Your “No Makeup” Makeup Looks, Part 2

Temptalia Readers Share Their “No Makeup” Makeup Looks!

And part two… four parts together for a total of 36 entries!

Check out breakdowns for each reader’s look!

CYNTHIA is 25 and has fallen in love with the world of makeup. She considers it both a hohbby and a welcome escape from her office job. She doesn’t have her own blog, but she follows many!

WHAT SHE LOVES ABOUT HER LOOK: The entire look takes less than 15 minutes and wears very well throughout the day!

WHAT SHE USED: On eyes, she used Urban Decay Zero 24/7 Liner (tightlined) and Lancome Definicils Mascara. On the face, she used MAC C2 Face & Body Foundation, Lancome Clair Photogenic Pressed Powder, and MAC Instant Chic Blush.

DANI is an aspiring performer who loves anything related to beauty, fashion, and the performing arts. You can find her blogging over at Call It Beauty.

WHAT SHE LOVES ABOUT HER LOOK: My favorite thing about this look is that it allows me to be more comfortable in my own skin. No fancy eye makeup to hide behind, no outrageous lip color; just me, but more polished.

WHAT SHE USED: For eyes, she used MAC Naked Lunch Eyeshadow (lid), MAC Shale Eyeshadow (crease), Sleek Makeup Black Eyeshadow (brows, definition), and L’Oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara. On the face, she used Neutrogena UltraSheer Water-Light Daily Face Sunscreen (primer), MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NW20), Laura Mercier Real Sand Mineral Powder, MAC NC30 Studio Finish Concealer, Physicians Formula Light Bronzer, MAC By Candlelight Mineralize Skinfinish. On lips, she used MAC Fuchsia Fix Tinted Lip Conditioner.

HILANA is a single mom who loves makeup and music. She thinks she just might be the eternal teenager. She just started her blog, because she loves writing.

WHAT SHE LOVES ABOUT HER LOOK: I have been doing this “no make up look” since forever. What I love most about this look is that it looks really natural and not “made up.” Just enough to make me look healthy and as if I care about my appearance.

WHAT SHE USED: On eyes, she used Revlon Marble-ous Match Eyeliner and Lancome Onyx Hypnose Mascara. On the face, she used Maybelline Creamy Natural Dream Matte Mousse and Rimmel Bronzer. On lips, she used Elizabeth Arden Perfect Cassis Lipstick.

LAUREN is a 24 year old freelance writer and co-owner of an online boutique (Ukay Manila) by night, and an aspiring stylist and makeup artist whenever she can. She writes her own style/beauty blog all the way from the Philippines!

WHAT SHE LOVES ABOUT HER LOOK: Even though it only takes me ten minutes to do, I always get at least one compliment about how pretty I look today. Also, save for the NARS blush and Urban Decay shadows, everything else costs less than $10 apiece.

WHAT SHE USED: On eyes, she used Urban Decay Chopper Eyeshadow, Urban Decay Smog Eyeshadow, Tony Moly Brown Gel Liner, and Maybelline Cat Eyes Mascara. On the face, she used Ellana Mineral Foundation, L’Oreal True Match Concealer, and NARS Orgasm Blush. On lips, she used Revlon Ginger Rose Super Lustrous Lipstick.

ANITA is a 34 year old stay-at-home mum of three. She’s a self-confessed beauty addict who has enough makeup to last a lifetime (or two!). She’s a big rock music fan, with such favorites as Europe, Bon Jovi, Foreigner, and “old” 90s bands like Skid Row, Warrant, Guns ‘N’ Roses, and Poison. She started her own beauty blog and tries to fit it in with her busy routine!

WHAT SHE LOVES ABOUT HER LOOK: My favorite bit of this look is the eyes and the cheeks. If I was going out I’d probably add a natural looking lipgloss too, but this is perfect for just lazing around at home.

WHAT SHE USED: For eyes, she used MAC Show Off Brow Set, 17 Black Infinite Lash, and Urban Decay Zero 24/7 Liner. For the face, she used Avon Magix Face Primer, Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch Concealer, MAC Medium Mineralize Skinfinish, and MAC Light Flush Mineralize Skinfinish. On lips, she used Vaseline Rosy Lips Balm.

