When I was a teenager, I used to love loreal and covergirl because loreal was inexpensive back then (think about foundation used to be 11.99 and now is 16.99). I think my first beauty product was a pink eyeshadow from Red earth, it is also a brand I used to love but considered it a high end product…
I ve been a beauty addict for around 10 years…but I started buying make up almost everyday from last year because I started working..and before I usually bought from drugstore…
1. I used to love smashbox but since about three years ago I started drifting to Nars and Mac more because smashboxs formulas just dont seem to evolve enough and they dont offer a wide range of bright colors.
2. First big beauty brand I purchased from was Clinique. It was for Junior Prom back in 1999. It was the only place to go at the itty bitty Belk that I used to shop at in nowheresville.
3. I have been a beauty addict for at least ten years but I went hardcore with Nars, Smashbox, Urban Decay, etc….about four years ago. I dont think there is any drugstore left in my beauty drawer.

Sheer Cover…it wasn’t really the product but it was the customer service end of it..they were sending me stuff too often. Don’t know if that’s really complaint but, I just didn’t prefer it.

I started getting in to makeup since my sophomore year in college since I joined a dance group and we had to put makeup on every performance day. But I wouldn’t call it an addiction then..I really started getting into it about 4 years ago with drugstore cosmetics and now I’ve totally taken it to the next level with the high-end stuff since last year!

Brand: ELF. I used to love the prices but now I am not a huge fan of it anymore. It’s pretty good quality for what you pay, but I prefer higher end stuff.

Maybelline. The products don’t look very interesting to me anymore. It’s all the same. The fact that they do animal testing doesn’t help.

Probably Rimmel, I still love their eyeliner but other than that, I usually don’t use their products anymore. I prefer brands that don’t do tests on animals now.

* Brand you used to love but don’t anymore? Urban Decay. I haven’t cared for their newer releases, although i have their BoS’s. I’ve had spotty results with their products, and since expanding my Fyrinnae and MAC brights, there’s very little of their “good” products that get used regularly.
* First beauty brand you purchased from? Anonymous drugstore brand? If we’re talking drugstore, who the heck knows! High end, Urban Decay. Shortly therafter, MAC hooked me, and MUFE.
* How long have you been a beauty addict? Seriously? a few years. But I owned cheap makeup in my teens and did enjoy using it and considered myself a “nerd” though I knew NOTHING about it, and didn’t do anything extraordinary with it.

Ooohh. I guess it’d be MAC for me. When I first started out with makeup, I was CRAZY about MAC, everything I bought was MAC. Then I started to realise that while the products might work very well for some people, they don’t really work for me.

I suppose it would be Labello, I got a gorgeous cherry lipbalm. After that, a mascara from an Indian brand. Then a whole lot of Japanese stuff and I was hooked.

The brand i’ve had the most fails with would be clinique, i don’t completely hate them and have a few HG’s from them but all in all i’ve had alot of disappointments too.

Lancome, it was a duo eyeshadow and a juicy tube, i was 20 so quite a late bloomer. The reason I bought from them was because they had a gift time on at the time and that suckered me right in. I was very pleased with my purchases and the help I was given.

From that first trip to the lancome counter I talked about above, and i’m 26 now so nearly 6 years :).

Decided one summer that I’d try to be more “girly” because I used to think it was superficial to care about this stuff, boy how I’ve changed my tune. I showered in it and even sprayed my poor Pooh Bear with it. I was maybe 4 and insisted on everyone sniff me! It has been full steam ahead after that LOL

1. Bare Essentuals: they used to be my go to brand, obsession. Once their foundation started to not work on me I started to broaden my makeup horizons. Eventually I sold off all of my BE shadows & brushes.
2. Probably NYC or Wet & wild as a kid addicted to thick black eyeliner. But when i started to get acne as a teenager (maybe 12?) my mom bought me some lancome concealer that worked wonders 🙂
3. I’ve been into makeup for maybe 6 years, but hardcore into it for the past 4 or so !

1. I used to love Lancome and although I still purchase from them on occasion, there are other brands I love more now such as Mac and Mufe.
2. I am sure my first beauty purchase was probably a Max Factor or Maybelline lipstick.
3. I have been a beauty addict since I was first allowed to wear lipstick and blush at around age 12- I was hooked from then on and no doubt even begin to splurge on cosmetics with my babysitting earnings-lol.

Clarion(?) I think it was called, and I’m pretty sure it’s not around anymore. They use to have a little computer where you select your features, and it recommends a range of colours. Sadly it wasn’t suitable for ethnic skintones like mine… the results were pretty frightening.

Since I received a Barbie nailpolish and lipstick for my 5th birthday. I wasn’t allowed to use the lipstick till age 12 or 13 (by which point it was lost or binned), so I played with nailpolish in the meantime!

I went through a Bare Escentuals phase, but now, I am underwhelmed.

Back in the day, I used to love Revlon Street Wear nail polish! The first higher end makeup I bought was Urban Decay.

