Guerlain Parure Gold, Guerlain Ginny or Gillian lipstick, Tom Ford Love Lust blush, Sephora Flirting Game eyeliner, a neutral eye (nothing in particular that I’d go to, something brightening with some depth).
Thanks to Maggie for today’s questions! Do you have a question idea? Submit yours here.
First and foremost; a foundation that doesn’t leave a white cast would be in order! Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation? MAC Studio Fix Liquid? Idk?
Brows on fleek, a warm neutral pin-up cut-crease eye look with winged cat-eye liner, mascara, a bit of WnW Reserve Your Cabana to set foundation, with MAC Burnt Pepper for blush and VG I lipstick=Divine.
Dior airflash foundation, makeup forever hydrating primer, dior show mascara, bobbi brown long wear eye base, mac cranberry, tom ford eye defining pen, charlotte tilbury lip cheat liner in pillowtalk, mac whirl lip liner and lipstick, becca liquid shimmering skin perfector in pearl, dior cheek blush stick in cosmopolite rosewood, and estee lauder bronze goddess
Face: NARS sheer glow or my homemade frankenfoundation, Too Faced blush in Baby Love, MAC beauty powder in Sunsparked Pearl
Lips: Dior Mayday, NARS Rita, or Bobbi Brown Orange (which is actually a red-orange, but anyway) — depending on clothing choice
Eyes: Stila Wheat + original UD Naked Basics, Kat von D Tattoo liner, good solid coat of Diorshow Blackout
• Lips: YSL Rouge Volupté Shine or MAC lipstick – “I prefer long-lasting, statement lips as a look”
• Eyes (1): MAC Eyeshadows and Black Chromaline – “MAC’s e/s and chromaline does not move! A neutral lid, for me.”
• Eyes (2): Red Cherry’s Eyelashes in #WSP or #43 – “Very girly and eye-opening lashes; not over-the-top.”
• Face: Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24-Hr Foundation – “My perfect, flawless foundation.”
• Cheeks: MAC Pro Blush – “Just a light flush of color, with staying power.”
• Highlight: MAC MSF or Chanel Camélia De Plumes – “Either or photographs beautifully.”
“And last, but not least…”
• Primer : Milk of Magnesia – “My oily skin doesn’t care where I am. It’s always going to be turned up, and I have to shut that grease down!”
MAC: Studio Sculpt, Mineralize Concealer, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish, Prep and Prime 24 Hour Eye Primer, Until Dawn #1 lid, Wedge transition, Until Dawn #2 crease, sketch outer v, Blushbaby, Prep and Prime lip primer, Morning Coffee lipliner, Viva Glam V1 lipstick, Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder (under eye), Guerlain Meterorites to set. 🙂
I just try to look like myself but nicer. No crazy looks. NARS TM, Armani Blush in #2, NARS RCC, L’Oreal Voluminous, Stila Kitten, Black Eyeliner (prob Benefit), and either Fresh Berry alone or over a Revlon Balm Stain for a little more oomph.
For a portrait, I would forego anything too dating or overly-dramatic, and stick with a more classic look.
After skincare and primer, I would wear my Bobbi Brown Skin Stick Foundation in Alabaster, as it has great coverage, is a perfect match for my skin, and gives me a pretty, natural glow. Gerlain Meteorites pressed powder in Mythic because it looks fabulous. I’d forego HD Powder because it looks white with flash photography.
I’d contour slightly more heavily than usual, because I have a round face that doesn’t show a lot of dimension in photos. I’d use Sephora Tranquil, and a little bit of Notoriously Morbid Necromancy for more depth in spots. I’d highlight with City Color Cosmetics Intense Exposure Highlighting Powder because it’s a good color match and glows but doesn’t sparkle.
Too Faced Shadow Insurance, so my eye makeup stays put and doesn’t crease. I’d put Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Beige on my lids, with UD Foxy on top. I’d continue with the Naked Basics palette, using WOS as a transition, Naked 2 in the crease, and Venus as a browbone highlight. I’d use the City Color highlighter on the inner corners. Line with Tarte Clay Pot liner in Brown. L’oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Highlighter on the waterline to brighten my eyes. I’d curl my lashes and finish with two coats of Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara for super length.
I think bright corals are really flattering on me, so I’d use Milani Rose Blush in Coral Cove on my cheeks. Then I’d spray e.l.f. Mist & Set to set everything and make sure I didn’t have any powdery looking spots. I’d finish with MAC La Vie En Rouge on my lips.
For myself, if its not for a specific theme I’d choose warm colors like brown, pink or orange or a brown smokey eye with a browny pink lip or for a little drama a warm red lip. if its for a winter theme i’d go cool toned with gray or purples and a deeper wing. i’d also probably go with a traditional cream lipstick rather than a liquid or matte lipstick. and of course my loreal infallible pro matte! dont want extra shine!
Does botox , brow lift , and neck lift count 🙂
My choice of makeup would depend on the clothing I am wearing which would probably be something soft and pastel – probably linen. My makeup would be soft as well.
I would use my normal makeup routine – Rimmel Match Perfection foundation, blush, eye brow pencil, Clinique Black Honey mascara. Depending on what I am wearing would determine my eye shadow and lip colours. I would go for a bold lip – Maybelline Divine Wine or a Milani bronze lipstick.
Mac studiofix powder. I’ve used this for yrs at photoshoots and it has never let me down. It makes my skin look porcelain doll amazing in photos. Everything else is avariable. Mascara: Currently I’d use loreal manga rock (waterproof version) mascara in blackest black for that open eyed anime feel and no smudging. Eyeliner: Urban Decay Demolition (liquid liner) because it stays put. Blush: Something with a punch of color in order for it to show up on camera. Mac Bred for Beauty, Kat Von D Por Vida, or Tarte Tipsy (powder). Lips: depends on the day, but I like Nyx indie flick or another bold super matte shade (great for extending the lip line without liner).
I would wear my normal makeup which photographs well. The most important parts are primer, EL Double Wear light foundation, and Coty Airspun powder. I hate having greasy-looking shiny skin in photos, and this combo ensures that I don’t.
Definitely Williamspro zeropowder HD setting powder. Makes skin photograph better. I’m a makeup artist and I swear by it for my shoots.
I’d go for a natural, no makeup look using the following:
Foundation: Sephora Microsmooth Powder Foundation
Eyeliner: UD 24/7 E/L in Whiskey
Brows: NYX Black E/S
Blush: Rock & Republic Shameless
Lips: MUFE Rouge Artist Natural in N9 with MAC Spice L/G
Setting spray: MUFE Mist & Fix
Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation, a bit of TheBalm’s Mary Lou-Manizer, cheek contouring, a peachy/brightening blush (like Milani Luminoso), a well contoured eye with really black mascara, and Mac’s Cosmo lipstick (my go-to)! 🙂