MARGARITA lives in Tallinn, Estonia, and she loves to experiment with makeup and discover new products!

WHAT SHE LOVES ABOUT HER LOOK: What I love about the whole No Makeup look idea – makes you look fresh and polished effortlessly, can be easily turned into an evening look. What I love the most in this look – Armani Bronze Mania sheer bronzer #1 – amazingly makes skin just glow, applies very sheer in texture, but gives the most natural tan color (not too orange, not too pink, just right for neutral and fair-skinned girls).

WHAT SHE USED: For eyes, she used Chanel Les Folies Noires, Giorgio Armani Nude Contrastes Palette #1, and Chanel Mystic Eyes Quad. For the face, she used Jane Iredale Amazing Base Loose Mineral Powder (Warm Silk) and Giorgio Armani Bronze Mania Sheer Bronzer #1.

NATALIA is 26 years old, and though she was born in Vladivostok, Russia, she’s spent the past two years in Osaka, Japan. She loves color coordination and writing, and she runs a Russian blog.

WHAT SHE LOVES ABOUT HER LOOK: I love this look because it gives me natural glow and I feel feminine and tender.

WHAT SHE USED: For eyes, she used Bobbi Brown Espresso Ink Gel Eyeliner, Chanel #86 Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow,Chanel Blond Clair #51 Sculpting Brow Pencil, and Kanebo Coffret D’or Beauty Effect Mascara #38. For the face, she used Bobbi Brown Light Peach Corrector, Bobbi Brown Warm Sand Skin Foundation, Clinique Superblended Face Powder, and Clinique #108 Blush. On lips, she wore Chanel Discrete #23 Rouge Allure Lipstick.

MARGOT is an 18 year old journalism student in England. She loves what she studies as much as makeup. She writes a blog on her classes and journalism!

WHAT SHE LOVES ABOUT HER LOOK: It just accents my natural features without making me look like someone completely different. I’m not a bright makeup sort of gal, so it’s exactly what I like 🙂

WHAT SHE USED: On eyes, she used MAC Patina Eyeshadow (lids), MAC Sketch Eyeshadow (crease), and YSL Faux Cils Mascara. She used MAC Marine Life Powder on cheeks, and she finished with MAC Slick Pink Lipgelee on her lips.

SHEENA found that she had a lot of fun trying out this “No Makeup” makeup and thinks she may make this a go-to look!

WHAT SHE USED: On eyes, she used MAC Soba Eyeshadow (lid, crease), MAC Blacktrack Fluidline (upper lash line), Urban Decay Corrupt 24/7 Liner (lower lash line), and Bare Escentuals Blackest Black Buxom Lash Mascara. On her face, she wore NARS Barcelona Sheer Glow Foundation and MAC Lilicent Blushcreme. On lips, she wore MAC Made to Order Lipstick and MAC Slicked Pink Lipgelee.

Such gorgeous looks! 🙂 Especially love Sheena’s, Lauren’s, Hilana’s and Cynthia’s, but all the others are beautiful too. Oh and I’m Anita by the way (for those who don’t know me). 😉

Cynthia B Avatar

Thank you, that means SO much!

Your look is gorgeous, and I own pretty much everything you’ve used, so I’ll definitely have to give it a go. 🙂

JayJay Avatar

Great job to all the ladies, in part 1 and part 2. You’re all gorgeous!

Christine, this was a great idea. I hope to see it again soon. Do you plan to do different themes?

Katie Avatar

Everyone posted in the “No Makeup” Makeup looks are so beautiful! This was really helpful – gave me some list and a list of products I now want to buy!

Justasking Avatar

How come there are no dark skinned beauties featured? Im not happy about that…this should be diverse and not focus on only lighter toned lovelies.

Christine Avatar

… everyone featured is everyone who submitted. There are also four parts, so I think it is unfair to make such a grave and insulting insinuation without seeing all the parts – of which readers are featured in the order the submissions were received.

The focus is on Temptalia readers, whomever they may be.

Kelsey Avatar

I love this idea! You should do this again with smokey eyes or something.
I wanted to submit a look, but my skin is on the fritz right now, so no makeup actually means… no makeup haha.
Hilana your eyelashes are AMAZING.

