What are the main brands you purchase from?

I purchase from mostly “mainstream” brands from mid to luxury. I also purchase from drugstore brands (far more than what you see covered here, I have lots of “grand plans” that I’m never able to find time for!), but I often prioritize the mid-to-high-end as there may be less reviews available (investment cost is higher for a blogger to review Tom Ford vs. CoverGirl).

Drugstore company : revlon love their lip products and colorstay foundation . Essence love the mascara hated the mousse foundation
Mid range- I love too faced it cosmetics and lorac
Haven’t tried a lot high end although occasionally I dream about marc jacob (own one nail polish) and charlotte tibluty

Colour Pop is taking over my stash! Can’t beat the price, quality, or shade ranges, and every collection hits it out of the ballpark. Otherwise, I buy a little bit of drugstore ( Maybelline lipsticks), some lesser known brands ( City Color), but mostly ME brands (UD, BITE, Sephora, Too Faced, etc ) and a little HE (Dior, Chanel, Tom Ford).

Linda Avatar

I go for best of breed baby! I’m not loyal to one brand, though I do have quite the growing collection from several brands. Urban Decay, Hourglass and Benefit have sucked up quite a bit of my cash over the last few years on the makeup side, FAB Beauty and Boscia for skin care.

Hmm. I think it depends on the product.
Base:
Foundations- mostly Sephora-price-level stuff, with a bit of drugstore (Bourjois!) and Charlotte Tilbury, though I think I don’t own more than one foundation per brand
Powder- same
Primer- same

Face:
Highlight- Hourglass, Charlotte Tilbury, a bit of other stuff like MAC Lightscapade
Blushes- mainly have Hourglass and Tarte, with some Mac, Benefit and Clinique
Bronzer- Body Shop and Benefit
Contour- Kevyn Aucoin

Eyes:
Powder eyeshadows- mostly MAC, Urban Decay and a bit of Too Faced
Cream eyeshadows are ColourPop, MAC and some Charlotte Tilbury/Chanel.
Eyeliners- Urban Decay, Marc Jacobs, Tarte
Mascara- whatever deluxe samples I get for free

Lips:
Lipstick- This is where I have too much. The biggest collection would be MAC, with a couple each of some high end brands like YSL, Chanel, Charlotte Tilbury & Marc Jacobs. A smattering of Too Faced La Cremes, Sephora Matte Lip Cremes, NARS, Urban Decay, Besame, Colourpop Lippie Stix & Ultra Matte Lip Cremes, & some Clinique chubby sticks (and I’m sure I’m missing some)
Lip Liner- mostly MAC with one or two Charlotte Tilbury, Chanel & Urban Decay ones

Nails- mostly Essie but am starting to amass some Butter London, along with the various random ones like a single Debra Lippman, Formula X, etc.

Usually mid to high-end brands: I’ve been really into Lancome for makeup lately, but I also buy from more affordable brands like ColourPop or Kiko. I’m not buying so much at the drugstore anymore, I used to but I realized that it adds up to a lot of money at the end of the months, and I was often disappointed.
In terms of skincare I’ve been using many different brands, but I’m trying to build a routine around just a couple brands (Peter Thomas Roth, Exuviance) to be sure that the products work together well.

Foundation & powders- Cle de Peau, IT cosmetics, & Bourjois
Blush- Bourjois, Milani, Chanel, Estee Lauder
Concealer- Cle de Peau, IT cosmetics
Mascara- Cle de Peau, Elizabeth Arden, & Nyx
Eyeshadow- L’Oreal Infallible, Estee Lauder
Eye pencils/Liners- Elizabeth Arden, Prestige, L’Oreal Infallible.
Brows- Anastasia
Lips- L’Oreal Infallible, Estee Lauder, & Chanel
Brushes- I have an set of MAC pro brushes that are 20 yrs old that I still use. Haven’t bought a brush since 1995.
Skin care & primers- I make my own. One of the benefits of having been a pharmacist for 16 yrs. 😉

I used to be one of those crazy MAC fans with a little Dior, Too Faced, Nars & Chanel sprinkled in but my preferences have changed, I no longer purchase anything with shimmer or glitter (although in palettes & sets that is often unavoidable), now I LOVE it cosmetics (foundations/CC Cream, Face powder, concealer &
FAB-U-LOUS brushes), Tarte (for their brushes, palettes, blushes & bronzers) & Besame (I ♡ vintage look products) and have added LORAC lipsticks and lip glosses to my collection.
Although my preferences have changed for most of the cosmetics I use I still remain loyal to MAC Fix+, MAC lipsticks & lip glosses, Benefit they’re real mascara & Cover FX primers.

