What's your current go-to look for a special occasion?
A gold/bronze eye, coral cheeks, and red lips! Sometimes I might go for a silvery taupe/pewter eye with rosy brown cheeks and red lips if I feel like switching it up.

Dark orange, creamy lip. Eyes have a soft wash of brown with a touch of glitter patted in the center of the lid.
Orange lips are SO beautiful.
Gold eyes, black liquid winged eyeliner, red lips. Been taking a break from the red lately, though, for more rosy-browny-pink lips.
If night time, shimmery bronze shadow with red lips. If daytime spring, neutral shadows with a shimmery pop of color (mint, blue, violet, or gold) and soft pink on cheeks and lips
usually a red lipstick with bold eyeliner (blue, green, or black with sparkle). sometimes i’ll go darker on the lips, like a burgundy or plum. but i like a single bright color for eye makeup
A red lip, yes, but with soft brown eyes. Or a really smokey bronze eye with a MLBB shade ifI know there is a lot of food involved.
Oh goodness, I think I’m too changeable, so it would likely be one of a few looks I’ve done when I knew I had to have everything on full fleek:
A.) Classic red lip, subtly tonal cheeks with either a classic cut-crease pin-up eye look, or a smokey gold & bronzey eye.
B.) Rich plum lip, UD Rapture Blush, smoky and rich, but not super dark taupey-plummy eye.
C.) Nude lip (with LIFE!), tawny rose cheeks (with a kick of gold), intense smoky eyes ( any shade that works with the outfit and my mood!)
If it’s in the evening, I’ll spring for a heavier contour and more pigmented highlight, like Becca’s – but I just can’t pull the heavy strobe in the daytime. I’ll also make sure to wear mascara. I typically don’t wear eye makeup due to extremely irritable skin in the corners of my eyes, but for special occasions I will bear with some, including eye shadow 🙂
Currently, it’s a nice shimmery pewter eye smoked out slightly with a sharp wing, tons of mascara, bit of coral blush and either a true red or deep raspberry pink liquid lipstick (Outlaw or Berlin by KVD).

Less time than 1st (often): Quick touch o shimmer charcoal cream shadow on kids close to lashfinger pst blend up and under eye Same blush Deep Plum lip Mascara Dust of meteorites. less than 10 mins 😀
For a special ocassion, a taupe/light gold metalic eye paired with a fushia or pink-rose lip color, pinky-coral blush and a subtle highlighter. At this time of year, the overall effect is brightening!
If it’s a really glam occasion, I go for a smokey yellow-brown-black eye look (MAC Maleficent palette), flushed pink cheeks (one of my Hourglass blushes) and MAC Viva Glam Rihanna 1. I just love that frosty red!
Definitely a soft brown or mauve purple smokey eye, paired with a semi bold dark pink lip. Sometimes, depending on the occasion, I will go for a no makeup makeup type of look, with a simple yet barely noticeable brown shadow in the crease and a brightening shade of white or pink or gold on the lid.
Same as you, but instead of a red lip I usually do peach or nude.
I do a neutral look with my eyes and cheeks, but with my lips, I use a red lipstick. I don’t always do anything extravagant except for my lips.
A silver + metallic gray eye, eyebrows more defined that most days, subtly light pink cheeks, and either a classic neutral red (like Besame 1946) or a berry- or plummy-red (like NARS Fanny or Vivien) lipstick; if it’s evening, a bit heavier on the contour and highlight than I usually do (my usual is pretty minimal).
The biggest difference between everyday/ special occasion makeup for me is wearing foundation because while I haaate wearing it, it definitely give a more flawless look. I usually go with deep shimmery gold/bronze eyes, double dose of eyeliner and mascara, peachy or coral cheeks, and a little color on the lip.
I tend to focus on the eyes. Most of my special occasions involve drinking and eating so dark or special lips is out.
Oh gosh. It depends on the occasion and the outfit. I never wear red on my eyes unless it’s one of my university’s sports events, in which case I do a burgundy smoky eye and a nude lip. We’re in gymnastics season now so that’s a regular special for me ? When I’m not doing it for school, though, I do a variation of a matte halo eye. They work really well with my eye shape and they’re easy to play with! I go more subtle with natural shadows if I’m pulling in a shimmer to the center of the lid, glowy cheeks, and a strawberry/coral lip. I add more contrast and some heavy smoky liner if I’m going with more contour and a nude lip.
Ooh, I like this post! Good for new ideas!
For me, It depends on the occasion. In cooler months I tend to go more matte neutrals on the eyes and use color on the lips and coordinate the cheek for professional, boring things. If it’s a night out with friends or something where I can be more myself, I like to use color on the lid or just outer V. I tend to be more daring with my makeup in spring and summer. I usually use golds ,plums mostly on my eyes. But, my goal is to start learning to use other shades too. My go to lip is a berry or Magenta currently. I love a brighter red as well. I don’t have many special occasions. So, when I do, I tend to think my makeup ahead of time.
