Want but can’t afford it right now. lol
This looks like a wonderful set to own. I wish I could justify buying it. But, I can’t I own several of these individually. The #1 really has my attention though. I hope that he starts selling an updated version individually. I remember looking at his #1before and a lot of the reviews said it was to small. So, I passed.
I got this set as well as a couple individual brushes and I am very happy with my brushes, really I use a few of these daily and love them, BUT I’m kind of “over” Wayne Goss as far as hype and excitement for his brand goes.
I’m glad they made #1 bigger, that brush was tiny and I still don’t know what I should use it for to this day. #3 is my go-to for blending concealer over blemishes or discoloration in small areas, I love how soft it is, it blends without taking the product with it.
Right here right now if I didn’t have the brushes but I knew how they perform I’d purchase indivitually #2, #3, the big powder brush from the other line, as well as that taller less dense brush (#14) which I love for products I find too pigmented. It’s makes products so easy to use, I don’t go clownish lol.
I got the #1 in a Beautylish Lucky Box last year and while I thought it was terrible for foundation (too small, streaky and sucked up all the product into the bristles), I have found that it is great for applying and blending out cream highlighters, like Benefit’s Watt’s Up or ColourPop’s cream/powder hybrid formula.
I don’t own any cream highlighters but I should give it a go on some cream blushes! They aren’t my go-to formula but maybe with the perfect brush they’d become more well-loved!
Thanks for the tip!!
Just ordered! I feel like I was able to justify the cost by doing the 3 payments (haha my poor wallet). After getting the Beautylish x Chikuhodo brushes I’ve really come to appreciate well made brushes and I’ve always wanted to try Wayne Goss; hopefully these will be a success! 🙂
Lorrin, How did the Wayne Goss brushes compared to the Chikuhodo brushes?
Thanks!
This quickly moved to the top of my Christmas list as I’ve come to appreciate higher quality brushes and wanted to ‘fill in’ with brushes that I don’t have or would like more than one of a certain type of brush. I own Wayne Goss’ fan brush, which I adore, and the general purpose #13 brush. The larger #1 brush is what I was looking for and spares me from waiting for Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Complexion Brush to ever be released. I was also considering Tom Ford’s cream face brush but the #1 should do. Since Goss’ bushes are rumoured to be made by Hakuhodo, I feel I’m getting a high value product for the reasonable price (and the Hakuhodo website overwhelmed me by the sheer amount of choice). I researched a lot of reviews, posed a question or two, and bought the set. I love the two Goss brushes I have and can’t wait to have more.
These I know, have really wonderful quality, but at $225, they are way out of my range. Maybe one day, but not at this time. I pretty much have a $100 limit for any one item or set in my mind.
I’d really love to get this set but I can’t spend that kind of money right now. Hoping Santa knows I’ve been nice this year!
Beautiful set and I would love to get it, however I can’t justify it with the exchange rate being poor right now.
I hear so many great things about these brushes. I can’t afford this set right now, unfortunately.
Wonderful, but I’m sure it’s insanely expensive!
I would love to have this and did sign up for the presale but I just can’t afford them. I bought the MJ palette ( in love ) and thankfully came to my senses before I bought this too. Holiday season….better to give than receive….right? RIGHT?!? Lol
It’s kinda tempting, given all I’ve read about the brushes. But:
A) I prefer synthetic; and
B) It really, really irks me that there is no longer a UK distributor for a product designed by a UK-based makeup artist, so whilst Beautylish wouldn’t charge shipping for an international purchase this large, I would have to pay import/customs fees. That irritates me sufficiently that I’ll never buy them if they aren’t being offered for sale in the UK. (Love Makeup carried them when they first launched, and then Wayne must have made some exclusive deal with Beautylish because they disappeared.)
As a set, it is like paying $28 per brush. Better than paying for them individually and they are indeed animal hair, well worth the price. The price doesn’t bother me much although I would have to agree that it is steep for brushes; however, I can not get over the fact that they are animal hair. Although it is said that it is “Cruelty Free”, I have to disagree. Waiting for an animal to shed or brush each one of their fur to then collect it for these brushes is time consuming. Wayne is not present where the brushes are being made; therefore, these creatures may be breed constantly and sacrificed for these brushes. I would love these brushes, but can not live with myself knowing I supported possible animal cruelty. I do not want to start a debate, just giving my opinion on how I really feel for the brushes.
I agree with you completely; a life is much more valuable than any brush or cosmetic. I am a massive brush lover but I have never felt a lack from synthetic brushes.
I already own the #4 and #6 brushes and they are very nice. However, I hate prepared sets and prefer to order individual brushes I know I’ll use. I can’t see myself paying $225 for brushes # 2, 5, 7 & 8. For my bday and Christmas I go directly to Hakuhodo and order my preferred brushes. Cut out the middle man and the pink printing and save myself some money. Love ya Wayne, but no.
Hopefully he re-releases the new #1 brush separately. I already have the Collection and can’t justify another purchase of this set.
Same here. I bought the original collection when it first launched 2 or so years ago. I definitely resent being unable to buy the 2 revamped brushes individually. It seems like they’re ignoring past customers, to an extent, because I don’t need duplicates of 6 out of 8 brushes. So whack!
I’m still debating on whether or not I want this set. I’m really upset about the change to the #5 brush as it has been my favorite. I use it every time I do my make up. Looks like I need to take extra-special care of it until I find a dupe for it elsewhere. I can’t remember… does Temptalia have dupe for brushes? I’m way too sleepy to research this right now. (I’ve been awake all night. Time for me to get some sleep!)
Bought it during early access! Beautylish had a payment plan of 3 payments, which was great instead of depleting my bank account of the entire amount right away haha. The package just arrived, and I am in loooove. I’ve been wanting Wayne Goss brushes for a while now. Hooray!
The 1 brush definitely needed to be revamped. It just never worked well for me. I like the original 5 brush but the new one looks promising. The 6 is my favorite brush. I will be skipping the set though, since I bought the original.
I must say I have quite a few of these brushes and they are wonderful my go to brushes espically the # 2 they are no more expensive than other high end ones, I do agree the foundation brush is a bust in both sizes I prefer a beauty blender for creams and liquid.wayne should release these individually to give consideration to those of us who already have others of his and buying the set doesn’t really save you any money
