tokidoki: Diamante Eyeshadow

tokidoki Diamante Eyeshadow ($15.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a pearled pink with silver microglitter. The color swatches amazingly, and it’s such a pretty shade that would work well as a brow or cheek highlighter–even more so on pink-toned skin–if it didn’t have that pesky silver glitter. The silver glitter doesn’t distribute evenly, but it also has a tendency to fall out, though it’s nowhere near the worst glitter fall out I’ve encountered. I’m totally drawn to the shade, but now I’m on the lookout for something similar, sans the glitter.

This shade was definitely better than Adios Star! The shade itself was smooth, pigmented, and easy to blend. I’m not against or for the packaging, but I still like the way it was done. I feel it’s cute, fitting with the brand, and it’s not cheap–it just doesn’t have that cheap feel of flimsy plastic. I like that each eyeshadow has a different colored top, because it’s a touch you see all the time. I can imagine that for some, these would be cumbersome to store, though.

Recommendation: I think that the tokidoki eyeshadows that aren’t described with “iridescent glitter” or “matte” may be the ones most worth checking out.

I just don’t “dig” their packaging – although the products seem ok in reviews, it does not make me want anything. Maybe I am too old (29) 🙂

I almost picked this up at Sephora a few days ago, but now I’m glad I didn’t. It looks like such a versatile, gorgeous shade…but I can’t deal with glitter fall-out at all.

I have to agree, all of the TokiDoki matte and glittery shades were disappointing. Hard to work with textures and payoff :/ I love their glosses though!

I swatched this eyeshadow and its horrible- sheer & glitter is everywhere even the co-worker at Sephora suggested a diff line LOL. Did you give it a B because it was gifted? (hope not) Its a D+ at most.

Based on my experience, it was smooth, pigmented, and easy to blend – but it had some glitter fall out, so it’s not a great eyeshadow. Like Urban Decay eyeshadows that have fabulous pigmentation and texture, they, too, can suffer from glitter fall out, but it doesn’t make them a terrible, unusable eyeshadow. I originally tried Adios Star, and I did have issues with pigmentation with that one, as you can see in this review – http://www.temptalia.com/tokidoki-for-sephora-adios-star-cromatico-eyeshadow-review-photos-swatches – but the only issue I had here was some glitter fall out, which I didn’t find to be that bad.

I’m sorry you didn’t have luck with this shade, so I’m glad you didn’t have to buy it to find out you didn’t like it. We all have different experiences with products – some work me but not you, some work for you and not me — like DiorShow flakes on me, but it’s an HG product for others — but it doesn’t make either of our experiences untrue.

I just picked this one up BECAUSE of the glitter–it looks really beautiful both swatched and on the eye. After being initially disappointed with the glitter falling out, I found that a dampened brush helped a lot. Also liked the packaging, it’s very cute.
