I definitely love the neutrogena. I got to try a sample of Lancome bi-facil, and I feel they are the exact same product. Neutrogena is so much cheaper so I will stick with that.

Lancome Bi Facil!!

Some Ideas for future weeks:
base coat
cuticle remover
hand cream
lip balm
hair spray
eyeliner/ lipliner sharpener

There aren’t a lot of MAC products that make my top ten list, but I confess to adoring Cleanse Off Oil. It will remove ANYTHING in one go and doesn’t do anything terrifying to my skin.

Paty Avatar

Hands down, Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover. It’s cheap, gets the job done, gentle, easy to use, no oily residues. I’m in love. Hey, it even removes that stubborn black gel liner from Coastal Scents…

sara Avatar

My best eye makeup remover is….jojoba oil!
I love it because it is gentle on the skin, nourishes and removes quickly and effectively and even waterproof makeup….and it’s very cheap 😉

HebrideanSprite Avatar

Nivea eye makeup remover cream- doesn’t sting eyes, you need hardly any, its cheap and the company doesn’t test on animals. All in all perfect!

Kaylynrenee Avatar

Okay, I just love you Christine. THANK YOU for asking this!!

I’m still in the market for my HG eye makeup remover but so far I’ve tried and actually repurchased Clinique’s Naturally Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. On one hand, I love that it’s creamy as it feels good to have that cushion when working with such a delecate area, but on the other hand, it’s messy! Effective, but messy.

I’m currently using the Mary Kay eye makeup remover. Meh…

Mariah Avatar

I love Clinique’s Take the Day Off. It’s one of the more pricey options, but I wear about as much makeup as you, so you know how hard it can be to remove at the end of the day. (Plus, you don’t have to use much) And I am REALLY impatient when it comes to getting ready for bed (probably because I wait until I am pooped to get ready) so anything fast = good! Plus, it’ll take off anything! Those Mac ProLongwears? Instantly removed! (Yes, use it on lips if you have to!!) Anything that is hard to remove, I try the Take the Day Off and it usually works!

marisa Avatar

MUFE sens’eyes! removes any and all makeup, including waterproof, doesn’t sting my sensitive skin, AND leaves zero residue or oil behind! and you only need a drop, so one bottle lasts about 6 months. i’m in love with it!

Patty Avatar

Clinique Take The Day Off cleansing balm. I have oily skin, so it sounded horrible, but I took a leap of faith and ended up finding my HG remover. Gets EVERYTHING off and I never wake up with raccoon eyes from the stuff left behind by the removers you shake up.

happybadfish Avatar

“Gentle Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover” by Nivea. I have been using it for over 10 years. It get it all off in one swipe without pulling and rubbing! Love it!

Beck Avatar

The best eye makeup remover I have used is MAC’s Cleanse Off Oil. It throughly removes my heaviest mascara, eyeliner and shadows effortlessly.
It also conditions the skin, and because the texture is so smooth and slick it does not cause any tugging on the delicate eye area like some other removers.Plus it has no mineral oil. I bought Bliss’s eye makeup remover which they market as the “best eye makeup remover in the world”. I did not think it was that great, it does have nice cooling properties but the gloopy gel texture was hard to work with and it did not take my makeup off every easily.
My vote goes to MAC cleanse off oil. I have not tried the blue Lancome one in a long time I forgot it if is good or not.

Alisha in WI Avatar

Benefit’s gees that was quick. It’s the best oil free one I have tried but it’s kind of expensive though so I’m on the lookout for a new one.

Connie Avatar

Lancome Bi-facial hands down. I don’t get that nasty oil residue left on my eyes, doesn’t sting, and removes everything. Love it.

Tracey Avatar

I’ve tried baby oil too, but my only problem with that is my eyes are so oily the next morning that my eyeliner won’t go on properly….or stay on. I’m still searching for the best eye makeup remover.

Jenna P Avatar

Baby oil! it gets rid of my waterproof mascara like nothing else can. And it makes my eyes look and feel moisturized 🙂 But I only use it on my eye area not the rest of my face because I’m scared it might clog pores.

konconsc Avatar

I love my loreal eye makeup remover the most..the two layers one..
i tried lancome, clean and clear, clinique, mac and many other brands, nothing compares to loreal.

Christina Avatar

Definitely the Clean and Clear products. I love the Make up dissolving foaming cleanser as well as their wipes.