Christine Avatar

This is about Temptalia readers. I featured every submission I received, so unfortunately, if you feel that there are not enough options for darker skin tones, that is not something I can remedy, as these are reader submissions — not to mention there are two more parts (18 more submissions) that you haven’t even seen.

Katie Avatar

Not necessarily! It’s not like these girls aren’t wearing any makeup, because they certainly are. I have dry / sensitive skin with break outs here and there. As a mom, my daily routine is based on this kind of look. I do the works, from primer to contouring, but I make it look as natural as possible (because I don’t plan on rocking purple and black eye shadow with tons of glitz as I’m cooking dinner and changing diapers lol).

Ru Avatar

I second Katie’s comments. I have not the greatest skin but the trick is to make it look like you have even tone and color. Find the products that work for you and experiment!

I agree..when i did my makeup test run for my wedding day, the makeup artist said that it takes a lot to make something look like nothing at all. If you see all these brides on photos, they all look fabulous and natural but up close they have a lot of cover up on and not to mention contouring. My photo looks like nothing but i still have a full coverage foundation on 🙂

Ashley Avatar

Everybody looks so lovely! <3

And for somebody who commented that you have to have perfect skin to do the no-makeup look, I don't really agree. Natural eyes, lips, and blush-tone don't really cover your skin.

Emily Avatar

Great idea! 😀 I love all the looks. Wish I would have sent one in! Lol. I’ll have to be more aware when you post things like that! Anyways. All the girls look gorgeous!

Sheena F Avatar

YAY!!! A fellow Filipino made it to the post (Lauren)! Everyone looks fabulous! I love makeup but it’s nice to take a break from all the vibrant colors every now and then. This was such a fun challenge Christine. More reader challenges!!

My only regret was forgetting to write about myself. I think I was just too excited to submit my look haha!

About Me: I’m 24 and I’ve been married for almost 2 yrs and live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I work part-time as a graphic designer and at a museum gift store. I love makeup!! And during the work week I always have to “put my face on.” But I love my no-makeup days when I’m just lounging around or re-organizing at home. Everytime I go with a full look, I always make time (at least half an hour to an hour). I love putting makeup on because it’s fun for me and it’s kind of nice to figure out what color palette I am going with today. Although, I don’t go too crazy when I work at the museum. I keep it somewhat neutral with bronzes or warm purples–just to not scare the kids too much, yknow?

What I love about my look: It’s simple yet somewhat complicated since I still used a fair amount of products. But it will be my go-to look during my lazy days. Now my hubby won’t say I have “too much crap” on my face lol!

But better late than never!!

umm we haven’t even seen all of the looks you guys, however, *if* a woman of color (and i am one) didn’t submit a look, what should christine do?? i honestly wanted to but i didn’t even know about this until AFTER the deadline. there’s no need to insult Temptalia like that, christine is being more than generous and fair by even giving us an opportunity to be part of a huge feature for her site — so if you missed the boat (like i did) then that’s not her fault.

anyway, everyone here looks lovely. i especially love Sheena and Natalia’s looks. nice job ladies 🙂

Cynthia B Avatar

This is so cool! I’ll admit that I squirmed a little when I saw my goofy, smiling face looking back at me, but I’ll get over it, haha.

Thanks for doing this Christine, it’s neat to put a face with some of the names I see in the comment section. 😀

Cheyenne Avatar

I love Margot’s freckles 😀 She’s adorable! This makes me wish I would have entered >.< All this moving has put me so far behind.

Laurel Avatar

This might be my favorite Temptalia post ever! Dani’s gorgeous look inspired me to buy “Shale” and “Naked Lunch” eyeshadows over at MAC and give it a shot myself. 🙂

Hilana Avatar

Hi Everybody!
When I showed my son these comments, he just burst out laughing. He says (typical sweet son) that I am much younger and prettier looking than Ellen.
We both are big Ellen fans, by the way. I think she is a stunning person.

Thank you all for the kind remarks.
And thank you, Christine, for giving us the opportunity to participate in your blog. Such an honour to be featured here.

And once again, your readers are so lovely!

We try to approve comments within 24 hours (and reply to them within 72 hours) but can sometimes get behind and appreciate your patience! 🙂 If you have general feedback, product review requests, off-topic questions, or need technical support, please contact us directly. Thank you for your patience!