I usually vary my look. When in doubt, I usually go for a pin-up eye with some shimmer on the lids, winged liner, and lots of mascara. Coral blush, subtle contour, highlighter. Red leaning coral or red on the lips.
I’ve never worn red or pink lipstick until Jeffreestars Hoe Hoe Hoe. I fell in love with that color. So, I do a dramatic eyeliner, highlight until I can be seen from outer space, and Hoe Hoe Hoe.
It depends on the occasion, but my current go-to look consists of rose gold shadow with black winged liner and lashes… rosy brown blush + contour + highlight… and a dusty rose lipstick.
I stick with my usual look just darkening the eyes a bit, add fabulous false lashes, and a bit of glitter. On my lips I go red and add some extra highlight to my cheeks. I spray some setting spray on and my face is ready to go. A few spritzes of a fabulous perfume tops everything off.
For special occasions I like to wear special makeup, challenge myself try different looks and colours I wouldn’t normally use. Usually I would put a bold lip in the mix, or eyeliner (which I don’t wear on a daily basis). If I had a “go-to” look then it means those occasions wouldn’t be so special 😉
Depending on what I am wearing: but definitely either green and gold eye or blue with lighter grey eyes, peachy blush and either a russet lip or red lips.
I’m so boring I do the same night time/special occasion makeup every time….but it just works so well!!
I use the Laura Mercier caviar stick in amethyst followed by the art eyes artists palette on the eyes, with African violet patted wet onto the centre of my lid…it’s a blown out smoky taupey purple look. I use Stila brown eyeliner on my tight line and waterline and often falsies too with this look. Foundation I use Estée Lauder double wear for a long lasting flawless finish. I contour more heavily for a special occasion, more so if it’s nighttime. I use a pinky nude blush like Max factor nude mauve (seriously the most stunning blush of all time). Definitely Mary Lou manizer on the high points and I always, always, pair this eye look with Urban Decay sheer revolution in Obsessed. It’s all perfection put together….why would I deviate??? Ha ha
I tend to wear a lot of neutrals and bronze/golds during the day so for a special occasion it’s nice to wear something different.
A subtle eye makeup with probably a slight winged liner, lots of mascara, some extra highlighting on cheek bones and some subtle blush… And a raspberry pink / magenta lipstick ( not matte though) would be my go to party look this season. Really glowing face without going over the top.
I don’t have one. The only thing I know is that there will be a shimmery eyeshadow or two involved along with a black liner.
Tinted moisturizer, spot concealer where I need it, and some translucent powder. Colourpop blush in “Prenup” is my go-to for pretty cheeks. From there it depends… I’ve been liking grey-ish mauve shadows on my eyes lately, with something sparkly patted in just the center of the lid. Carefully smudged pencil liner on both lash lines (I’m old, and need softer definition than liquid liner can give), and lots of mascara. And my favorite lip look lately has been some plumping gloss first, with a matching lip liner on top for definition, usually in a rosy neutral shade (if I do it the other way around, with the liner first, the plumping affect from the gloss doesn’t work).
Don’t have one. I like to mix it up. I wear any kind of look for any occasion. EXCEPT a smoky eye. That’s just too much for daytime. 🙂
I wish it were that simple for me! I don’t have a go-to look for special occasions because there are too many variables. Where are we going? What is the lighting like there? What am I going to wear? Then, of course, it would depend on the season. I’m sure there are more things I consider, because I can be more than a little neurotic about such things, but you get the idea.
Either smokey eye in shades of navy/deep shimmery aqua with subtle blush and nude or toned down lip OR bronze shimmer eye and plum matte lip. Highlighter, mascara, eyeliner boldness make the difference between day and night.
Usually I would go for full on smokey eyes in black and a nice shimmery colour, often pink or iridescent blue, false lashes too. My lips would usually b a pale cool toned pink, either gloss or lipstick. Finally contour, lots of highlight and some lilac blush.
Brown/coral smokey eyes, coral red lips and subtile contour.
Yikes. I don’t really have any go-to looks. I rarely duplicate the same thing twice. My routine consists of looking at my collection and thinking what do I feel like today. Or reaching for whatever color/product catches my attention first then building a look around it.
I don’t really have a ‘go-to’ look for special occasions, I’m always changing it, it just depends on what I’m wearing and what colours I feel like putting on my face, lol! It could be colourful or it could be smoky or it could be subtle. I have a more go-to look for the daytime though, tinted moisturiser, maybe some light blusher and a MLBB lipstick or lipbalm.
