Absolutely.

I used to use a Tarte lip treatment, but I’ve taken to using a homemade sugar scrub and my favorite conditioning balm. Works exceptionally well and my lips always look fantastic, even in satin/matte finish lipsticks. <3

I use a Clarisonic every night and always spend some time going over my lips. My lips are thin and tend to be dry, but at least they’re never flaky!

YES! It makes my lips super smooth!
I usually do it every other day, or when my lips are horribly dry and flaky or if I’m going to wear certain lipstick that will emphasize my dry lips. I use Bath & Body’s Mentha lip buffer. Its great (:

I must be the only one here to not exfoliate my lips. I just don’t have the need to. I simply use a lipbalm every night before going to bed and every morning after brushing my teeth and so my lips are never flaky or dry.

Never ! My lips are too sensitive for that, moisturizing and nourishing them regularly is enough to keep them smooth.
Whenever dry skin flakes show up and I want to wear lipstick, I use the cotton pad soaked in hot water trick.

I don’t exfoliate my lips on a regular basis… If I do, I use a homemade mixture of my favorite lip balm with a little sugar or a baby tooth brush. Afterwards, I put on a balm again and in the morning my lips are as smooth as ever :).

Often! Usually, I run over them gently for a few seconds with my toothbrush. Occasionally, when they need extra attention, I’ll sugar scrub them by patting on table sugar over a thick coat of Vaseline. I rub it around for a bit, then rinse or wipe it away. Tasty too!

yes, up to 3 times a week, but I use my toothbrush for it as it gives me better results as every scrub I have ever tried + its less messy.afterwards I just a apply a sheabutter or a lipbalm

Elysia Avatar

No, I never have. I’m a chapstick nut, so my lips are always moist and never get dry or crusty or anything. I have just never had a need too.

Michou Avatar

YES! My lips get so cracked and dry (chronic dehydration due to a medication I’m on for life) so I use either the olive oil/sugar method or the toothbrush (a spare, don’t want toothpaste making me MORE dry) after I’ve brushed my teeth.

Alannah Avatar

Yes, but not very freqently (usually whenever I notice they need it, which is maybe once every 6-8 weeks)! I use Smashbox’s lip scrub!

Sweeda88 Avatar

No. Since I started using Aquaphor on my lips, I NEVER have flakiness or dry patches on my lips. If you’ve never tried it, you MUST! It is powerful stuff!

Dana Avatar

I do but would never buy an actual product to do so, that’s a total scam. I use a washcloth, towel, toothbrush or when I use a scrub on my face I also go over my lips

Vanesa Avatar

i just recently purchased a lip scrub from Lush and i love it…i really notice the difference after the first use and how could you not love licking it all off at the end hehehehehehhe

Iris Avatar

I know I’m suppose to do it but I don’t. I LOVE wearing lip products. Any advice (that is not CLARISONIC)and products to use for a newbie???!!

Kat Avatar

Yeah, when I wear a nude lip, it’s a requirement. Otherwise….yuck. This might sound kind of disgusting, but I wear a sticky lipgloss to bed. When I wake up, the lipgloss has made the skin layer of the lips very loose and soft, so I either just peel it away (yeah, ew! but totally satisfying in that sick way) or I just brush it back and forth with a rough paper towel. This leaves the lips free of any roughness and completely soft and clean.

Yes! My lips are never flaky or dry because I use chapstick regularly, but it makes lip products go on much more smoothly. I’ll either scrub my lips with a toothbrush for a quick and mess-free way or I’ll use a homemade sugar scrub.

soooometimes, but not as often as i should. i tend to have naturally very nice lips. but if i’m wearing lipstick for a few days in a row, they get really dried out, so i either use and old toothbrush with a bit of lotion or vaseline, or Mary Kay satin lips (the only mary kay i’ll ever use willingly!!!)

Sydni Avatar

yes. I exfoliate because it’s good for the lips. See I get dead skin (very often) in my inner sides of my lips and exfoliating with a toothbrush, some warm water and sugar really gets the job done. I do this every other day at nighttime so my lips can settle and when I get up it will look glamorous.
