Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Best beauty retailer for sales? Ulta, with their constant coupons – wish they would be valid on what they call Prestige brands but still.

Best beauty retailer for online shopping? I’d usually say Nordstrom, but they messed up a recent order of mine so bad that I got really upset (first shipment lost, second was sent with next-day delivery and hadn’t even shipped the next day… a that point I cancelled), and they tend to take FOREVER to ship even when things go smoothly. Dermstore is pretty good, shipping/returns are also free and very fast in my experience, but their website is very confusing, it’s hard to find what you’re looking for!

Best beauty retailer for in-store shopping? I really don’t do much in-store shopping at all. In fact I avoid it as much as possible so I can enjoy all the perks that come with online shopping (more GWP, Ebates cashback, not having to deal with bad customer service or wait in line).

♥ Best beauty retailer for sales?
• HauteLook ✴ Buy high-end items at an affordable cost; everyday there’s a sale
• Looxi Beauty ✴ All you need is a coupon code and every purchase feels like a sale
• Frends Beauty ✴ You get 10% off (every purchase, every time!) just for having an account
• Morphe Brushes ✴ There’s always a sale on something

♥ Best beauty retailer for online shopping?
• eBay
❝ I probably buy about 50% of my makeup here. I love the fact that [low] prices vary, and that I can barter the value of the item. ❞

♥ Best beauty retailer for in-store shopping?
• Sephora
❝ I’m only saying Sephora because the Ulta stores are too far away from my home. Sephora wins by default. LOL. But if I lived near a Morphe Brushes store, they would have won, hands down. ❞

Best beauty retailer for sales? I haven’t really found a good one for sales that’s makeup-based. Ulta has some but it’s usually brands like BareMinerals or Philosophy, which I’m not a fan of. I’d say best overall is The Body Shop as they have buy 2 get 1 free, buy 3 get 3 free, etc and the card takes 10% off your purchases (at least for the first year). That’s in addition to their constant different promotions.

Best beauty retailer for online shopping? I prefer Sephora. I’ve had I think 2 issues with online shipping, though one was when I was in Canada so it was Canada Post’s (aka Satan) fault. In both cases they resent the items in the orders promptly.

Best beauty retailer for in-store shopping? I like a lot. Sephora is good because I can swatch things, and so is Nordstrom. Lush is big on letting you try out things and giving samples, as is The Body Shop. Kiehl’s, depending on the one you go to, has fantastic in-store customer service, as does the Origins store I go to.

Best beauty retailer for sales? Ulta (even though I hate their website and my closest store is awful), Sephora, Urban Decay.
Best beauty retailer for online shopping? Sephora, LUSH, Urban Decay, a lot of indie brands have good websites and/or well organized etsy pages.
Best beauty retailer for in-store shopping? Sephora, LUSH

Best beauty retailer for sales? The really good stuff is NEVER on sale, but for the DS brands – Priceline, Chemist Warehouse and Target Australia. We don’t have anything like Ulta here.
Online shopping: Cosmetics Now (Australian online cosmetics company), ebay – although the international shipping costs can be high; OzSales
Beauty Retailer for in store shopping: Some products you just need to check out the shades yourself – so Priceline, Myer, Mecca Maxima Cosmetics – only a few locations but they do have UD, bareMinerals and a few of the brands that are discussed here.

Best beauty retailer for sales? I usually check Ulta first since I love how the points convert to $$ off. Also, I don’t need special codes for GWP, I just pick what I want and gifts are included.

Best beauty retailer for online shopping? Again, Ulta for reasons stated above. I love that I can pick products from 3 brands that have GWP and get all of the gifts without giving anything up (I’m looking at you Sephora – your points/codes program is a rip off). I also check the online rebate programs like ebates. If I can get better savings up front, I’ll shop somewhere else.

Best beauty retailer for in-store shopping? I used to go to Sephora to swatch things I couldn’t find at Ulta, but now I’ll look for a department store counter instead. The personnel are usually more knowledgeable about the products and better at color matching.

Best beauty retailer for sales?
That’s a hard one. I like to buy most things online. One website I really like is Escentual.com. Often you’ll find that they are slightly cheaper than other sites.

Best beauty retailer for online shopping?
There are lots that I like. The big department stores like John Lewis and House of Fraser are good as are Escentual.com and BeautyBay.com. I have used Sephora once, which was OK but very expensive!

Best beauty retailer for in-store shopping?
Where I live the best ones are House of Fraser and John Lewis, and although I’m not a big fan of Space NK I do go there as they have brands that the others don’t have!

Best beauty retailer for sales? I like Macy’s sometimes, Nordstrom..theres not many.

Best beauty retailer for online shopping? Sephora mainly, otherwise, any parent company of a brand, some indie brands, etc..

Best beauty retailer for in-store shopping? I hardly ever, seeing as how I’m a home body and don’t have the time to shop in store. I guess Sephora and Ulta, but they’re at least a 30 min drive from me. They’re always crowded and I always feel slightly judged, as everyone assumes I have no idea what I’m looking at/for…

Best beauty retailer for sales? I like Ulta for their Nyx, Real Techniques, and Eco Tools deals. I can’t think of other stores atm.

Best beauty retailer for online shopping? Sephora because I like the samples and their shipping is always fast

Best beauty retailer for in-store shopping? Ulta again, because I like that they have high and low end in one place. It’s where I always go for the already mentioned brands, plus I like that their points system is in money savings instead of like Sephora’s perks.

Best beauty retailer for sales? Ulta. Love the coupons (even despite the $3.50 ones not being able to be used on luxury beauty). They have tons of free items with purchase and their 21 days of beauty sales are legit.
Best beauty retailer for online shopping? Sephora. If I didn’t want to see/swatch things in person, I would shop strictly online for Sephora items. Plus their 3 free samples and super quick shipping make me so happy!!!
Best beauty retailer for in-store shopping? Macy’s. Love the mix of indie brands and luxury ones. The flagship store on 34th in NYC has been my go to store forever.

Best beauty retailer for in-store shopping? The Bay, Sephora, Murale or Shopper’s Drug Mart. It all depends on what you are wanting and where you live in Canada.