I used to buy from MAC a lot but I haven’t really recently, mostly because I have all the colors from their permanent collection that really stood out to me and I find it hard to keep up with all their LE releases. And their mattes can be drying.
I have a lot of lip tars but I’ve sort of given up on OCC too because so many of the lip tars are watery and feather like crazy.
Right now I love colourpop, kat von d, and stila for their liquid lipsticks, and bite for basically everything they make (lipstick is my main makeup obsession). I buy more from brands like colourpop and nyx because you get more bang for your buck

Mostly drug-store to mid-range brands. Cosmetics: Mainly e.l.f., Nyx, Wet n Wild, Urban Decay, Too Faced, Tarte, The Balm, Sleek, Makeup Revolution, ColourPop, Hard Candy, bhCosmetics, and BareMinerals. Mascara: Almay, Physician’s Formula, and Tarte. Indie brand: Notoriously Morbid. Skincare: NuSkin. Brushes: Real Techniques, e.l.f., ecotools.

Gillian Avatar

I mostly purchase from the slightly pricier drugstore brands such as Revlon and L’Oréal to more expensive department store brands such as Chanel and Guerlain. I venture out either end of the scale every so often so, for example, once in a blue moon I’ll get something from say Tom Ford. That’s my limit! But I’m just as happy getting a new Colour Tattoo from Maybelline and I try to remind myself of that when I’m eyeing up the latest expensive Guerlain lipstick (my god they’re good though)!

Kimberly Avatar

Urban Decay, Revlon, Maybelline, Kat Von D. And then there are specific products from brands that I’ve always repurchased like Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Liner, Tarte’s Lights Camera Lashes deluxe sample mascara and Clinique’s Cheek Pop blushes.

Fran Avatar

Wwendy, I think you have hit the nail on the head as far as why I own so few ds products as well! When I do purchase ds products it’s usually at my local ULTA where at least the displays are clean and well-organized and some testers are available.

Maribeth Avatar

More often than not, I purchase Chanel most frequently as I like all their makeup – eyeshadows, mascara, foundations and foundation primers. I will save my pennies for the Chanel brand. Second would be Urban Decay – I love their eyeshadow formula, palettes and their 24/7 Eyeliner pencils, and their Revolution lipsticks. I won’t go above the Chanel price range – meaning Tom Ford, CDP and Charlotte Tillsbury, even Burberry is too expensive for me. I did purchase a few of the Burberry eyeshadows & eyeliners when they first came out (I did hit pan on Pale Barley). I’d love to buy Armani and am lemming their eyeshadow tints, but the price is too high for one eyeshadow. As far as drugstore, I don’t mean to sound snooty but nothing in the drug store range ever works for me except the Revlon & Maybelline lipsticks, probably because I have oily skin.

MissJae1908 Avatar

The main brands that I purchase from changes from month to month. Right now, I’m on a Colour Pop kick for sure. I am literally obsessed with CP! Another brand that I’ve been exploring has been Becca. The Jaclyn Hill highlighter palette is BAE and I can’t put it down. And lastly, Kiko Cosmetics has been getting a lot of coins lately. I started out with purchasing their eyeshadows and highlighters and now I’m moving on to their skincare.

Lauren Avatar

It depends on product type. I don’t use any one brand across categories.

