What is (or was) your Valentine's Day look?

We did our big celebration on Friday night, and I wore a gold/bronze eye with a little plum paired with a deep reddish-brown matte lip. We usually get brunch on Sundays, but we usually head out pretty early and I end up doing makeup when I get home (also, so I can save myself a little embarrassment of not having two totally different eyes on in public, ha ha).

I’m taking a break from hubby and baby and treating myself to a big swatchfest at the downtown stores. Will involve lots of Tom Ford, and a mix of NARS, Guerlain, Clarins, MAC 🙂 Will wear hot pink for Valentine’s day–hot pink top with pink blush and lips ( MAC Hollywood Cerise)

Because I don’t celebrate it, I decided to go team….BLUE. Deep blue, as in Zoya Neve on my nails. Tomorrow, some MAC Heaux lipstick and I haven’t a clue yet about my eyes! But I’ll work some deep blue in somewhere.
I LOL’d when I had a mental picture of people in the brunch eatery basically trying to figure out what they just saw!!! Or did they? Perhaps it was all just their eyes playing tricks on them! ?

I was working today (it’s past 6pm Valentine’s Day as of writing), so nothing super glamorous. Neutral brown eyes, a nice 60s cat eye, terracotta pink cheeks, BECCA Moonstone, and super glossy lips from this really thick, glossy lip balm that I have. Simple but flattering!

We went to Jamie’s Italian last night and we really enjoyed ourselves! I wore a black dress with a magenta shrug so I decided to go for a pink and purple eye (from UD Urban Spectrum – Omen, Backlash and Voodoo) and wear my new NARS lipgloss in Priscilla. I had to blot the lipgloss once so it wasn’t too bold and it looked lovely, more of a stain. I put on Gwen Stefani’s blushes in Cherry and OC with a light hand and my fiancé loved my look ?! For my base I used the new NARS Velvet Matt skin tint in Terre Neuve, it was a good colour match for me, altho perhaps not the best consistency for my currently dry skin. I used Max Factor’s Masterpiece waterproof mascara on my top lashes only, and set my base with NARS Nico. Very pleased with how it turned out! Happy Valentine’s to everyone! ?

I went cutesy for my going-out-for-drinks look last night, with shimmery shades of pink on eyes and cheeks. Pinks can go a little ruddy on me, especially on the eyes for some reason, so when I applied my Ever After Looxi highlighter, I dusted it over my shadow too – my hope was that it would keep it purpley pink instead of pulling orange – I think it worked! Anyway, and BANGS! Yep, I did it. So I went heavier on the eyeliner since they were sort of competing with my eyes. We are doing dinner tonight but I’m not sure what I will do yet; maybe back to my usual gold/bronze look. Happy Valentine’s Day!

I’m wearing a red eye using makeup geek bitten and cherry cola, smoked. Blush from rocky horror Mac collection, and NYX matte lip cream in Monte Carlo. ??Also, I’m wearing a red sweater with black legging that have studs on them, Toms sparkley black shoes.

We went for a relaxed dinner last night; I went urban decay’s Anarchy on the lips, very subtle pink blush, and a very light sheer hand with a pink/taupe/mauve-y eye – mac swish, shale, haux, quarry, and yogurt with a tiny bit of black smudged in the lash line – sometimes I appreciate less intense shadows like swish when I want a little color instead of a lot.

I smoked out a rose to orchid crease dabbed a warm icy lilac beige on lids Black tightlining Rose orchid Ombre under lower lash line pop of shimmery ice pink in corner and brow. I don’t have a Valentine this year. But, I’m heading to Ikea to get a new mattress finally and looking for other odds and ends.I haven’t gotten my face on yet. Probably going with Charlotte Tilbury Fallen Angel quad and try to work on my cat eye( we’ll see on that). Cheeks- I’ll have to use one of the my new MAC blushes from the Flamingo collection. I’m for sure using my new Tom Ford parent lip color in Erotic! I see a problem with those coming on!

