We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Quality and creativity. And yes, LE collections spark interest, but if there are too many shoddy ones or recycled colors, I lose interest.
Surprise, Fairy, dream, irresistible colours, great quality.
Guerlain’s Holiday collection is like that. The most beautiful holiday collection of this year. But they didn’t developed the theme deep enough.
The palette should be in the same silver and white packaging like the lipstick. Little brush should be in white.
The gloss should be in a G gloss packaging, I whould buy it if they made it like that.
The white powder, if it’s in a better snowy packaging I may want to get it.
And they should call it Elsa’s collection or the Guerlain Snow Queen collection, lol !
Good quality, good price, colors I like, variety, availability, and good customer service. Bonus points for nice packaging and presentation.
Quality and longevity (long-wear capability). If I find a product that can uphold those two requirements, then I’m likely to repurchase from that brand again.
Good solid reliable quality is a foremost consideration for me. It’ll keep me coming back to a brand.
Accountability is another strong factor. For example, when Bite came out with their LE 01 lipstick, and it was truly bad, they took ownership of their error and reformulated it. That earned them, as a brand, respectability.
Then another strong deal maker, or breaker, is how well a brand addresses diversity. Are they inclusive towards the vast assortment of different skintone, coloring, eye color, shape, etc.? They should be.
And because I’m a little bit artsy and creative, I want them to be innovative and imaginative, too! As long as quality doesn’t suffer, go ahead and give us something new and interesting!
Unique shades and quality formulas. I also like it when brands put thought into their products instead of simply churning out whatever is currently trendy.
You took the words right out of my mouth 🙂
Good performing products and variation. So, if I buy more than one of their eye shadow palette, I don’t wind up with a drawer of all the same thing. I also like a company that puts research into their products and time to develop new things.
I agree with what you’ve said, Christine, but I’d also add that a brand’s products must work well on a woman of my age and station in life without being fussy or old-fashioned. Guerlain, Chanel, Tom Ford, and Clé de Peau are excellent at being fashion-forward without being juvenile.
Consistency and their willingness to listen to their customers. If either of those qualities are lacking I will have no problem spending my money with one that does.
Quality and secondly creativity. Also a proclivity to sophisticated finishes and colors!
Innovation, for sure. And not just reissuing the same products over and over again. Don’t get me wrong, I love MAC’s lipsticks, but it’s hard to get excited when they release three collections in a row with nearly identical red lipsticks. (I also hate their super-limited release gimmick and I refuse to stalk their website just to get the next must-have item before the ebay resellers buy them out.)
Quality is the other big one. I won’t even look at a Dior eyeshadow palette anymore since they’ve had so many major duds.
Consistency in terms of quality. Interesting product output. Ethics. I like LE collections, but only if they’re not constantly putting one after another out, and I hate it when a brand makes a LE collection super hard to get a hold of or really, really temporary. Also a reasonable price for the product. Brands like Tom Ford have never caught my interest simply because they are SOOOO overpriced it’s like they’ve become the 1%.
Excellent quality, my favourite colours of blue, green and gray in eye shadows, satin/slight shimmer finishes, cruelty free, availability and a reasonable price.
I just love your blog and always read the girls’ opinions. I wish we had all this variety of products ️️you have in the US, but unfortunately we don’t.
Thanks God we have MAC, MUFE, NARS, UD and others at Sephora.
Good quality of the products and options are what makes me interested in a brand.
I am interested in all products/brands as long as something catches my eye and it gets good reviews from you, Christine! : )
I like it when you can tell that care has been put into picking colors and making sure that everything is of consistently good quality. Packaging helps too! For this reason I’ve been getting more into indie brands, especially the smaller ones, because they do try to make unique colors and since they don’t mass produce they can’t just keep pumping out lame colors with subpar performance like some of the bigger brands can. (Ahem, Mac…)
Consistent quality and creativity. I have to look for reasonable prices for the most part. Effectiveness of skin products and ease of application in all products.
The brand that make me feel confident n
Consistent quality, bringing out classic and wearable products as well as creative technologies, good price-value rate, no fake celebrity hype, good campaigns.
Quality
The same as you, Christine – oh, and also eye catching, fun packaging and value for money.
Crueltyfree and non irritating to my sensitive eyes and skin, that work well and have long staying power!!