– For lips, I purchase from a wide range of brands, generally mid range and drugstore, with an emphasis towards drugstore. I generally don’t purchase very expensive lip products because I lose them. The only exception is my YSL tint in oil, literally my only luxury lip product. I also love the Fresh tinted lip balms, which are expensive for a lip balm. I haven’t found anything like those at the drugstore.
– For mascara, I also tend to purchase drugstore due to the need for frequent replacement.
– My eyeshadow is evenly split between Lorac, Urban Decay, and Too Faced. I also have a 15 pan Mac palette. I have purchased Smashbox and Tarte in the past, but I’ve had packaging issues with Smashbox and shadow quality issues with Tarte, so I don’t buy either brand anymore. I don’t purchase drugstore shadows because I hate the cheap packaging (with the exception of colourpop).
– Blush and highlighters are a mix of brands, all mid range with the exception of a few colourpop highlighters.
– I have several brands of foundation, but my favorite is Makeup Forever. I also really like my Clinique BB cream.
– Powder is also a mix of brands. My favorites are Hourglass ambient lighting powder and Too Faced Primed and Poreless. I also have some Mac powders but I have to be careful with them or I end up with cake face.
– Setting Spray is 100% Urban Decay.
– I love the Urban Decay Brow box, but I may grab an Anastasia Brow Wiz.

It depends on the product, but I still do stay within a fairly narrow range:

Lip products: I very rarely venture into anything other than DS, and since recently purging my stash, I’ve recently been drawn to NYX, WnW, Milani, & Maybelline.

Foundation: Again, mainly DS, with Maybelline, L’Oréal, & Revlon at the top. As for powders, I prefer silica/HD formulas, but I’m not picky.

Brows: NYX; it’s hard to find black in other brands, and now that I’ve managed to build up a regimen, I plan to go back to black hair. Also, the products are very good!

Mascara: I just buy whatever’s cheap…

Eyeshadow: UD, MAC, & NARS (although I haven’t picked anything up from the last few collections…), & Kat von D. As for DS, I’ve always been a fan of L’Oréal.I do have seseveral tarte palettes, but haven’t bought anything for a while, as nothing new has been released from the brand…

Blush: No particular brand dominates my stash… The same goes for contour/highlight products; I’m very picky about blush shades, and am on a perpetual quest for my HG contour shade, so I really take time with those, and really check every brand.

Lacey Avatar

When I first got into the online beauty world of reviews/blogging, it was all about MAC. I definitely have more MAC than anything as a result, but I find myself drawn to more Urban Decay products lately. Of course, their constant release of palettes has a lot to do with that, but I also love their lipsticks, eyeliners, and Perversion mascara. I have a few drugstore products in my rotation, but most of my collection is mid-range. Very few high-end products!

Shana Avatar

Eyes (my favourites/HGs) :
TF, Guerlain, YSL quads & palettes
Dior (cream shadows, maxi-lash primer, It-mascara), Chanel (cream shadows, liquid eyeliner pens), Laura Mercier (cream shadows)
UD (primer potion, 24/7 pens)
Mac (fluidline)
L’Oreal (butterfly mascara)
Max Factor (eyebrow pencil)

Face :
By Terry (Denssiliss primer, cream blush)
Guerlain (Meteorites, Voilettes, Bronzer, Blushes)
Dior (Air serum foundation, liquid blush), Kanebo Sensai (CP foundation)
TF (blush)
Kiehl’s (sun screen)

Lips :
Guerlain (Rouge G), Dior (Addict Extreme), YSL (Tint-oil), Sisley (Phyto glosses), By Terry (Baume de Rose)

Guerlain and Dior appear the most often in my list. Love them. But if TF has a complete counter here, I’d love to try more of his makeups.

Misty Avatar

I purchase MAC and Lancôme products pretty frequently. I love Guerlain as well, but their prices deter me from purchasing too often 🙂 I stick to MAC for everyday lipsticks/lipglasses and eyeshadows, Lancôme for foundations and mascaras, and Guerlain for special occasion lipsticks (I love the Rouge G’s and Rouge Automatiques!)

beka Avatar

Dolce & Gabbana, Tom Ford, and Armani are my go to’s, but i also have plenty of Cle de Peau, Guerlain, and Nars. I have a bit of other brands thrown in though-Urban Decay, Maybelline (lipsticks), Kevyn Aucoin, Viseart, Dior, L’oreal. I guess I like pretty much everything, but tend to buy more toward high end-especially for base products.

Rachael Avatar

Mostly mainstream mid range brands and lots of Guerlain. I have yet to see the value in Tom Ford, though Charlotte Tillbury has a few eye shadows that are tempting me. I usually hate drug store brands – the scents are very strong and often chemically. I really appreciate indie brands but am often disappointed with online orders because the colors are so different from what you see on a monitor and its annoying to return.