Jenn Avatar

I plan on playing around with some neutrals on my eyes to keep it super simple and a nude lip. I don’t want to risk a mistake on valentines day so I am keeping it super simple.

All matte eye with my Too Faced Natural Matte palette, soft winged eyeliner, Shame on You blush, UD Streak highlighter and bronzer on cheekbones, Too Faced Born This Way foundation in Vanilla, and Mac lipstick in Velvet Teddy. It’s much like my everyday look but softer and just more romantic because I was working today.??

I have a breastfed 2-week old so basically I put on a necklace and headed out the door to be able to take advantage of the max 2h I had!
Earlier in the day I put on some tinted moisturizer and highlight to my cheeks with tinted lip balm hehe

I didn’t celebrate, but I can share my makeup of the day anyway.
Armani Maestro eyeshadow in Gold, Armani liquid eyeshadow in emerald, a bunch of MAC eyeshadows from the crease and up to the brows that are slightly enhanced by ABH Dipbrow in Dark Brown and set with ABH brow gel. UD Perversion liner and MJB mascara in Blaquer.
Foundation Benefit BB, The Big Easy in the lightest shade, Kiehls SPF under eye illuminating creme and TF lipstick in Malik, something that can seem like an odd choise, but it’s actually quite close to my natural lips.
I have som blush on, but don’t remeber what I grabbed.

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s day!

I’m single and I worked (just finished my shift not that long ago) but I still went with a Valentine’s day look anyway.
Eyes:TF Chocolate Bon Bons Palette ( Molasses Chip inner third, Totally Fetch on top Nyx Milk on middle third, Bordeaux mixed with Black Currant on outer third brought slightly into the crease and a touch of Earl Grey on top of B/BC mix. KVD Tattoo Liner for winged line.
Lips: Sephora cream lip stain in Always Red.
Cheeks: Colourpop Cruel Intentions, Wet n Wild Contour duo.

Mine is a no-makeup look because my husband is redoing my vanity and repainting the master bathroom as an anniversary present. All of my makeup and hair products are separated in boxes and scattered around the bedroom.

My look was something to summon spring on a -40C morning. Lise Watier’s new spring eye palette and blush and liner with a Nars Riguen lip. I was quite impressed with this new collection.

Janie Avatar

Pajamas!!! ? And since hope springs eternal, I got myself the Starrily Valentine’s collection at Live Love Polish. (Not thrilled with the Christian Grey shade, but I suffer character bias…. ? It’s a wonderfully subtle grey holo, great formula (soooo much more than I can say for its namesake), but if warmer greys don’t work on you, this is probably a pass. ? A metamorphic top coat obscures the holo too much.)

so I’m single and it’s 10 degrees out so I am not going anywhere but I did a fun pink-ish look with my new electric palette … savage and jilted on my upper lid, urban as a lower liner, and dark berry lips (colourpop’s more better). it felt festive anyway

I went MAC heavy— My eye look featured among other things on two Extra Dimension shadows: Rich Core and Ready to Party; Cheeks had Love Thing, which I also added to the upper eye crease. For lips I used Guerlain Rouge G that matched— the whole thing felt pretty. The Ready to Party shadow is pretty but can be intense in a distracting way, so I used it sparingly.

I wore a black high-low skirt, a bright red halter-style blouse with jeweled collar, and leopard print peep-toe wedge booties. For makeup I went with a pin up eye using my UD Gwen Stefani palette, and used red and opalescent glitter on the inner corner. I did a dramatic black winged liner with glitter liner painted over it. I filled in my brows and used three coasts of Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes. I used Milani Rose Powder Blush in Coral Cove and Looxi Beauty Highlighter in Ever After on my cheeks. I finished with Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Redrum. I painted a little heart “beauty mark” on my cheek with Redrum, as well.

