No, Kathy. You’re not the only one! I hate how a true nude l/s looks on me. Lately, I’ve been using MAC Thrills l/s just barely touched on the lips from the tube to give a base. Then top with Stila Kitten gloss in the center. (For ref, I’m an NW 15/20 depending on the season – freckled, hazel eyes, brown hair.)
It’s definitely not just you! I feel like everyone can rock out Myth, Peachstock, and Freckletone EXCEPT me! Everyone has their perfect nude, you just have to find yours. I’m NW20 (fair skin, blue eyes, brown hair) and MAC’s Hug Me and Jubilee are MY perfect nudes. They may not work for everyone, but they work for me because with such fair skin, it’s better to go a little darker so you don’t wash yourself out.
You know, I also can’t wear those lipsticks. They don’t suit my complexation at all! My lips are super pigmented (in a mauvish shade) and I can only wear pinky-nudes. MAC’s Hug me and Jubilee are my perfect nudes as well! I’m NC25 in SFF for reference.
My combos,
hug me / jubilee + mac lipglass (the clear one) / nymphette / love rock / gold rebel or utterly posh.

Nope – i can’t wear beigey nudes but try a more pinkish nude. That’s what i wear when i need a “nude” lip. Th beige nude makes me look like death!
I like to wear Spirit (Mac) – it’s a satin finish & it carries the right amount of color without being a ghostly nude on my skin (I’m a tad lighter than NARS Sheer Glow in Syracuse). It’s really hard for darker girls like myself to find a “nude” lip color – 99% of them simply do not work, so I’m really glad I found this ultra-wearable-on-a-daily-basis color. I top it off w/ a touch of Rosebud Salve for a slight sheen w/o being too lipgloss-y.
recently i’ve been using MAC Myth with Stila’s Starfruit.
Not the greatest, but I love having something good to go with Myth.
Anyone else know any good Myth combos???
Try putting Nymphette (golden pink) or Love Nectar (peachy with a hint of pink) on top. Really pretty. If you want something more nude — try Florabundance on top.
My favorite nude combo is NARS Belle de Jour lipstick top with Shisedo Champagne Sparkle lip gloss. I don’t wear MAC foundations but I’m guessing I’m around a NC43. I use MUFE HD Foundation in #155.
My favorite nude lipstick is MAC Shy Girl, it works really well on my fair skin because it doesn’t wash me out! Then I put MAC Prrr Lipglass on top of that!

When I’m in a hurry, I just apply a thin layer of Revlon’s Lilac Pastelle lip gloss. When I’m going to whole-hog, I put on Revlon’s Soft Nude, with Cherries in the Glow lip gloss on top. I can’t do nude-nude lips. Peachy nude for me!
I’m an nc25-30 and I have two go to combos.
1. Revlon nude attitude lipstick with hip savory jelly balm over it. Gorg true nude.
2. Mac hue with Sally Hansen diamond lipgloss in gem. Gorg pink nude.
I’m NC35. I use MAC Cherish lipstick with Bare Necessity lipglass over it!

i’m NW20/NC15 in the winter, and NW20/NC20 in the summer; bareminerals fair/golden fair, and bobbi brown warm ivory/beige.
I would have to say that it’s Gingerroot cremestick topped with Creme d’Nude lipstick and Nymphette lipglass (all MAC). I mean…it ends up really thick, but it’s really pretty and dimensional. ha ha. only wear makeup for photos anyway!
Oh, by the way: The closest match I’ve found for my rather pale and cool-/yellow-toned facial coloring is Makeup Forever Camouflage Cream in Golden Beige 15. (The rest of my body is a different story entirely, lol.)

Hue is the perfect pink nude for me. Creme d’ nude is pretty, but it looks so glowy and bam on me, but it isn’t too bad if I do a dramatic eye… I prefer Hue or even Angel.
Oh this is me with Naked liner by mac filled in, Creme d’ nude , with Laura Mercier LE Midnight hour gloss (Pinkish nude) over it.

My favorites are MAC Myth with Oak lipliner, NARS Belle Du Jour with MAC Subculture lipliner, and MAC Creme d Nude with Subculture.. for Pink nudes i like Angel with Stripdown lipliner & NARS Turkish Delight gloss, MAC Hue alone or with MAC Florabundance or NARS Turkish Delight.

I like Shu Uemura’s BG 942 as orange-y nude and Mac’s Lazy Day (Does it count as nude?) as pink-y nude lipstick.
And I don’t wear ’em w/t any lipglass ‘coz their color look good enough alone.
Plus, I don’t like sticky feeling on my lips esp. when my hair stick on it! Oh no!

i really love YSL rouge volupté lipsticks, and #1 is a good nude for me. i apply lightly and usually put on whatever natural-pinky gloss on top… i like mac’s prrr or nymphette lipglass, or chanel bikini peach (i’d better stock up! i hate limited edition…)

as my lips are very pigmented, for a perfect nude look I just use mac moisture cover (nw 15) over my chapstick; this is the perfect look if I’m doing big-hair like sophia loren or brigitte bardot. For a less extreme look I take mac’s hue l/s.

When I’m tan, I love MAC Polished Up with some clear lip gloss on top. It’s not totally neutral, but my lips aren’t very pigmented so they disappear without some actual color in the lipstick.

Just discovered this combo: Tom Ford Warm Sable with Revlon’s Peach Petal over it. The l/g tones down the brown in the l/s making it the perfect nude for my dark lips.
MAC’s Honeyflower lipstick and Revealying lipglass. NARS Honolulu Honey lipstick and Giza lipgloss is a great one too.

The pinky-nude color I wear everyday is Viva Glam II. Sometimes I pair it with Viva Glam V lipglass. If I really want to go nude, I wear Peachstock.