Sue210 Avatar

For face/base/foundation: NARS, Mac, Bobbi brown
Corrector: Armani master corrector, why doesn’t anybody ever talk about this? Texture is smooth and blends well!
Concealer: Tarte, Mac
Powders: MAC, Laura Mercier, Hourglass
Eyeshadows: MAC, Urban Decay, Lorac Pro, Viseart, Loreal infallible, maybelline color tattoo
Eyeliner: Lorac front of the line pro liquid liner! For pencils, I have no precedence and try whatever, Urban Decay, Nars, Revlon
Mascara: I use samples all the time. Love Guerlain Maxi Lash the best! If I ever ran out of my samples, I’d splurge on Guerlain Maxi Lash for sure!
Blush: Mac mineralized blushes, Milani baked blushes, Hourglass, Nars
Highlighter: Tom Ford Moonlight duo, Becca, Kevyn Aucoin, the Balm, Hourglass, benefit (watt’s up)
Lipstick: I have mostly MAC, Tom Ford, and Maybelline
Liquid lipstick: Kat Von D, Too Faced Melted, Sephora lip stain is so good!
Lipgloss: NARS, Mac

I use mostly mid to high-end. I love drugstore when it works but I get bothered by scents that are too fruity or strong e.g. Milani lipsticks, Nyx Round lipsticks. I tried them but couldn’t stand the scent.

kellly Avatar

Since I lost my better paying job last year I’ve gone to L’oreal and Revlon more than MAC (but I am planning to haul those Faerie shadows when they come out!) I’m all over the place, not particulary brand-focused, but definitely purchasing more affordable brands lately because they fit better with my budget. Like for now, Tom Ford and Charlotte Tillsbury aren’t even on my radar screen.

JESSIKA Avatar

I probably own something from almost every makeup brand, but my favorite LEAST expensive brand is Colour Pop and Makeup Geek. CP and MUG are absolutely amazing. Their eye shadows are cheap and PIGMENTED!!!! Every time I wear their products I receive compliments. I’m on a very very tight budget and I can easily treat myself to an eye shadow or two every two weeks from MUG and CP due to their low prices. If you haven’t tried them you’re missing out!

Urban decay, makeup forever, guerlain, tom ford, clinique, Anastasia, Mac but not so much anymore…I’m really all over just depends on what item. for example ELF i only buy their under eye setting powder and Tom ford only their matte lipsticks & eyeshadow quads. as far as idie brands…saucebox & MUG!

Stacy Avatar

Most of my regular, return-customer dollars to to NYX, ColourPop, ELF, Neutragena, and Paula’s Choice. The high end brand that tempts me enough to spend more money per product is most often Urban Decay.

Elizabeth Avatar

I mostly buy Urban Decay, NARS, Chanel, and Stendhal Paris. I also buy Physician’s Formula. I have a few odds and ends that I have discovered here because of your reviews and hard work Christine. The only Dior quint I ever wanted was Bonne Etoile, but I waited until you did a review because every other Dior Quint I had bought went back. I waited too long and they had been sold out. My husband found one on Amazon and got it for me for Christmas. I can’t open it yet, and I can’t believe he actually saw my old searches and found one. What a guy.

Kate Avatar

For foundation I use GA (both liquid and powder) as well as NARS. Love them both; see no reason to search for anything else.

I love a buttery matte eye shadow and anything duochrome as an accent, so I have lots of different brands (eye shadow is my vice–I have hundreds of shades). I love love love NARS (primer is a must) and am having fun playing with my new Urban Decay shadows, but I also love the looks I make with Stila, Tarte, and Lorac.

Brenda Schmitt Avatar

I will often purchase from Chanel or Lancôme. However, if the review is not that good, I will buy from lower end companies, or even drugstore if there is a good review.

Dior (almost everything)
MAC (foundations + lipsticks + face powders + highliters)
ColourPop (eyeshadows & liquid lipsticks, can’t stop buying!)
Guerlain (best bronzer out there + foundations + translucent powders)
Anastasia Beverly Hills (Brow Wiz only)
Too Faced (mascaras & eyeshadow palettes)
Lorac (mostly eyeshadow palettes)
Benefit (they’re real mascara is a must & Hoola)
YSL (foundations + mascaras)
NYX (lipsticks)
Loreal (foundations)
Maybeline (gel liner is a must + macaras + face powders)
Rimmel (eye brow pencils & face powders).