I don’t care for the MAC wipes, believe it or not, way too greasy and I don’t like the smell. I wasn’t crazy about the Neutrogena wipes either, however I recently tried the oil-free ones and they are fantastic.

Ultra Bland by LUSH is the only thing I can use to remove eye makeup anymore. I used to use Clinque Take the Day Off and then Sonja Kashuk’s purple stuff (similar to the Clinique formula) but now they make the skin around my eyes tender. The drawback to Ultra Bland is that it is an oil and it needs to either be taken off with their toner or very hot water. For those with oily skin, it could be an issue. My skin is like the Sahara . . . so, it works for me.

StellarStace Avatar

Kiehl’s extremely gentle eye makeup remover! My skin is sensitive and I wear contacts…this is the only kind that I’ve tried that doesn’t irritate my eyes or the skin in that area. And Kiehl’s has a recycling program too, which is nice.

Rajinder Avatar

I agree Kiehl’s gentle eye make-up remover is the best on the market for sensitive eyes – not ideal when you are budgeting though. The best all rounder is No7 eye make-up remover (and I’m not a fan of No7 products.) WORST PRODUCT: Simple eye make-up remover – which the Sunday Times listed as the best one for doing the job – it burns my eyes and gives me headaches.

Wendy Avatar

I love Clinique’s!
I used to have a sample-sized bottle of Take the Day Off make up remover for lids, lashes and lips and I loved it!
I also loved how it isn’t the oily kind.
A shame I ran out and have a bottle of the oily kind…

Jocelyn W Avatar

Lancome’s bi facil is the Best eye makeup remover but I use Shu Uemura’s Cleansing Oil because it’s an overall better, milder. One drawback to the shu uemura is that it’s oil based (don’t worry it doesn’t make you break out) but you REALLY have to scrub it off properly (as you should it all makeup removers)

Carmen Avatar

I really like cleansing oils. I used to use jojoba oil + Olay Daily Facials for stubborn mascara, but I like cleansing oils much more, they’re so much faster to use and gentle on my eyes as well.

Julie Avatar

I LOVE The Body Shop’s Chamomile Eye make-up remover. It’s not greasy and doesn’t sting your eyes or make your vision blurry. Only drawback is that its a bit pricey (8.4 oz for about $16, I believe) – but totally worth it!

Annette Avatar

I recently found the Chanel Biphase eye makeup remover, and it is the best I have used in years. No eye irritation, no makeup residue. It’s amazing!

whitney Avatar

I wear waterproof mascara everyday because I found my HG mascara is Dior Blackout Waterproof. The two best products are 1: DHC cleansing oil. Its $25 a bottle and completely removes the mascara without needing to rub hard. 2: Ponds cold cream, the only draw back is the need to rub my eye area hard to remove the cold cream, and it permanently stains the washcloth you use to remove the makeup. I have also used Shieshido cleaning oil, the yellow one, and it works almost as good as DHC but I need to use it twice to get it all off and then the $28 bottle doesnt last as long. Also Sonia K at target makes a great $9 eyemakeup remover (yes its oil based) and if you want to go real cheap olive oil or vegetable oil work great in a pinch for waterproof mascara.

Tracy Avatar

I like Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover. It never stings and takes off everything. I try other ones from time to time and find them too oily or they sting. I always come back to this one.

Stephanie Avatar

Clinique’s Take the Day Off!!! It’s oil-free, silicon based and gets everything off – waterproof mascara, fluidline, etc. LOVES it!

Bridgette Avatar

Hands down Clean & Clear’s Eye Make Up Remover (The purple bottle)! I don’t know if it is me though but it seems I can’t find this at my Target or Wal Mart, ULTA is the only place where I can find it.

Joanna Avatar

well, Ive only used lancome’s bi-facil eye makeup remover before and while it’s pretty good on all my other waterproof makeup, I find it slightly harder to remove my anna sui waterproof mascara

Huong Avatar

I’m using The Face Shop eye m.u remover for sensitive eyes and it’s pretty good, it’s oil-free and alcohol-free so really gentle but does the job well (I dont wear mascara though).

