You’ve already said almost exactly what I was going to say! Splotchy blush just isn’t a good look! And if a blush is so powdery that it merely brushes away while I’m trying to apply it, what’s the point? So, a buildable, blendable formula that sticks around is what I look for.

Usually I’m looking for a cream blush, but beyond that, something that looks like a natural flush, goes with any look and blends well.

For me it’s important that it’s soft and blendable. Also, if it’s too pigmented as well as hard to blend out then then that’s a complete deal-breaker. I’m too pale for a pigmented blush that won’t blend out!

Do you have any recommendations? I try to avoid talc (and petroleum products), but I’m sooo picky about color, it’s often difficult to get both…

Unfortunately, tarte blushes do contain talc, at least the few shades I looked at… There was a time tarte was talc-free, but the brand was picked up by a venture capital firm, and it was around then that things changed. LORAC was talc-/petroleum-free until around the time they exited Sephora…

Yes, needs to be easily blendable! I also prefer at least a satin finish, I’m not really into matte (no glitter either though I love my shimmer). I also really like a buildable blush; super pigmented blushes can be a pain to deal with.

Blendability, long lasting and not too shimmery. Also, if the brand offers more than pink, mauve, tan and coral…they are gold in my book. I am not saying I want green on the cheeks but offering beyond 4 colors is a must for me!

Biggest deal breaker for me is colour – no matter what the pundits decree, I don’t look good in peach, orange or coral shades so even if a blush is an A+, if it’s orange, it’s not for me. I don’t mind subtle glitter or sheen but not full on crazy sparkle. And I also appreciate blendability and long wear.

So glad I’m not the only one! Anything that leans peach, coral, apricot or orange is completely unflattering on me.

I have to stick with mattes – anything with shimmer just emphasizes uneven texture in my skin.

I’m pretty fair so I usually prefer sheer blushes as otherwise I can easily look a little clown-like. If a blush is too pigmented and can’t be sheeted out or is too powdery or doesn’t look natural than I won’t use it.

It has to be blendable. It has to be buildable. It has to last and not fade away to nothingness during the day. Good selection of usable shades also helps.

Bendable with a bit of glow. Also like similar creme and powder formulas for either layering, whacko skin day, or crazy weather which we have on the shores of Lake Erie.

If its not blendable. Im trying to like amarc jacobs blush i got but its streaky and doesn’t blend well. I shoukd have returned!

Something I don’t really have to blend, because blending can be a slippery slope that results in no cheek color, at least for me. Last summer there was a Lancome cream blush in an orangey/reddish color that I loved. It was limited edition. This year, I have been rocking the Nars powder blush in Orgasm, and am about to buy a second one as I have used up my first. I’m tan, so I need something that shows up, but looks natural, and this is such a winner!

It has to be blendable, not too powdery, and have a decent wear time. I also don’t like shimmery blushes (though I think Nars Orgasm has a bit of a glisten to it so it’s the exception) so prefer a matte, demi-matte or satin finish.
