Sooo… we talking about lip liner or nail polish? 😛

As for lip liner, I love the way it gives my color or gloss lasting power, buuuuuut I never seem to remember to use it!

I don’t like the look or wear of matte polishes. I love lipliner because I have tiny lips and partly draw them on and blend the liner out. Then I smooth on a nice nude color and voila, bigger lips!

Every time I do a clients makeup I use a lipliner. I am a fan of MAC’s as well as Nars and Wet N Wild (you really cant beat the WNW ones for a dolla!)

Girls need to know that Lip Liner look a WHOLE lot more flattering when you choose a color close to your lip color, and don’t just line the outside, but fill it in as well. Topped with a sheer gloss it makes your lips look all ^_^ I wish more people used it =[

I totally agree! it is exactly what I do and it makes all the difference on lasting power more so on the lipglosses or the lippies that wear off quickly like the YSL rouge volupte. 🙂

i hate it when ladies only outline their lips and dont colour it in and if they do, they have it sticking out like a sore thumb with their frosty lipstick on top ewww
personally, i dont use any. more of a lip blam kinda gal

I love lip liner. Its one of the items that I feel like really “finishes” a face (along with mascara and whatever brow treatment someone is using). It’s usually the little things like lip liner that most people don’t think they notice but when you have it on, you realize how great it looks.

I often wear a lip liner and the Palladio Tinted Lip Balm, especially this time of year. I think it’s just such an effortless look and yet still looks nice and pulled together.

I love the Nars lip liners and the Wet and Wild ones too.

I have really dry lips and liner dries them out to the point where they’re peeling, cracking and bleeding. I know most make up artists swear by it but for me it’s not really an option.

Lip liner makes a huge difference, especially if you have a small, rosebud mouth like mine with a thin upper lip. Liner defines lips, adds a touch of fullness, and finishes the look. I’ve got one from MAC and one from Lancome, but the ones I really like are ColorStay from Revlon.

I love lipliner! I think it’s absolutely necessary if you want your lipstick to look clean and polished. It can also look good on its own! My friend likes to use NYX Hot Red liner to fill in her entire lip and which makes a gorgeous matte red color. If I’m going for a natural look, I fill in my lips with Smashbox The Nude Lip Pencil and top with a little lip balm.

I dont use lip liners, I always feel like my lips look too crisp lol. Plus I already have full lips, so no need to do any extra!

It drives me nutso when I see people that use lip liner AROUND their lips to try and make them look bigger. You can always tell where the lip line actually is and it just looks clownish. Kudos to the people that can pull it off but its definitely not for me. (or for people who dont know how to apply it!)

I rarely use lip liner. My lips are pretty defined as it is and my lipstick doesn’t bleed very often. If I’m wearing a sheer-ish gloss in a nice color and I want to show that off, I’ll line and fill my lips with a nude liner, then put the gloss on top.

I love lipliners,
because I love super creamy lipsticks like Mac amplified lipsticks, YSL rouge volupte
and these types of formulas tend to go all over the place if I didnt define it with a lip liner

I have several lip liners but I don’t use them much. However, over the weekend I used a lip liner and it was God send. I have Revlon’s lipstick (in the black packaging) in Coral which is more like a red/orange color. I used the lipstick with MAC’s Lush & Bright Lipgelee from the Lilyland collection. When I put the lipgelee on top of the lipstick it moved he lipstick around and there were areas on my lip tha did not look like it had lipstick. Luckily, I purchased poppy lip linger from Prestige (love it) and then applied my lipstick and lip gelee. It worked wonders. I have to check out more of the Prestige liners. Love the texture, not drying at all.

I like lip liner. I don’t use it every day but I find it does make a difference to how my lipstick looks and lasts.

I have about 7 and they are all varying shades of pink, nude and beige – I think having a shade close to your natural lip colour is best, line to define and then fill in, add a little soft balm and then top with lipstick, which lasts about twice as long for a little extra effort.

I really like Elizabeth Arden pencils in Blush and Cocoa Rose, these are nicely pigmented, creamy to apply and last well – much better than the Bobbi Brown ones (and cheaper too!)IMO, but the new Double Wear ones from Estee Lauder look fabulous as well 🙂

My go-to one has been Mac’s Gingeroot for a while…love it, makes lipstick last so much longer. I also LOVE Urban Decay’s clear one…I think it’s called Ozone. Their lip liner is just as creamy as they eye liners, which really helps even out lipstick and creases. Great stuff!

I’m not a big fan of lipliner. I can never get it to look right on me and I feel weird when I try to wear it. I prefer to just use a lip brush with lipstick to outline my lips.

Yvonne Avatar

so it says lip liner, but im gonna rant about matte nail polish.

IT CHIPS AFTER 1 DAY i think i need to get a matte topcoat or something because its absolutely infuriating

denise Avatar

I don’t usually use lipliner, but when im wearing a read or an intense coral lipstick, I definitely need it. I’ve been loving the combination of MAC Temperature Rising lipliner with Revlon’s Coral Colorburst lipstick 🙂

nicci Avatar

Never use it and never bought a lip liner…just seems like an “extra” step and when I have had it put on me before I didn’t notice any difference

ak Avatar

Yeah I have big lips but I still have to use lip pencil to fix my lips up and help my lipstick ‘integrate’ with my face. I love MAC’s lip pencils but I also like their Cremestick Liners because it’s waxy and I believeit looks like it holds your lipstick on you for longer.

I have just one lip liner. It wasn’t until recently that I started venturing out into the exciting world of lipstick. I have a lot of pinks and nuetrals, plus one red. I figured the perfect liner for me to start with is Subculture by MAC. I love it. It basically compliments all of my lipsticks but one, VG Cyndi (because it’s red). I think I’d like to get Sublime Culture next, to try the other formula, then I’d like to get a red.

I, too, find standard pencil liners to be very drying. However, I have a nude color, a red, a fuchsia, a purple, and maybe some wonky other colors in there.

I try to use lip liners as a way to emphasize the lipstick’s shade as well as for staying power. For example, I try to have a mid-tone cool red to use with all my cool-toned red lipsticks. However, a neutral color is probably the best.

Matte Polish: I have OPI Suede Russian Navy and I must say I really do like the look. I used to use it and then put topcoat over it, because it really got dimension with the shine. However, I ran out of both my base coat and top coat at the same time, and this was the only polish I had that is actually supposed to be applied without a base or top coat.

Yes, you have to apply a coat a day to keep up on it, but I fell in love 🙂 However, once I got my top coat, I switched to regular polish, because the Matte really was high maintenance.

Lipliners: I swear by Make Up For Ever Aqua Lipliners. They are my HG liner. Makes my lipstick last FOREVER. I only have one shade (15C) which works for my bright opaque shades. (Think NARS Funny Face, Schiap) However not really for my sheer colors. I need to get more… 😛
