I have enough neutral shadows. The shimmers look nice, and the colors look very wearable, but the mattes look kind of dry and powdery, looks like they will need primer or cream base.
I think I’d really like this if I didn’t already have so many similar palettes. But this looks like it would be a great basic to own, one that would make getting ready for work in the morning a breeze since all the colours are so work appropriate.
I love the warm browns in this one. The swatches looks great. Mine should be here any day now.
Mine arrived today, and I think it’s amazing. Are the colors dupable? Yes, but I needed to expand my mattes collection and I loved the original so much, this one was a no-brainer for me.
My take: The top row is cooler, and I really like the warm rosy and burgundy tones in the other two rows. The texture is as smooth and blendable as the first, and I don’t find these dry at all, more soft and somewhat powdery. It definitely leans more warm than the original. I don’t think it’s as warm or dark as it looks in pictures I’ve seen online. So the browns don’t turn muddy on me. (I’m very fair with neutral undertones.) The shimmers are beautiful and will look great on the eyelids.
The swatches mostly look okay, but seriously ANOTHER warm/neutral palette?! Like there aren’t enough of those (within Tarte, let alone other brands!) already?
I have the original which contains a better balance of warm and cool shadows. This one runs far too warm for my skintones.
I really like the choice of colors and the choice of which colors they made matte and shimmer. It looks like it could be a good palette. I can’t wait to see your full review!
Looks good to me. But. Pretty dupable. Lately though I’ve come to appreciate a well done neutral palette. Excited for the review!
This doesn’t look too bad, but I’ve bought tarte shadows in the past and have found them a bit dry and crumbly. That buttery, smooth, blendable texture found in some others brands just hasn’t been there, so I tend to skip their stuff.
Sadly it is too muddy and brown for me. I wish companies would start making some high quality peach, champagne, and taupe palettes so that all skintones and coloring types can find their perfect neutral palette. There are too many muddy brown, bruised purple/plum, and frozen grey palettes out there with nothing really in between.
You might like some of the shades in the ABH Shadow Couture palette!
Think I just fell in love! Yeah, I know I have a tendency to *seem* a little anti-nudey-naked-neutral palette, but I’m not really. Just that darker, richer shades are more my jam. Then there’s the names of some of these shades! Activist, Rebel, Leader,Firecracker!
It doesn’t seem like the shadows match the name of the palette. It looks like it might be nice for someone who doesn’t have any neutral palettes. Easy pass for me though
Beautiful palette, too bad I am unable to get it. I hope everyone who does get it loves it though.
I love warm browns, so if this does well it might be a buy for me. It’s definitely dupeable, probably from my stash alone, but to have them all together would be wonderful. Naked doesn’t have enough mattes for me, and this one definitely does.
I got really excited when I read “In Bloom” because I thought it would be a nice mix of pinks, greens and purples (maybe even a really pretty, pastel buttercup yellow), then was disappointed to see yet another warm-toned brown eye palette.
Exactly! Not at all what I was expecting!
I love the design of the packaging and the shadows in pan looked really nice to me. Unfortunately it’s a little disappointing seeing the swatches. It seems like just more of the same for me!
Christine, any info about where/when this will be available? I checked the Canadian Sephora site and there’s nothing there. I wonder if this is a Tarte or Ulta exclusive….(I hope not because I’m already starting to cave…)
No idea, Tarte hasn’t replied to my inquiry from about a week or two ago 🙁
I read on Instagram it’ll be in Sephora December 15, so a week or two later than that for us Canadians, probably.
Another warm neutral palette HURRAY! *dripping with sarcasm*
For those waiting to hear about quality before they purchase and got extra curious from the swatches, I’ve got it and it’s the same great quality as the first Tartelette. I could probably have done without a lot of these shades (it is indeed fairly dupeable), but I seem to have accidentally become a big Tarte fan judging by how many of their palettes I’ve ended up with, so I figured what the heck. It’s not as rose-hued as the early early pics implied (which is why I jumped on it, honestly) but it’s still a really nice warm-neutral palette and there is that one rosier line. I was trying to decide whether to keep it, but within the second day of having it I’d already used over half of the shadows, so it stays in my collection. I’m glad I got it. 🙂
I adore this so much, I’m definitely getting this!! Hopefully I can make things work out for me. ;_;
In a word: Boring. The same old – Tarte puts out lots of these kinds of palettes every year.
The mattes look dry and the shimmers are OK. But that’s it.
Correct me if I am wrong, but this looks so similar to Tartelette Palette with a few simmer shadows thrown in.
I’m trying not to be negative, I really am, but it’s hard. Talk about your missed opportunities. The front of this palette is gorgeous, the name so clever. But the shades…. Why didn’t they have the shades match the packaging? Pinks and purples? The market is oversaturated with neutral palettes, many from tarte themselves. They really blew it here and that’s just $45 they won’t be getting from me. Shame. 🙁
Ooohh I really like. Depending on the review I will grab this one. This palette looks chocolate girl friendly. It looks like a better version of the Too Faced Chocolate Bar minus the ashy highlighters. I hate that it has those too huge unusable colors in there.
Color me confused! They could have picked about a million other names for this palette and I’m sure they’d all be just as or more than appropriate than in bloom. Soil Composition….OH! Here’s a better one….” Shades of Amazonian Compost” “Miracle Maracuja Mattes and Tartelette shimmers” I’m just being silly, I really don’t care about the name but In Bloom does conjure up very different expectations. It does seem like a great workday don’t wanna think about it palette. Between my current MJ palette love affair, the ABH self made palette that I haven’t even got to use yet, my UD Gwen Stefani palette that’s on its way (and I said I wasn’t going to buy any eyeshadow palettes this holiday season HA!) and my lust for Naked Smoky this Tarte offering is so far down the list I might actually get to it around the time they clearance it out when it’s d/c’d in a couple years.
I know I don’t NEED a palette like this, but ughhhh, it looks really darn pretty!
Wow what a beautiful palette! Amazing colours, I will definitely go for these glitter shades: funny girl and firecracker 🙂
This looks like a really nice palette.
“in bloom” is weird for a release right before winter starts! This should be coming out in April or May when things actually start to bloom. And you’d also think it would be more rosy-coloured, which I find would still suit Tarte’s neutral wearable make-up line but in a different way than this. Oh well, it looks nice but those colours are really not my thing.
I love the packaging but I will be passing on this palette. I am not a matte lover and I have no idea what I would do with a 75% matte shadow palette. I wish it was at least 50/50 beacuse the packaging is to die for. It would look so pretty on my vanity.
Finally decided to join the Temptalia community thanks to this post. Christine, your photography is beautiful; you make makeup look absolutely irresistible! This palette looks gorgeous.
Welcome, Maayza!!