I have MILIA so everything put on my face must be oil-free! I’d be so thankful if you make some “hit lists” about best oil-free makeup and skincare products Christine 😀
eg concealer, foundation, moisturizer, eye cream etc

Ally Avatar

shu uemura cleansing oils – hands down. i tried everything and a lot of the removers irritated my sensitive lenses wearing eyes. i had to spend a lot of time massaging the products into the lashes and sometimes get the blurry visions from top brands like Lancome. now i’m saved 🙂

Kerry Avatar

ive only ever tried a few but atm im using boots no 7 cleanse and care eye makeup remover and really like it 🙂 its so gentle and doesnt sting my eyes at all 🙂

Fanta Avatar

I love the Neutrogena oil free remover!! It is very sensitive and it does not irritate the eyes. I also love baby wipes; cheap, but very effective!!!

Anne Avatar

Another vote for Clinique’s Take the Day Off. I use it first for my eye makeup, then whatever I can get of the rest.

I also love Clean & Clear’s Makeup Dissolving Cleanser (purple pump bottle) for any makeup except for the eyes. As someone else mentioned, though, it can be hard to find.

Heidi Avatar

Make Up Forever Sens Eyes! My #1 favorite, doesn’t irritate my very sensitive eyes and will remove everything!

Previously I’ve used Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm and MAC Gently Off Eye/Lip. I’d get the MAC remover again for a mix-up liquid cleanser.

Amy Avatar

I absolutely love BalmsAway The Make up Break Up by TheBalm. I suppose noone has really tried it, because I never hear anything about it. I have sensitive skin & eyes and this stuff get rid of all of my eye make-up and then I just use a MAC wipe to remove my face make-up. 🙂

Hannah Avatar

its not really a makeup remover but I love LUSH baby face!
i warm it up slightly and just rub the whole bar over my face and smooth EVERYWHERE! It is pretty much just oil and that can scare some people and can cause breakouts (I have very oily skin), but I just rinse as much as I can off then wash my face with the clinique bar face wash…erm, thing? Yeah, but that removes ALL excess oil and my face is makeup free!
Its super gentle too 🙂

ChauDM Avatar

The best, the HG eye make up remover for me is definitely Lancome bi-facial !!!!! Works wonderful, feeling no greasy at all !! My 2nd best choice would be the balm from Clinique, and then the 3rd best would be eye make up remover from Clinique

Claire M Avatar

SO many people have gone with Clinique Take the Day Off. I have used it in the past and actually found out that I prefer Loreal’s two-phase remover(the blue one) It’s much cheaper and, I’ve found, quicker. I would highly recommend!

Stephanie Avatar

I always wear waterproof mascara and good ol’ fashion cold cream has never failed me. I just gently rub it into my lashes and wipe it off.

jaine Avatar

BABY OIL. It’s the best thing to take off tough water proof eye make up. Buy a big bottle for a few bucks and don’t spend money on eye make up remover for a year. Awesome.

And it doesn’t break me out, as I thought it would. But as with any eye make up remover that has oil in it, you just have to be careful and remove all of it from your face when you’re done.

Vrushali Avatar

Johnson’s aloe vera baby gel. I am a budget babe and this does the job so well and is affordable too. I have tried more expensive products before but the baby gel gives me comparable results. Besides, alovera is good for reducing under-eye dark circles and puffiness.

Li Ming Avatar

Green Beaver Eye Makeup Remover (Canada)
Gentle, does the job beautifully (even with waterproof mascara!!) and made with natural ingredients.
And really affordable. Because it is like a lotion, your cotton pad does not end up soaking up alot of the product!

Best Drugstore: Neutrogena oil-free or Rimmel

for Travel I love bringing MAC makeup removing wipes. I’ll need to pick up a pack for my next trip!

monika-luiza Avatar

biodermas h2o sensibio. it’s a non-rinse make-up remover my derm recommended me because my skin is to dry for the water in my area and i should use this instead of washing my face. after I bought it and found out that many makeup artists use it as an eye-make up remover. and what can i say, this stuff is AMAZING!!!

can't resist! Avatar

caudalie’s cleansing water, its incredibly gentle and hydrating, nothing to clog pores, no chemicals, no eye irritation, leaves skin extra soft

SiMo Avatar

Absolutely the cleans off oil from MAC. You massage it on the skin with the fingers and then rinse off. The make-up dissolves easily and the skin isn’t hurted.

rachel Avatar

garnier simply essentials comforting cleansing milk is great – really cheap ,fragrance free no alcohol or colours and is really effective. can be used all over face but i just use it for eye makeup removal

Charlene alvarez Avatar

Looking for a reasonably price eye make up remover. I like the Clinique choice, but it is a bit expensive for a product I use everyday. Looking for your recommendations. Thank you.
