Dolce & Gabbana take cues from its vivid past to transport the present and to determine the future. Introducing the Midnight Bloom Collection: modern dreams of beauty classics that surprise and seduce. Echoing the 2010 Spring/Summer runway collection, Midnight Bloom evokes the Sicilian heritage of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, highlighting the exquisite floral prints that embody the erotic eloquence of Sicily’s traditional wild roses and their delicate nuances. A renewed emphasis on the seductive flavor of the Mediterranean as Hollywood’s siren screen glamour momentarily steps aside. “Summer has such an intense duality. The intimacy and rapture of the night, and the joy of each new day. More specifically, we wanted to recreate the dramatic duality of the wild roses’ delicate shades against the Sicilian night’s daring shades of romance and mystery,” says Domenico Dolce, “There’s such an explosion of colour,” adds Stefano Gabbana, “with the wild roses carpeting the landscape against the drama of the seascape.” The result: a look that’s dreamy and enigmatic yet portrays a lucidity that captures the moment where summer’s shimmering daylight dims and the dark romance of its endless nights begin. Midnight Bloom explores the kaleidoscopic colour of Sicily with a select range of tones from blue greensechoing the vivid Mediterranean to intimate nudes, rich neutrals and delicate pinks shimmering softly with the tender grace of the wild roses. The look is a particularly sensual glamour that simmers softly yet definitively and sneaks up gradually yet powerfully.
A Key Look
Innovative make up artist Pat McGrath creates another look like no other in collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana. Brilliant new shades transform collection classics, bringing intense levels of contrast and an aura that’s fresh and sexy, a mood that’s mercurial. The look captures the ephemeral light of summer skimming the sea at dusk; it is light-imbued, ceaselessly sensual and purely natural. Washes of warmth join icy cool; it’s a smoldering sexy with the phantom glow of a summer evening’s mystery. Spotlight on devilishly sexy eyes illuminated in blue-green Laguna, a new eyeshadow duo, etched and defined with a sleek line of shine in Blue, a new shade of the eyeliner. Black mascara further highlights the eyes. Lush lips pout in pale pink Delicate, a new shine lipstick, with a glint of Delicious lipgloss to enhance and entrance. A new blush in Tan transforms the flush of summer sun. Nail lacquer in classic nude completes the look. “Summer is when you need to focus on a very natural, seriously sensual beauty. With this collection, we also wanted to add some frisson, capture the dark side, so to speak; create a mood, a look that captures a late summer night’s magic,” says Pat McGrath. “It had to be all about the eyes; with these vivid blues and greens, the eyes are so deep-the ultimate sexy, extremely erotic-especially against the almost imperceptible yet radiant wild rose tones of the lips and the skin.”

Wow! Now this is a D&G collection that’s calling me! My wallet is gonna hate me this summer!!!
Those are some bold, beautiful colors! Kudos to D&G!
Those eyeshadows are soooo pretty! I want the quad and duo!
pretty collection… sad… my makeup budget is going down… since baby is on the way… so it’s a good reason =O)
Oh man, that eyeshadow quad looks glorious!!
don;t know about colours. how could youwear them? i would need to see them applied but that bright green doesn’t really do it for me.
I love the lipsticks and glosses but they have a very overpowering rose scent! Its gross. Why rose? I just don’t get it! Besides that I love the colors.
What is the color pay off like with the D&G eyeshadows? I also just wanted to say you are da bomb Christine and thank you for this website. You truly are a blessing!
I’ve always had pretty good pay off with D&G shadows!
Thanks, Arlene!