Maria Avatar

Eyeshadow- UD, MUFE, MAC, Too Faced
Powder/foundation – MAC, Too Faced
Blush/bronzer: Tarte, Clinique, hourglass
Lipstick/gloss – UD, Dior, smashbox, Clinique
Eyeliner – smashbox (pencil), stila (liquid), MAC (gel)
Brushes – MAC, Too Faced
Primer – smashbox (face), UD (eyes)

MAC is my most go-to. And whenever I’m in Europe, I head straight to Bourjois. At the drugstore, my main go-to is Maybelline. I do have products from a variety of brands though, but I don’t have THAT much Urban Decay, Nars, L’oreal, or Too Faced in comparison.

Genevieve Avatar

I purchase from a wide variety of brands for different kinds of products:
Lipsticks – Maybelline Colour Sensational Range
Eye shadows: Urban Decay, Dior, Guerlain, bareMinerals and in the past – Tarina Tarantino
Foundation: have tried lots, but Rimmel Match Perfection is the one for me
Blushes – Natio Sunkissed is my favourite

Victoria Avatar

The pampering and luxury of high end used to have an appeal to me that it no longer has (it used to be mainly Chanel). I will still buy high end, but only after reviews has me convinced there’s something I really want (this year mainly Charlotte Tilbury and Tom Ford captured my attention). In the last year I’ve bought much more mid range than ever before: Make Up For Ever, Kat Von D, Nars, MAC, Hourglass. The only thing that consistently has me go hunting beyond my usual range is the search for foundation. I think I have the fantasy that there’s a perfect foundation for every level of moist vs dry of my changeable skin, for every activity, for every look, all while suiting my fair fair skin. This is in many ways futile and expensive but it’s still a good adventure. Ii

Jetske Avatar

Mostly mid- to high-end, with some DS products thrown in.
Skincare: Mostly Paula’s Choice with some Clinique.
Tinted moisturisers and foundation from Bareminerals, Nars and Armani, powders from Nars, Laura Mercier & Guerlain, concealer from Nars, By Terry, Chanel, Maybelline, eye pencils from UD, Sephora & Marc Jacobs, eyeliner from MUFE & Bobbi Brown, eyeshadow from Burberry, Nars, UD and Chanel, mascara Max Factor/Maybelline, highlighters from Becca, Kevyn Aucoin, Burberry & Tom Ford, blush from Armani, Clinique, Tarte, MUFE, Hourglass & Tom Ford, bronzers Mac, Nars and Soap&Glory, lipstick/gloss from BITE, UD, YSL, Burberry, Chanel, Dior, Too Faced and Tom Ford, brow products Anastasia.
Nail polish: Smith & Cult, Chanel, Rescue Beauty Lounge, Dior, Marc Jacobs, Ciate

Mine is Revlon, NYX, Milani, MAC, Nars and Burberry… I have a few stuffs of each of those brands. While for the other brands, I bought only to satisfy my curiosity.. so I tend to have only one or two stuffs. Mainly lipstick 😀

Emilie Avatar

Elf (I’m always grabbing their brushes at the drugstore, they’re so cheap I can’t help myself!), Urban Decay, Kat Von D, and TheBalm. I usually try to keep it pretty varied when I purchase because I’m always wanting to try new formulas, but those are the ones I always bounce back to no matter what. I always want to add to my TheBalm blush collection, and Kat Von D and Urban Decay are two of the only brands I splurge on for a pricier lip product or single shadow. I usually only get palettes for the value or Mac lipsticks but for those brands it’s worth it.

Claire L Avatar

My makeup brands are from all over the place, but I usually buy foundation and mascara from Max Factor. Lately I’ve been getting into Kiko and Urban Decay for other makeup products as they do great products for not too much money. I used to love Boots 17 for cheap eyeshadows, but I don’t often go into Boots these days as I have a toddler, I usually use my little local chemists instead and shop online for makeup. I have been doing a huge splurge though on the holiday sets that have been released and discovering US brands like Bite Beauty, Sephora and Tarte. It’s been a lot of fun!

