That brush set is really cute! I like the design and the selection of brush types, but I feel like you never know what you’re going to get quality-wise in a set like this ?. Any idea if or when they will be in stores? That’s one of would definitely want to see and touch in person before buying.
The makeup colors are pretty, look very wearable, but IDK, not feeling the funky tropical design on the packaging
Everything looks beautiful!
I hope the cheek trio is good bc I bought it this morning! I’m really loving the stick highlighter/blushes I got from Smashbox (which is unusual for me) so I thought I’d try some more product in stick form. Since it’s claimed the shades are good on anyone, I’ve got my fingers crossed! I made the cutoff for ordering so, unless the Sephora warehouse is backed up, I should have this tomorrow by 5.
How is the cheek trio? I am heavily considering it.
I didn’t care for it. Each piece is extremely small (think travel size). The packaging is cheap cardboard, although the pattern is pretty, so it’s difficult to open each piece. On my light neutral skin, the shades were barely visible. Applying with fingertips, none of the products could be seen. Applying directly each product was visible but sheer. If you are looking for something sheer or on bare skin, this might work out. If not, I think it’s overpriced for substandard quality. If you can, I’d recommend testing it in store before buying.
It’s kind of annoying they’re pushing how “eco” this collaboration is when the Sephora house brand is sold in China & thus tested on animals. :/ I know that other Sephora-exclusive “celebrity” lines are cruelty-free (Kat Von D, off the top of my head), and I’m pretty sure that Koh Gen Do who makes Kat Von D also makes the Sephora brand? I know when Sephora’s house brand started selling in China people also freaked out about KVD, but then it came out that KVD isn’t being sold there because Kat herself is very very pro-PETA. So…IDK, long story short, the Tarte-esque “eco” brushes seem a bit hypocritical when this line is probably going to be tested on animals!
Not quarreling with what you say about China. There is a ton of hypocrisy over the whole PRC bit. Watch out for Chinese dog treats packaged as if they were US products. But you are in error a bit on the parent cos. The earlier Sephora originals, like Hello Kitty, Tarina Tarantino, and Charlotte Ronson were developed by S’s research arm. That spun off into Kendo, which may have been rechristened Innovation Lab, in SF. Kendo is responsible for Bite, formula X, kvd, and, I just learned, ole henrickson, or however you spell it. Kendo and Sephora are separate, but related entities under LVMH cosmetics. (Don’t forget the brandy!) Koh Gen Do is not an LVMH company, but it has been sold @ Sephora since 11, along with Nordie’s, etc. Koh Gen Do’s main shipping in US is in WA state, so I assume their US offices are there, too. Assume Kendo is responsible for the Disney collabs, too.
The traincase is really interesting but 110 $ ?! So many other things on my wishlist that this traincase won’t be Mine.
The ingredients on the cheek trio sound good. Lip shades look nice, too.
What a gorgeous and stunning collection. Love the designs.
I love the designs, especially the clutches!