I have loved makeup since I was a teenager though I went through a phase in my 20’s where I did not wear if often.

I don’t know if I can pick just one brand I used to love but don’t anymore. I could name so many… but my biggest disappointment has been with Stila. I love it in high school and now, I just can’t find anything about it that I like. I think I’m just outside their demographic now (I’m 26).
I can’t remember what the first piece of makeup I bought for myself was, but I do remember the first piece of makeup that was bought for me: I was 7 and my mom bought me some Estee Lauder lip conditioner that came in a lipstick case. Sister Hogan saw me playing with it and confiscated it. My mom had to call in the next day to let her know it was okay for me to have it.
I’ve been a makeup junkie since I was 14. Prior to this point I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup to school.
Elf- used to love it now it crappy compared to others.
Mac- bought Da BLing eyeshadow it was life changing 🙂

1. Used to “love?” I never loved until I received a MAC pallet as a gift a few years ago. Then my eyes were OPENED! 😉 In recent years, I try my very best not to purchase cosmetics that test on animals. MAC and Urban Decay are favorites.

I used to have only 1 for each make-up (1 lipstick, 1 lipgloss, 1 eyeliner, etc etc) but I started buying more lip sticks, more lipglosses, more eyeliners, etc etc, about 6 months ago… Yeah I am a truly late bloomer (34 year old here) :)))

How long have you been a beauty addict? I have always loved mascara and lipgloss, but my fascination with high end beauty products began about 2 years ago when I was 20. My wallet hates me for it but my skin thanks me.

I honestly don’t remember the very first one – it was probably some cheap e/s when I was like 12 or 13… 😀 but I sooooo rarely used it that I don’t remember… I do remember my first serious more selective brand purchase: my Mom bought me my First Clinique mascara High Impact. Lol that was for passing my entrance exams and becoming a student I believe. haha lots of memories awoke by this question as you can see…

* Brand you used to love but don’t anymore? Bonne Bell! I used to own pretty much all of their eyeliners when I was about 14. I couldn’t wear them though, because they pulled too much. Anyone else remember heating up their liners with a lighter?
* First beauty brand you purchased from? I actually remember buying a bright blue Wet & Wild polish when I was 6 or 7 years old. It was summertime, so Ma let me wear it.
* How long have you been a beauty addict? My whole life? Mom never wore makeup, except mascara. I remember her getting it in her eye and screeching. I was terrified of mascara after that. Her best friend was always done up with lots of colours, and I was in awe of her. She would put makeup on me and paint my nails. I started wearing eyeshadow to school when I was 13, and I had one or two lipsticks that I wore as well.

How long have you been a beauty addict? I believe I’ve always been interested in it. I got my first Allure Magazine in 2001 when I was a sophomore in high school it started off as a slow boil, but then BAM! it was overflowing shortly thereafter!
I used to love Clinique, but I’m not crazy about it anymore. They’re skincare line is good, and I like some of their foundations. That’s it!
The first beauty brand I purchased from was probably something from the drug store, but my first high end purchase came from MAC. It was a fluidline in Blacktrack and a 266. Isn’t it funny the things we remember?

Brand you used to love but don’t anymore? Low end = Jane! Remember when their eyeshadows were amazing and they had the cute lip jellies with the brushes on the end? My highschool self loved that stuff. Sigh.
High end = Lancome foundations… used to use Teint Idole religiously but Revlon’s ColorStay is basically the same but stays put a LOT longer.
First beauty brand you purchased from? Low end, Cover Girl or Maybelline. High end, MAC and Lancome. In my old age (26, haha), I’ve drifted more toward utility and versatility over bright colors, but I still love my MAC eyeshadows and cremesheen glosses, NARS bronzer/blush and MUFE primer and eyeliner.
How long have you been a beauty addict? Since I was about 12, so 14 years! Started buying high end when I was 19 and used exclusively high end til 23 and then I smartened up and realized some drug store products are better than high end!

She always let me and my sis dive into her purse to discover the magic of all the make-up she was carrying ( it was a lot). Then around 8 I started to make multi-colored butterflies and take pictures of it on my little cousin. Yes her mom would let me. Thinking back and having myself a 3 years old daughter I am so thankful she let me do so.LOL! I don’t even recall not being into make-up.

oh gosh- drugstore i guess maybelline or revlon. i still love them. but i hate loreal or covergirl though- chalky e.s on earth! besides clinique,i remember some of my other makeup stuff that i bought at the mall when i was little was the victoria secrets makeup(the old stuff….. their new line is soo much better!). and also some makeup from the garden botanika store and an e/s from aveda. my first highend makeup was when i went to sephora for the first time in cali. i got urban decay midnight cowboy, lorac e/s in pewter.

ever since i used to be able to walk from my house to the drugstore. my first big start at the mall was in 2002 with mac. i got a few things, stopped , then started up again in dec 2008- then have been obbessed and buying everything from their mac collections. i also love urban decay, BE, smashbox, lorac, victoria secret, kat von d, and (some stila,toofaced, benefit items)