Susan Dowman Nevling Avatar

Hard question and I will try not to crash the internet. The most used brands at UD, IT Cosmetics,, Laura Mercier, MUFE, Clinique and Nars. I use Guerlain, Givenchy, Anastasia, Dr Brandt, Peter Thomas Roth, Dr Thomas Gross, Paula’s Choice, Benefit, and Two Faced. I use many brands of lipstick, too many brands to list. I also use some Sephora brand products.

Susan Dowman Nevling Avatar

Correction and addition. Dr. DENNIS Gross, and I also love Caudalie and L’Occitane for skin care and hand cream respectively.
I’m not listing hair products and I don’t use nail polish.

EYESHADOWS: Make Up For Ever, Rouge Bunny Rouge, Makeup Geek
EYE PRIMER: NYX
BLUSHES: Hourglass, Rouge Bunny Rouge
FINISHING POWDERS: Hourglass
MASCARA & EYELINER: KissMe Heroine Make
BROWS: Anastasia
BRUSHES: Hakuhodo, Koyudo

MAC – pretty much everything
YSL – face primer
Tom Ford – eye cream color (for now, am considering blushes, quads and lipsticks)
Urban Decay – naked palettes
Charlotte Tilbury – eye cream color (for now, am considering some quads and lipsticks)
Guerlain – Meteorites
Burberry – eye cream color (for now, am considering some quads, lipsticks, nude radiance and nail polish)
NARS – Audacious lipstick
Shiseido – eye cream color
Giorgio Armani – foundation(s), eye tint/liquid eye shadow
MAC/Wayne Goss – brushes

I like mid to high end brands, partly due to packaging (I like it to feel weighty or at least substantially housed), partly the look of it, mostly for quality, and probably because growing up it was just bare bones for most things. I will buy pretty much anything and everything from my beloved MAC and even though I’ve been branching out lately, I don’t think I’ll ever have another go-to-for-everything like I do MAC. I stick to certain brands for certain things to streamline it for me. Thanks for using my question, Christine!

Pearl Avatar

Forgot to add:
Kevyn Aucoin – foundation/concealer/Sensual Skin Enhancer, highlighter(s), contour

FYI for anyone wanting to try Kevyn Aucoin’s Sensual Skin Enhancer – camerareadycosmetics.com sells sample sizes of KA SSE for $4.99. The SSE is very pigmented so a little (size of a grain of rice) covers your whole face. Coverage can be sheer to full (you can mix it with moisturizer, facial oil, etc.), finish (luminous, radiant, satin, matte) will depend on what you mix it with, and/or it can be used as a spot concealer also. It was a really inexpensive way to trial the shades and one sample size lasted me about 3.5 months with daily usage for medium coverage. 🙂

Tarte for the Bb tinted primer and Dollface blush, Benefit for Dandelion blush. Skincare: Fresh Seaberry face oil. Neutrogena’s ultra gentle foaming cleanser, Avene, Vichy or LPR sunscreens. I don’t wear eye makeup, not even mascara… I owe several lipsticks that I got for bday gifts from Sephoa, i.e. MUFE, Nars.

Jackie Avatar

Most of my makeup comes from MAC, Tarte, NYX, Colourpop, Maybelline, and Revlon. To a slightly lesser degree, I also have a lot of Lorac, NARS, Wet ‘n Wild, and some Urban Decay, The Balm, and Too Faced.

LaMaitresse Avatar

It’s changed dramatically over the past few years, namely because I found Nars’ formulas have changed significantly in so many of their key product rendering them on my skin so poor I wouldn’t even given them a half star rating! My kit was mostly Nars , Guerlain, CHANEL, it’s now Tom Ford, Guerlain, MUFE, CHANEL, Too Faced. I won’t even bother to try a Nars product any more, and I haven’t been near MAC in about a decade, I know I will end up giving the item to my Mum for her 6 item recycling pile so it’s a waste of make up and money!

Angie Avatar

i tend to keep to a few brand and stick to it. i love mufe, nars, chanel, sensai, and mac so you see a lot of those on my vanity but mostly i just buy what catches my eyes but i’m not too adventurous. sometimes i go wild and buy sisley or cle de peau.
i’m not a big fan of brands like too faced, smashbox, or tarte but own a couple of goodies from them.

i don’t really like drugstore and personally don’t really care if someone calls me a snob for that but if i love it, like colourpop, i own (almost) everything they came up with.

