Dolce & Gabbana: The Brush Collection for Summer 2010

Dolce & Gabbana presents The Brush Collection: the accessory line up created by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana to enrich The Make Up line.  The Make Up captures a sense of mystery and a touch of magic to create a look that’s sophisticated, sensual and always exquisite.

Dolce & Gabbana translates two decades of a straight-from-the-runway beauty, into a palette of colours and textures that’s discreetly dramatic and divinely distinctive. The colour range, both vivid and nuanced, reflects the Designers’ singular spirit of romance, revolution and risk. A signature sensibility joins a dynamic aesthetic to create a collection of new modern classics that enhance and entrance.

The Brush Collection, the inaugural accessory collection from The Make Up, is conceived for the woman who is passionate about perfection, performance, and play. An exceptional line of professional quality tools to assure a flawless precision, effortless application, and implement a polished finish for endless glamour.

The Brush Collection

A selection of five professional quality brushes define, highlight and refine… with a luxuriant touch that caresses the skin. Soft sculpted and succinct, the brushes are designed with well-considered detail and engineered ergonomically for optimal application. Each brush is an object of seamless eloquence in rich matte black and shimmering gold, crafted from the highest quality materials using only the finest natural hair; Goat AAA for the face and for the eyes and Sable for the lips. The Dolce & Gabbana emblem is delicately engraved in elegant gold lettering along the stem of each brush.

The Powder Brush ($55.00)

An all-purpose brush that glides soft and sensual against the skin for meticulous coverage. It provides a smooth even finish with a full dome shape assembled of sumptuous natural bristles, designed for applying pressed powder, loose powder and bronzing powder.

The Blush Brush ($48.00)

Boasts a gentle touch that feels magical. This brush is specially designed to impart the perfect amount of colour for even application. The semi-full dome shape of the feathery-soft bristles is tapered to highlight, shade and define features with accuracy.

The Eyeshading Brush ($30.00)

A slim stem with natural bristles gathered at the base, tapering slightly at the tip. Perfect for sweeping a single shade from brow to lid or for blending two or more shades with ease.

The Blending Brush ($32.00)

A delicate eye brush for blending shadows with precision. The soft, natural bristles are springy and full to contour the lids, layer intense colour or to define and refine explicitly.

The Retractable Lip Brush ($29.00)

A revolutionary tool for superior lip colour application. The tapered edge creates a pliable tip for unerring control to form the perfect pout. A retractable mechanism with a lid allows for portability and versatility… slip in a purse or pocket.

Pat McGrath on The Brush Collection

In an invaluable collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana, superstar make up artist, Pat McGrath lends her immeasurable backstage experience and unrivalled expertise to the design and development of The Brush Collection. “As a professional I know that the quality of make-up tools are just as important as the quality of the make-up, if not more so, “says McGrath. “Our goal was to create tools for a beauty ritual that’s effective, effortless and luxurious – and for each brush to exist as beautiful object in itself. It was very rewarding to help develop these remarkable brushes; they’re the perfect tools for delivering a polished perfected look that every woman can easily achieve”.

I used to be a designer-clothes NUT… and I have to say that I don’t think I’d ever use a makeup brush by a fashion house like Dolce & Gabbana. Gucci, D&G, Prada, Issey Miyake, etc… No amount of money that they spend on clothing goes into function or comfort. It’s all fashion.

I’m not sayin I don’t still love ’em all (Tom Ford’s “Happy birthday, Dusty” autograph is still hanging on my wall 😉 but I wouldn’t spend money on their brushes without expecting them to shed and fall apart within a year. They may be the BEST brushes in ALL THE LAND… but I’d be shocked if they were.

Is there a baby chick around because all I hear is cheap cheap cheap cheap…………………..

Come on D&G you KNOW these look like crap. And I bet Pat McGrath helped them with this. I feel a little insulted that they would think people would accept these as o.k. and go ahead with production.

Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised.

Uh, it looks scratchy in the photo??!! Why would I buy these for that much when I can buy from Sephora or MAC’s superior brushes for MUCH less? Now I can justify buying from these two, haha. I use taklon LIP brush I bought from coastal scents and a fine hair LIP brush from NYX, they work perfect.
