Hands down — Bare Minerals 5-in-1 Advanced BB Cream Shadow w/SPF 15 – the shade Linen is close to my skin tone, so it’s an eye primer, cream shadow base, concealer, eye brightener, and extra sunscreen all in one. Great for travel because it takes the place of 5 products. I’ve re-purchased many times.
My Armani blush brush, it’s perfect for every every base task involving a powder formula.
A tie. Rimmel stay matte powder as both as setting powder and as an allover powder base for eyeshadow and as a blending color in a pinch. Also, Burberry Almond eyeshadow as an amazing eyeshadow and a useful contour color.
Mine is definitely NOT a conventional beauty product: Coconut oil. But, oh how it multi-tasks, though!
1.)As an oil cleanser to loosen my longwearing foundation and any other stubborn stuff before I clean my face with an exfoliating face wipe.
2.) An alternative to baby oil for eye makeup, but not so good at getting rid of that HG mascara of mine.
3.) Before and after shaving lubricant on my legs.
4.) Sunscreen, please don’t try this if you are fair or burn easily, though!
5.) Super deep conditioner on my hair. 6.) Mixed with sugar for a wonderful exfoliating scrub.
Oh, and of course for cooking, too!
Oooh, good one! I use it for everything as well. I use it and beeswax with vitamin e for lip balm, it’s in my sugar scrub, honey scrub, in skin balm, massage lotion and a few other items I make at home.
please do not use coconut oil as sunscreen, it has no significant Sun Protection Factor (SPF) so you are fully exposed. it’s a popular ingredient in sunscreens but not for SPF reasons. the coconut oil as sunscreen idea is a myth!
Indigenous peoples of the South Pacific and South-east Asia have been using pure unrefined coconut oil as a very effective sunscreen into times immemorial. It doesn’t completely protect against all UV rays, however it does provide excellent protection from the damaging rays that cause premature aging and skin cancers. Filipinos actually have the lowest incidence of melanoma of all populations, and they use pure unrefined coconut oil almost exclusively! As I did say above, I certainly would NOT recommend using this if one is fair or light skinned, additionally those with ANY personal or family history of skin cancer. I get very little sun exposure as it is, because it gets so hot here that during summer, I try to do my shopping and errands in the evening. Plus, I’m olive and medium toned.
Haha, I am from Southeast Asia. I assure you that Filipinos do not exclusively use coconut oil. It’s a great multi-tasking beauty product but the recent fad for the oil in the West gives it far more credit than is due. It’s not a miracle. Good luck with fighting sunspots and wrinkles and stay safe!
Wayne Goss fan brush – can use it to powder t-zone, apply bronzer, contour, blush, highlighter, and finishing product (e.g. Hourglass).
My fingers! The least expensive beauty product does the most! Opens, applies, closes, cleans, makeup application, skincare, etc. ?
So true!!
I think I’ll go with a brush too! Wayne Goss #14
The #14 may very well be my favourite brush.
For brush, I would say Wayne Goss Holiday brush. I can my whole face with it.
For a makeup item, Tom Ford eyeshadow quad in Cocoa Mirage.
When I want to travel REALLY light, these are the two things I definitely bring.
Lately I have been using KA Sculpting Powder for various tasks – not only for contouring (which I use it for least, lol) but almost every day as an eyebrow filler and also as a very natural/subtle crease color. I usually find highlighting powders to be very handy as eye shadows, too.
Probably NARS Exhibit A. I use it as blush of course, but also as eyeshadow and crease shade.
I couldn’t come up with a product for which I have more than 2 uses, so it comes down to a MAC short duo fibre 130. I use it for cream blush, powder blush, contour, highlight in both cream and powder form. I have 4 of them so I have a fresh brush for each product I use on any given day.
For tool my Sigma F84 – Angled Kabuki Brush I used for both highlighting and contouring my face.
My Yaby pp080 – first snow eyeshadow I use to highlight the whole face and inner corner of the eye. *_*
For tools, the Ecotools powder brush. Currently using it for finishing powder but have used in the past for pretty much everything.