Fran Avatar

IT Cosmetics (especially CC cream, concealer, brushes); Make Up For Ever (especially eyeshadow, brushes); Hourglass (especially primers, powders, blushes, brushes); Urban Decay (especially lipsticks, eye and lip pencils, eye shadows, also brow gel); NARS (especially lipstick, Eye Paints); Kevyn Aucoin (contour and highlight powders); Anastasia (brow powder/gel/cream, and the long-out-of-stock Lash Genius); Laura Mercier (especially lipstick, lip liner); MAC (especially lipstick, lip liner, occasionally eye shadow); recently Bobbi Brown and Tom Ford lipsticks; Inglot gel eyeliner; Kjaer Weis eyeshadows; Wayne Goss brushes; Maybelline and L’Oreal mascara; Kiko cream eyeshadow sticks; Viseart eye shadows; Colour Pop eyeshadows; skin care and cleansers/makeup removers from Paula’s Choice, First Aid Beauty, Clinique, Sephora, CeraVe; lip balm from Fresh, Jack Black, and Burt’s Bees; hair care/styling products from Living Proof, Bumble and Bumble, Ouidad, Pureology, L’Oreal, Elnette. Plus a few other brands, but that’s where most of my beauty spending has gone over the past year. I haven’t been buying as much from Too Faced, Tarte, Benefit, and LORAC as I used to.

Lindsay Avatar

I used to buy mostly Maybelline because I have very sensitive eyes and skin and they were my favorite brand and affordable but they are not cruelty free so I no longer by brands that are not cruelty free so other than that I mostly by bareMinerals, physicians formula ,Milani, Jordana and mostly wet and wild especially your lipsticks and eyeshadows… But I recently tried out their cover all concealers and foundation and I am absolutely in love also with their cover all powder it makes my skin look airbrushed

Candice Avatar

I’m more of a budget girl so I have more Maybelline and NYX and other drugstore priced items overall, but I have and get a lot of use out my Urban Decay eye shadows over any other brand, and Hourglass blushes over any other brand, and MAC lipsticks over any other brand, although I mostly wear balm or sheerer lip products day-to-day.

Urban Decay, Too Faced, My Pretty Zombie, and ColourPop are my main brands. I get eyeshadow palettes and lipstick from UD, eyeshadow palettes and Melted lipsticks from TF. I get loose shadows, pigments, and blushes from MPZ. I get a little bit of everything from ColourPop – Lippie Stix, Lippie Liners, Ultra Mattes, SuperShock shadows, blushes, and highlighters, and eyeliners.

Oh god I’m all over the place. Real techniques and sonia kashuk for my brushes, sugarpill for my eyeshadows, always giorgio armani foundation, always mac concealer, anastasia for brows, urban decay for eyeshadow primer and setting spray, everything else is super random tbh. But when I have money for lip products, first choice is ysl all day long (only real brand loyalty I have lol)

Tracey E. Avatar

I purchase mainly from Bobbi Brown, Charlotte Tilbury, Lancome, and MAC (and brushes from MAC, Bobbi Brown, Charlotte Tilbury and Wayne Goss). I have a CCO close by and a local department store that offers 20% at off 2-3 times a year at Bobbi Brown, Lancome, Chanel, etc. (where I shamelessly use discounted gift cards to get even more ‘off’). This year, I’ve tried 1-2 products from Guerlain, Tom Ford, Dior, Clarins and Chanel as well as brands at Sephora like Hourglass, Too Face, Nars, and Stila. I buy drugstore products from L’Oreal and Maybelline.

Kat Avatar

I’m not really a one brand person, but I do tend to go to certain brands for certain items. Like, I usually tend to go to MAC if I’m looking for a new foundation, since I know my shade and that I’ve had good luck with their foundations in the past, and if I’m looking for a cream eyeshadow I’ll go to ColourPop, if I’m looking for blush I’ll go to Nars or MAC, Makeup Geek for powder eyeshadows. I’ll still branch out into other brands however, pending good reviews, and I love looking for new things. My mom, on the other hand, has almost exclusively Bobbi Brown products. The formulas just tend to work well for her skin type (which has changed a lot in the past few years), and she’s new to makeup and likes a very minimal style and she’s found good products for her there.