I went with pastels.
Found a cheap thrill at the drugstore here: Catrice eyeshadow palette Absolute Brights in “Candy Warhol”, it’s 6 “barely there” pastel pearly shades for like $7.
So after applying my foundation to porcelain perfection I applied the pale lavender shadow from the Catrice palette lash to lid, used the white shadow from the palette to highlight my inner eye, daubed on a bit of By Terry’s Densiliss blush in “Nude Dance”on my cheekbones & finished the look with Estee Lauder’s Pink Parfait lippy.

Lindsay Avatar

I made a YouTube video, I did purple eyes and the bright pink lip with warm cheeks all affordable drugstore makeup products! And all cruelty free I love how it came out. Actually did it as a request from a friend and she loved it too! It made me really happy! It’s super candy looking LOL I also showed like four other various lipstick color combinations you could do with the look to tone it down or make it even crazier and out of the box 🙂

I had a lovely dinner with hubby in a romantic fancy restaurant, and I loved how my makeup turned out. I wear Chanel vitalumière in 30, maybelline fit me concealer in 20 sand, The Balm bahama mama for contour, my Hourglass edit palette for brozer, blush and diffused light as an all over powder. The Balm Marylou manizer for highlight. I made a nice smoky eye with my Urban Decay Smoky palette (thirteen all over the lid, combust as a transition shade, whiskey for the crease, dagger in the outer ” v” and black market in the upper and lower lash line) a defined cat eye with Stila stay all day eyeliner in black, my trusty Cover girl clump crusher mascara also in black. I used Milani #4 all natural lipliner followed by Nyx butter gloss in créme brulée. I finished with Mac Fix+.

We didn’t go “All-Out Special Occasion” this year (Neither of us had the energy, between work, a medical crisis in my family, and a snow storm), but rather just went for a casual dinner at our favorite Indian restaurant. So I kept it simple. I already had on my usual tinted moisturizer, so I added a dab of Tarte cheek stain in “Flushed,” powdered the shine off my t-zone, flicked on a coat of mascara, brushed some tinted gel through my brows, and finished it with a slick of Lipstick Queen’s “Jean Queen”….

….. let me take a moment to reflect in the pure genius that is Jean Queen….

Okay, that was the moment. But *anyway*, It was nice to just “freshen up” enough to feel pretty, without a lot of fuss.

As it was a day thing and pretty casual (though still very special and lovely) I didn’t go too crazy but still wanted the princess look. I went for subtle pink glossy lips, shiny glowing pink cheeks and, for eyes, MACs stylishly merry eyeshadow with phloof in the inner corners and carbon to slightly darken the outer corners, but left under my eyes clean. Then finished with lots of mascara 🙂

I used the pinks and purples from the TF Chocolate Bar, did a really strong highlight, and an old but favorite MAC lip gloss. I did end up stopping by at Kiko on Sunday to grab a few sale items because I was dropping off my sister at school.

Eyes: Lid UD Thrash, lower lashline UD Freak, crease UD Smog mixed with BareMinerals Elitist, upper lash Lorac Front of the Line Pro, Marc Jacobs Blacquer liner for lower lashline, Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara.
Face: Meow Cosmetics foundation, Guerlain Les Voilettes powder.
Lips: Just chapstick 😛

Jess Avatar

I wore Urban Decay eyeshadows in Robbery and Sideline with Urban Decay eyeliner in Junkie (metallic teal). Physicians Formula BB Cream, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil. Bare minerals moxie gloss in Show Off.

Meredith Avatar

Unfortunately, it was a bare face. One of our chihuahua puppies broke his leg Friday night and we are too busy catering to his needs to bother with much this year.

Lindsay Avatar

I actually went with a wash of a skinned toned light pink all of the lid up to the brow, a light warm brown crease , and a bright purple outer corner! With a thick cat eye wing. I didn’t intend on making the wing but you know how it goes when you start applying eyeliner it’s really tricky LOL

And to finish up the face I used a bright bright Candy color pink lip! I did a tutorial on it it was a special look for a special friend that I had been meaning to do and Valentine’s Day was the perfect day to do it! I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day but I made the look for my friend and she loved it. It was using all drugstore products!