Nude Nudes just look really weird on me. My favourite nude look is Politely Pink, with VG vi SE lipglass on top.
I also have a thing for Phlox lipstick.. Not pigmented at all, but just gives a nice iridescent shimmer to the lips.
Kraft lipstick from Pret-a-papier either alone or worn with Frankly Fresh lipglass on top. This is as nude as I’d go, since most ‘nudes’ don’t really work with me at all.
I’m extremely pale neutral.
I tend to reach for Urban Decay’s lipstick in Naked.
But before Naked was around I used MAC’s slimshine lipstick in Bare.

MAC Shy Girl lipstick with Enchantress lipglass! Enchantress gives it a beautiful peachy duochrome sheen and Shy Girl has enough pigment that it doesn’t wash me out, but it’s pale enough to be a real “nude.” It’s one of my favorite lipsticks.
Im an NC30 and I don’t rock the nude lip too much, but when I do I use only lipstick.I use Brave New Bronze.The MAC MA said that Brave and Honeylove are good dupes, just in case.
My go to nudes are Guerlain Rouge G in Guerlinade (01) and Shiseido Perfect Rogue in Spiced Cream. I’m shade 964/764 (Shu) for reference or NC30.
I am a very big fan of Blankety my Mac. Its like my go to right now. Its an amplified so its so creamy and pigmented. For a real nude, without “concealer” lips I love Revlon Soft Nude- really similar to Creme d’nude. Give thoes a try. Im a NW20- medium fair, blue eyes, dark brown (died hair)- medium brown natural. This is a great post.

It took about a year and a half to find a really good nude lipstick for me. Came to realize that my skintone and lipcolor don’t allow me to wear the “traditional” nudes that others may wear. I tried UD’s Naked, but it’s too pink. I really loved how Velvet Teddy looked when you wore it in your looks, so I went to buy it. When I looked at it however, it kinda seemed like Naked– a little too pink for me. I DID find Taupe at the MAC counter though, and that’s what I’ve been wearing for my nude lip since!
I’m a spot on NW30 and my lips re naturally a very pigmented mauvey color, so it’s hard to find nudes.
I Line my lips with Smashbox lipliner in Pro, and top it with Dior addict gloss in #247. its a pinky beige that doesn’t wash me out too bad. Sometimes I put a bit of a pinker toned lipstick on top if it looks too beige.
MAC’s Pure Rose l/s LOVE. Sometime i put C-thru or Moonbathe lipglass over it but I actually prefer it by itself for a nice nude look.

I’ve been trying to find the perfect nude lip, the best I can come up with is Cream Cerise lipstick and a touch of Mad Cap lipglass for my skintone, NC45. Some days I love it on me and some days it’s a bit blah.
I adore and am desperate to get more of TheBalm Classified, its the perfect nude for me. <3<3<3 or if (when is more like it) I run out of that or am in the mood for gloss I head straight for Boy Bait cremesheen MAC
Either Revlon Colorburst in Soft Nude or MAC Patisserie with Chanel’s Glossimer in Futile over it. I’ve got rose-berry pigmented lips and a true nude is not easy to achieve, but these combos work.

Nudes were always a tough call for me, but MAC Call My Bluff l/s + You’ve Got It Cremesheen works perfectly, which is pretty thrilling for me! (NC15, black hair, green eyes, red-pigmented lips)
Sometimes MAC Naked liner with Fashion Scoop Cremesheen gloss over it works too, but sometimes it doesn’t and I never can tell why.

I LOVE nude lips, but I’m actually surprised to say I don’t have a go to combo. I’m NC30 and Fresh Brew lipstick from Mac is so far the only nude-ish lipstick i’ve found and liked just the way it is. I typically just pat a thin layer of concealer over my lips (I keep my lips very well moisturized) and go on my way, I’m not too much of a glossy lips gal. Recently though, I’ve been loving Nars Supervixen gloss over a paled out lip.

I’m NW15-ish and I dn’t really have a go-to nude lip combo yet as I’m still experimenting. I reckon the best I’ve found so far is a blend of MAC’s Creme Cup and Creme D’Nude lipsticks.

Cherish is an amazing lipstick and that is the most nude it gets here, i like color. And i liked mac’s jingle jangle lip gloss and they need to re release it! In place of that when i want that color i wear sephora’s fame lipgloss, in rising star.

I’m NC15ish and I use either MAC Peachstock (PRO/LoL) with Buxom Diamonds in Celeste or I use Viva Glam V alone. <3
Im MUFE 177 and I pull off most nudes MAC Creme d Nude, Myth and C-thru or Tom Ford Vanilla Suede and Pink Blush blended with cork or lightly with Chestnut or pinkish liner (mac dervish or this YSL pink liner) always with a really smokey eye which is my normal going out look or c thru (daily nude) blended with chestnut liner and always loads of lashes. I always pair a lil gloss with my MAC nude lipsticks (nars greek holiday or turkish delight, mac C thru, fashion scoop, fashion whim,etc) for more depth.
For me the key is to concentrate the light nudes on the lower lip and lightly brush color onto the upper lip into well blended liner. It helps on my darker complexion…..
True nude shades are completely a miss for me. I’d look like I’m dead with Myth or something like that. I just don’t like how it looks. I’m ‘red lipstick’ team, lol 😀

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur lipstick in “Tea Rose”!!
It works so well with my ultra fair NW10 skin. It is the most beautiful neutral nude with a slight hint of peach. Doesn’t clash with cool skin or make me look dead! I love it with MAC Test Pattern or Prestige Silk lip liner. So glad to have finally found the perfect nude.
Im not big on nude lips but if I want something soft and natural I go for Viva Glam Gaga and Nyx strawberry lipgloss to brighten it since gaga can look a bit milky on my darker skin tone.
