Natural Makeup: Quick & Easy Browns
Natural Makeup: Quick & Easy Browns
My days are all messed up. I thought it was going to be Saturday, so I thought a neutral look would make for a good Saturday post… but no, it’s Friday. Had I known that, I would have definitely done something brighter. Boo! And yeah, the lip combo for this look is a pricey one, so you could try MAC Kinda Sexy or Honeylove lipstick with Nymphette lipglass on top for a more affordable version! (I am just determined to start using and finishing some of my higher-end lipsticks/glosses!)
HAPPY FRIDAY! 🙂
You will need the following…
- Eyes: MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot (neutral eyeshadow base), MAC All That Glitters Eyeshadow (reddish champagne), MAC Soft Brown Eyeshadow (soft brown), MAC Swiss Chocolate Eyeshadow (medium chocolate brown with red undertones), MAC Grain Eyeshadow (neutral highlighter), Urban Decay Underground 24/7 Liner (reddish brown), Fresh Supernova Mascara (black)
- Face: Make Up For Ever HD Foundation (140), Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder (translucent)
- Cheeks: Estee Lauder Peach Nuance Blush (coral-pink), Benefit Sugarbomb Blush (pinky-peach)
- Lips: Cle de Peau T2 Extra Rich Lipstick (browned nude), Cle de Peau #2 Lipgloss (champagne-peach)
- Brushes: 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 116 (dense blush brush)
For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply All That Glitters eyeshadow on the inner two thirds of the lid. Lightly blend Soft Brown eyeshadow on the outer third of the lid with the 239. Next, apply Swiss Chocolate eyeshadow into the crease with the 226, lightly blending onto the outer lid. Blend Grain eyeshadow with the crease shade and highlight the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Underground eyeliner on the lower lash line. Finish by sweeping lashes with Supernova mascara.
For cheeks, apply Peach Nuance blush on the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116, then lightly pat Sugarbomb blush on the cheekbones for a little glow.
For lips, apply T2 lipstick first, and then layer #2 lipgloss for a complementing lip.
You look so perfect with this look, it’s so simple, but gorgeous at the same time.
You made me want Swiss Chocolate.
Thanks so much, Ellery Allison 😀

Gorgeous as usual, Christine! Just a question: in the list of the products you used, you mention All That Glitters, in the description it’s Retrospeck. Which one did you use? 😉
All That Glitters! I don’t know why but I constantly think the other whenever I use one.
So pretty — I love neutral eyes with pinky peachy cheeks and lips!
Thank you, Michelle!
i’m guessing u didn’t use All That Glitters at all and decided on Retrospeck instead ? on the list of eyeshadows u had All That Glitters instead … but I guess it’s either/or right ?
I used All That Glitters 🙂

Love this look but unfortunately, warm-reddish browns make me look tired.. Christine if you were to switch it up to cooler tones, which colors would you recommend?
Hey! You could try Honesty, Omega, Mystery — the only one I’m not sold on is Honesty, which does have gold to it.
Hey Christine, I love this look!
Can you tell me if soft brown is darker than wedge and lighter than espresso? And if swiss chocolate is lighter than espresso?
Basically, I have all that glitters (which I love) and I was looking for a somewhat neutral crease color that would still maintain the peachyness of all that glitters. I have espresso and I have wedge but I think that they are too dark and too light, respectively. If I could only get one crease color, which would you recommend?
THANKS!
Soft Brown is a little lighter than Wedge, lighter than Espresso. Swiss Chocolate is lighter than Espresso!
I’d go for Swiss Chocolate for a crease color. 🙂
Gorgeous. Just gorgeous. Natural looks are my favorite.
Thank you, Lynniekae!
You look so glowy and gorgeous! Do you not generally use eyeliner?
Not on the upper lash line, since it irritates my eye!
That is a really pretty look and I actually have most of the eye products, so it’s something I could try to recreate. I probably never would’ve come up w/ it myself. Lovely.
Thanks so much, Carrie 🙂
I really lovvved this look
Thanks a lot, Hend!
Purrrfect!
Zero weirdness kombos aka funschia lipgloss paired with bronser.
This look is perfection!
Thank you, Whirl!
wow….probably not the focus of this post, but your hair looks absolutely STUNNING! What did you use to make it look like that?
Thanks! Nothing… lol!
That blush is HEAVEN on your skin!!
Thanks, Mandy!
Hey Christine, I recently purchased my first paint pot in Soft Ochre but when I apply it to my lid it comes out really really dry and caky. It tugs at my eyelid and looks horrible. Did I just get a bad one?
That’s so weird! It shouldn’t be dry or anything like that. I would take it back (if it’s convenient), or you could try microwaving it. I left mine opened for 2 days on accident, and it was pretty dry, so I microwaved it (without the cap!!), and it’s back to its creamy, lovely self.
Now I want peach nuance! Do you like it better than MAC peach ombre blush? I haven’t used Estee Lauder blush in about 7 years!
I think they’re both on equal footing, to be honest 🙂 I probably like Ripe Peach a smidgen more!
i love everything about this look!
Thanks, Nika!
This is gorgeous on you, you look absolutely stunning!
Thank you, Anna!
Brown suits u so much . You should wear it all the time.
Thanks, Ariana!
Christine…you look amazing here! WOW! Your brows are on point too! 😀 beautiful!
Thank you, Christina!
Your lashes look really good Christine!!  Like they’re naturally fluffy and you have no mascara on!  I love Fresh mascara!!  Your eyebrows are looking better and better too (not that they weren’t nice before =D)
Thanks a lot, Kate! Hmm, haven’t done anything to the brows – same ol’ same ol!
Supernova looks incredibly natural! Love this look!
Thanks, Tiffany!
This has got to be my favorite!!! I’m afraid of bright colors and I’m very very fair skinned, so I really love this look!!
Thanks, Cheyenne!