For makeup, probably the Too Faced champagne eye primer which I’ve used as a primer, cream eyeshadow, and highlight. They’re discontinuing it though, I gotta snag a backup before it’s gone for good!
The beauty blender. It does everything
Yes! I was struggling to think of something, but I do use the beauty blender for quite a bit.
Yeah I’m the same. Basically any cream or liquid product can get use from a beauty blender.
Probably the Make Up For Ever #160 Blush Brush — I can use it to highlight, contour, and blush, with creams or powders; apply finishing powder and blend everything together; set undereye concealer with powder — the pointy shape makes it especially versatile (some people don’t like its length and “floppiness”; it takes a bit of practice). The Hourglass No. 2 foundation/blush brush comes in a close second, since it can be used to apply foundation (although I don’t use it that way) as well as cream or powder contour and blush, blend and apply finishing powder. I do have two so I can use one with creams and one with powders — I can see a second MUFE #160 in my future for the same reason.
Mac Fix+
Urban Decay Naked Basics. I can do my whole face with it except for blush. It works for eyeshadow on it’s own or to augment a brights palette. I can use Naked 2 to contour my face. I can use Venus as a highlighter. I can use Faint for my brows. Foxy can be a matte highlighter or used under the eyes. Crave can be an eyeliner. It’s the perfect size for traveling, and it goes with me almost every time I take a trip.
Yeah, I use my Naked Basics every single day. Even if it’s just to use the mirror lol
Me too!!!
It’s a tie between UD’s Good Karma Optical Blending brush and the shade Snow in the LORAC Pro Palette 2. The shadow makes an excellent highlighter.
My Wet n Wild Color icon Blush n glow trio in Sunset Junction. I bought it on a whim after watching a review of it on YouTube last summer and did not have such high hopes for it. After all, it’s WnW I thought, how good will it really be. However, on a daily basis I use it as blush, highlight, contour/bronzer, and eye shadow palette. It goes with me were ever I go and has not let me down since. I will miss it when it is gone, since it is a limited edition.
The Balm Bahama Mama Bronze : used as •Bronzer (light application)
•Sculpt (with a small eyeshadow blending brush)
•Eyeshadow
•Eyebrow Powder
•Eyeliner (when used with Inglot Duraline)
I agree, the Bahama Mama is a great multitask product! I use it also as contour, bronzer, eyeshadow and liner.
Blush brush for blending and setting powder
Cetaphil Cleanser – for my body and my face
I’d probably say my beauty blender, foundation, concealer, and all cream products!
ABH Riviera! I put it everyyyywhere! I’m light completed with pink undertones (NC17/1R04 for reference), but I use it as highlighter no probs. I also use it as an eyeshadow and on my lips at least 3x’s a week. Love it.
It was one of those things where I nvr would have bought it had I not swatched it. I fell in love that day in (& outside of) Macy’s!!! ?
Bare.Minerals (or is it Essentials?) “Well Rested” powder. It is designed to use on eyelids to brighten but i use it in dark circles and on dark discolored scars to set concealer. I find using my finger and pressing in, alternating right, and then left circular motions followed by spritz of makeup setting spray even works in hot Arizona summers.
Naked Basics palette since I use it for eye shadow, liner and to fill in my eyebrows
For brushes: a bareminerals angled fluffy brush that i got in a face kit (I think their christmas kit two christmases ago). It is fluffy enough to use as a powder brush if you have to, awesome for natural blushes and contouring, if you pinch it, you can use it for highlighting.
For a makeup product: Anastasia brow-wiz (also use it for a natural eyeliner/ tightliner) or mac studio fix powder (good foundation as well as powder).
Bobbi Brown’s Shimmerbrick in Bronze can be used as a bronzer, highlighter, and in a pinch, eye shadow. I love it, and buy a new one every year! Wish it was not so expensive, so I try to buy at the CCO outlet, on Ebay, or during Sephora’a Friends and Family sale in November.
