want to minimize the fallout, I wear lenses you see! If it’s a very sheer or light pigment, I can wear it as a highlight on my cheeks or on the middle part of my lips for some oomph! I dont mix it with foundation since I have oily skin and don’t want to look like a disco ball:)

Angel Avatar

I usually use pigments on the lids, but sometimes if the color is suitable, I mix them with clear gloss for the lips :]. And then other times, I mix them with clear nail polish XD.

Toshia Avatar

I use pigments in various ways. I use them as a shadow dry over a sticky base or I foil them. I use them as a cheek highlighter (MAC’s vanilla), I use them on my lips on top of lipstick in the center, and I put some in my lotion to give my skin a glow.

Alexis Avatar

I love pigments! They are so versatile! Bloodline, I’d probly use as a wet liner for an evening look. Or dust it over a shadow for some spark 🙂

Kat Avatar

I’ve haven’t owned a pigment until recently (Vanilla by MAC), but if it’s a light shade I would use it as a highlighter, any other colour I would use as a sheer eye shadow.

Blair Avatar

I used pigments any way I can. Nail polish, eyeshadow, blush. Just depends on the color on what I use it for, but I mostly used them for eyeshadow

Iona Avatar

I think I would use this wet as eyeliner for day time or wet also for a dark smoky eye look at night. Pigments really need to be used wet don’t they?

Sandi Avatar

I love to use MAC Pigments with my fingers! I find i get less ‘fallout’ when I do, and then I blend lightly with a brush afterwards.
Or I use them wet to line.

Jessica Avatar

Honestly it just depends on the color. Lighter to medium shades are highlights, eyeshadows, or lip color. Darker shades are eyeshadows and depending on the color, a lip color cause you can achieve any intensity you want with enough gloss in it.

Agnes Avatar

i like to use pigments over a primer & eyeshadow.. just pat the color on top and then slightly blend out! also, i love using pigments to create amazing nail polishes! mix them with a clear polish and apply! looks amazing 😀

Kirstie Avatar

I have never used a MAC pigment… are they like Bare Minerals eye shadows? If so, I would use them as an eye liner or eye shadow… but always with Urban Decay primer potion!

Jennifer S. Avatar

Oooh this is a beautiful pigment! I would add it to my lip balm, wear it on my lashline, and use it to take any eye look from day to night!

Steph Avatar

I’ve never had the chance to use MAC pigments before but I really want to! I think they would be GREAT for eyeshadow because I can never get enough color with typical shadows. I LOVE loose eyeshadows because I can get more color. Pigments must work like that, right?

Keli Avatar

I love to use pigments on my eyes, both wet and dry. I also love to add pigments to clear gloss for a beautiful lip finish and to my favorite body lotions for a hint of color and shimmer.

Beryl Avatar

As an eyeshadow! I almost always use my pigments wet if they’re light colors for the lid. I bet Bloodline will look gorgeous as a crease color for any combination.

Kenneth Alan Avatar

I only own vanilla and pink opal pigment so I love to use them all over the face mixed with a setting powder or just as a highlight. Obviously I can’t use bloodline like that… well actually It would be quite interesting haha. I’d probably use bloodline as an eyeshadow and wet as a liner or even dusted over the lips. I think it would look nice over some of my nail polishes as well.

Beth Avatar

I honestly cannot tell you how I like to use pigments as I’ve never owned or even tried one in-store! I have, however, considered trying them. I think I’d best use them wet.

Mary Avatar

i would use this pigment in my crease because it is such a beautiful, dark plum color with amazing glitters! i would most likely wear this with ‘kittenish’ lipstick with ‘decorative’ lustreglass. i would wear this at night, or to a special occasion.

Monique Avatar

I really only like to use them as eyeshadows. I sometimes will use fix+ with them, but hardly ever. I did make a nail polish color with a pigment once!

Stephanie Avatar

So far, i’ve only used my pigments for eyeshadows. Well, except Vanilla. I’ve tried it mixed with lipgloss and as a cheekbone highlighter, but not very often.

Jamie Avatar

I LOVE MAC pigments – the options are endless. I don’t do makeup for a living but I buy pigments because it allows me to create my own shades and looks. LOVE pigments!!

Jennifer Avatar

OOOH. I love pigments because they are so versatile. I think Bloodline would be an awesome crease color or even as a color for nails. I’d even use it as an eyeliner. Such a pretty color. 🙂

Sarah Avatar

ive never used pigments before! ive used loose eyeshadow wet as liner and i can image foiling would be similar all over the lid

this is my favorite item from fabulous felines
